Primark, that sums it up.
For the uninitiated, from a land without Primark, this is the place to go if you find yourself here on a budget and needing the odd clothing item... you could replace an entire suitcase worth of lost clothing for under £100, but you get what you pay for.
Occasionally I find the odd treasure here that I actually like, but the favour it has with me comes for impulse buys that you may not need down the line... why spend £30 on a crappy Christmas jumper when you can get one as cute (or cuter) for £10?
My personal experience was inregards to a beach wedding back in the U.S. a few years ago... being what it was there was lots of beach, sun, and pool time throughout the trip... I had swimming trunks, but aside from that was unprepared. I popped into here out of pure desperation and was pleased to be sorted for under £30... and I bought a lot, including some cute new swim trunks and everything else one could have possible needed. Those items are now put away because I'm just not a beach holiday kinda guy, but truth be told should I have thrown them away or they have fallen apart by the time I need them again it wouldn't have hurt my feelings.
This Primark is quite large and nearly always busy, and is probably about as clean as could be expected... I feel for the people that work here! I've seen similar shops in far more despair, so it is what it is. Customer service runs the range from super friendly to borderline rude (one lady here is on my list!), but that's not entirely out of line with this type of chain.
The get what you pay for here applies as it does for anywhere else, but if you can brave the lines and madness it may be worth it depending on what you're looking for. read more
