A little bit far away from my normal shopping area - but quite worth a detour.

The Designer Warehouse is one of my favourite London discoveries…read more Not far from my home, and just off Seven Sisters road is a monthly sale for designer clothes - having heard from it from a colleague, I didn't really know what to expect. It was great and would definitely recommend giving it a visit. When getting to the warehouse, you have to leave your bag and coat (including your phone) in a cloakroom, and may a small fee of £3 (or 2?) to be able to get in. The sale is over 2 floors, and organised by designers - some are really well known, some are smaller names I've never heard of. It's not a posh environment, it's just rows and rows of clothes on hangers - and you have to take the time to go through them to find the gems, and also your size. There aren't any changing rooms, but there is an area where you can go and try them on at the back of the venue - it's closed off to men, but you do have to accept getting changed in front of other women. I am myself a massive fan of Vivienne Westood, and this was also the opportunity for me to try on a few pieces of her clothes - and yes, I did cave in and buy a top (1/3 of the original price) and a scarf. Good to know: they separate their sales between womanswear and menswear - their schedule is updated on their website.

One of the market's permanent fixtures, this place is a treasure chest of vintage clothes. Not only…read moredoes it avoid the damp smell of many vintage shops, it is also really easy to navigate and everything is organised into categories. Although it's a tiny shop, it has so much stock, especially leather boots and suit jackets. What I found annoying however was the lack of visible pricing, which means you have to wait around until the sales person is free to answer your "how much is this?" question for the hundredth time. Vintage planet can be found downstairs behind the food stalls in the corridor along the right hand side of the market. Avoid it at weekends because it gets horribly busy, I went on a Thursday morning and practically had the place to myself.

The Stables- this new revamped building in the heart of Camden has been filled with shop owners, but, more of the copy-infringed T-shirts and some Asian imports. Kinda lame, for the past few years since its opening. But, after finding vintage planet-my perception is changing. Their clothes are just like fresh from the closets of those decades! And, the wholesome French approach of the owner, Ms. Kamir, enhanced my visit to Camden market as such a positive one, and I am still smiling remembering the warm welcome from the whole family. The vintage clothes in Camden Market has been overpriced, and yet, scarce to find anything good under the budget. but this Vintage Planet will brings you back to the 80s and 90s the old-time Camden Market. Her clothes are definitely wearable and they are mold/ odor free. And, most of all, it was fun chatting with the vendor, other than looking through her clothes, talking about the punk rock eras and changing scenes, then haggling down the prices without raising eye brows. In all, I will definitely go back to her stores whenever I return to London. And, I highly recommend her store to the vintage lovers of any ange like myself!

All Saints is located in the old Fopp Records building just next to the lock on Camden High Street…read more It is barely recognisable from the building that was there before, it is like an old wooden warehouse. It feels really cool. It is a decent size and there is a lot in stock to look through. The clothes there are on the expensive side. Shirts start at around £35 which is a lot more than I can afford right now however if you have some spare money in your pocket then this place could be a good stop of for some seriously fashionable gear. The clothes are good quality and design wise they are pleasing on the eye. One thing I liked about this branch is that the staff leave you to browse without hassling you into add on sales. You won't be able to park near the shop but is is a few minutes from Camden tube station and is on the busy High Street. Look out for the rusty looking brown building as the shop does not have a sign above it making it clear where it is.

I will not not deny the urban styles on offer here are fantastic. For both men and women the clothing is on the cutting edge of fashion. It offers those kids who are waiting for their trust fund to mature the opportunity to dress like the urban poor kids yet pay three times the price. Maybe it is me, but paying £120 for boots that look, worn, tired, beat up and just out right old, doesn't make sense. Then again, I do not understand the whole vintage phenomena either. It's just old clothing for the price of new ones if you ask me. Why dress like your gran now? Wait a few more years and you'll look like her, so don't be hasty. 'Pop' There goes my fashion street cred. I have no problems with All Saints, in fact I am a fan. The bargain gene that holds sway within me just will not facilitate the kind of prices they charge. I do get a little excited when I see the 'Sale' sign go up though.
