The reason I was able to discover D&D is because the store hosts a pretty decent sized area for anyone and everyone to come together to organize games most any night, before Covid happened at least... I learned all about the hobby and met some awesome friends that have been in my life for over half a decade now because of the community of people that came together here. I got all my rulebooks and dice and knick-knacks here. Some big orders and even some Warhammer 40k merch that I brought home was maybe ten or twenty dollars cheaper than I would have found elsewhere. Most stuff was priced what you'd expect, while some books could easily and definitely be ordered cheaper online (unless shipping comes into play in a bad way). With that said though, I always check here for my needs first. I don't think anything is going to ever beat being able to see the games for yourself and talk with people that are most familiar with them. Despite it being a pretty swell sized place, there are games EVERYWHERE. I kind of like the organized chaos, but it can be daunting if you don't know what you're looking for. There's definitely a section for most everything though. I rarely go out of my roleplaying area comfort zone but there's party and strategy and card game sections, etc, etc. The gaming area (once it reopens) will probably look the same, which is an area that divides the store on its own but gets really lively on some nights. I think there was maybe a dozen or so tables that all sat small groups comfortably, with some room to bring your lunch from the other shops in the area. There's a decently maintained restroom for everyone. I dig it. Really miss it and hope that when things get better our group can come back together in person again. tl;dr It's alright. read more

Dont know whether or not to give this a 4 or a 5. I LOVE the community here (need to get back into going to thursday night magic while im not at college), very friendly and vibrant, and the selection of games is unmatched. Karl has everything you ever wanted here. TTRPGs? Obscyre war games? Minifigures? MTG cards? Dice, soda, board games to test playing, accesibility, add ons? Its there The one thing keeping this from a 5 for me is the organization. Its organlized by genre, which fair, but outside of that theres no organlization. Not by date or alphabetical. Its very cumbersome to look for a specific game in here due to the volume of it all. I do highly reccomend coming here though. read more

You can find anything you want on Amazon. The one thing Amazon does NOT have is a friendly, knowledgeable owner who brings a community of gamers together. You also can't get a space with open tables for gamers to get together and play. Magic, pen-and-paper RPGs, board games, and a couple of shelves of games that are there for the playing, no purchases required. So, yeah. Stick with Amazon because when the doors close on this place, Amazon will step in to offer all of these things. I'm just kidding. Amazon won't do any of those things. I have been coming here for over ten years and never felt the need to go anywhere else. Hundreds of different board games, at least.The owner is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. One room is open every Friday evening until about 10 PM for open gaming, mostly board games and MtG. You can bring your own games or play some of a couple hundred well-used store copies. For example, I bring my own Set, Cross Clues, Lost Cities, So Clover!, Hardback, Paperback, Word Domination, Roll to the Top, No Thanks, Second Chance, Point Salad, etc. (mostly bought there), and take advantage of the store's Ticket to Ride, Domination, Ricochet Robot, Bazaar, Ingenious, Splendor, etc., etc. read more

This is a good game store, with a very large selection. The games are just piled up, and somewhat organized - there's a table of lighter games over here, some box sets over there, and walls of wargames and other sundry items arranged alphabetically. The organization on most of their stock contrasts slightly with the new releases sitting in the shipping box out in the middle of the floor. The selection of miniature painting items is a little sparse, and focused primarily on Games Workshop. There are a few promo packs lying here and there, usually on top of the games they accompany. The guy running the store seemed friendly, and there was a crowd in the side room playing games. It's worth a trip to see what they have here, browse around. If you live close by and want to do Magic or wargaming, I'm sure they have a calendar somewhere in the store (although it doesn't appear to be online anywhere) with a list of events. read more

Awesome store if you're in the market for a new board game! They have a wall to wall selection plus D&D, Warhammer, MTG, TCG supplies, and other goodies. The only negative I could have is really a positive in disguise, and that is that the selection can be a bit overwhelming. Large selection of games however, not a good faith merchant. Bought a game, took it home and opened it. Realized it was missing the rule book. Took it back to the store within an hour of purchasing it. They would not return or exchange the game. The clerk said it's not their problem. I need to call the manufacturer. No offer to call on my behalf, no offer to reach out to their supplier. Just too bad, I'm out of luck. I left the game on the counter, and left the store out $50. I called 2 days later to speak to the owner. Same reply; too bad game isn't complete: it's not their problem. They are responsible for selling complete and working goods. His reply: call the manufacturer. No offer to call for me, no offer to rectify the issue or make it right in any way. I like to shop small and I am a loyal customer. The game was $50 in the store yet $35 on Amazon. It's sad when the little local guy doesn't stand behind his merchandise; it drives us to the big box and internet suppliers where you get better prices and can return products easily. So, when places like this go out of business, sometimes it's their own fault and not Amazon's. Sadly, he will be out in the end. I will call my credit card company, dispute the charge, likely win and he won't get the $50 and will pay the credit card merchant chargeback fee. He'll lose money and a customer, spend time defending himself with the credit card company all rather than doing the right and honest thing. read more

Without a doubt the best game store in the area for game selection, free table space, events, and personality. Go buy and play games. If it's too far away for regular visits, definitely worth checking out the special events. There's a flea market in spring and an auction in the fall. If this store doesn't have it, theres a good chance you won't find it at any FLGS. A little overwhelming at first. There are just SO many games. The organization/presentation left a little to be desired. But with the huge selection it's understandable. The owner was amazing, and very helpful! We drove 2 hours to get here...and we're looking forward to coming back with BOTH our gaming groups! This store is definitely worth a visit if you're into board games. He has a wide variety of products that he sells at a very good price that he receives from several companies, distributors, and manufacturers, all in one convenient location. In addition to all of that, he will host multiple events and tournaments for the community, while providing almost everything you will ever need to play with in his store if he happens to have it in stock. They have a ludicrously large selection of games, including new releases, a large open area for gaming, tons of demo copies, and they're constantly running events. One of the best game stores I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. They have walls and walls of board games, sorted by genre, and it was very easy to browse their inventory. Not sure if it's a regular thing, but they had cardboard boxes open and filled with some of the latest releases sitting out in the middle of the floor, as well as a large clearance table and new releases table. I was on a week long roadtrip when I stopped in, and this store had way more than any other game store I stopped at during the week (and more than my local stores in Northern Virginia too).
