We had made a reservation, but we still had to wait like 15 min past our reservation time be seated. And it took a while for someone to come by to take our order. But when the food finally came, it was pretty good!
The rosemary focaccia was one of the highlights of the night. My expectations were honestly kind of low when it came out because the bread looked so plain. But it was so delicious. The bread was crispy on the outside, nice and warm and fresh, and dense and soft in the best way on the inside. The balsamic and olive oil sauce only added to it.
The fish and chips were pretty good. I like that they keep the skin on, so you get the crispiness and saltiness from that. And it keeps the fish itself moist and buttery. But the serving is pretty big and the oiliness gets to you fast. Coupled with chips - everything was just way too heavy.
The Sunday roast was pretty much what I expected. The meat could have been more tender, but the gravy it was in was delicious. I also love the vegetables. This was my first time trying Yorkshire pudding and it just tasted like ok bread so I didn't care too much for it.
After we ate our entrees, we were waiting for dessert. But yet again, it was so hard to flag a waiter down again. Eventually we were able to get someone's attention to order the sticky toffee pudding. We started the meal on a good note and we sure ended on one too. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious. It came out hot with a scoop of ice cream. And the toffee flavor was so deep and rich, almost to the point of chocolate. And the cake itself was so moist. Yum yum yum! read more
