As with all post offices, there's a lot of weird gift things, which seem to be quite expensive for what they are, but I suppose someone must buy them, or they wouldn't have them. Mitchelton Post Office is hidden in the IGA complex and is a lot smaller and less modern than the Brookside Australia Post near by. There's no self-serve counters but you have human servers and I suppose they go okay. But like I mentioned, the kicker is I'm yet to stand in a line for more than 5 mins before sending my parcels off on their merry way. Winning!

After presenting all my identification as stated on my passport application I was informed that I…read moreneeded ONLY a proof of my new address, I traveled home and got the requested additional documentation and presented myself at this post office to get my change of name passport processed. I was then told by another staff member that I needed several utilities bills even though I was presenting my drivers license, marriage certificate, wedding certificate, previous passport, rental agreement, bond lodgement, and rent receipts in my new name. I also had all my other ID including Medicare and credit cards in my maiden name and the proof of name change. I was told this mountain of evidence was not sufficient for the bigoted gentleman who was glaring at my tattoo whilst telling me he required additional information. And smugly told me he would "see me back again in an hour" I went to the post office in new market and they processed my application with the paperwork that this garbage post office had refused, and processed it in under 5 minutes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS POST OFFICE!
