So 5/5 on the looks but where I think this place lacks is communication and professionalism. Jason the main guy I spoke with was awesome! He even called several times before the event to check in. The day before, during, and after he was very kind. Paul I believe his name is was also very kind and helpful. My problem came with one of the staff who was rude during set up and made me feel uncomfortable to even ask simple questions like what time they planned on setting up the round tables which I believe was reasonable since my help wanted to set up decor. I was not trying to rush but come on...The next issue came with no communication. In the contract that I signed over 1 1/2 ago stated that the place must be left the way we found it. This is fair and obviously I agreed to it but on your wedding day the last thing you're thinking of is the contract. Through a mini argument the bridesmaid were about to clean up but Paul just told them to leave and that he would do it instead. This was very awesome of Paul but I only wish he would have just let them clean up or reminded us 2 hours earlier so we could have had a big group help. Due to the staff cleaning up a list of things went missing. This was very disappointing and when asking the venue about the missing items nothing was found so either it got thrown away or taken. Which I understand the frustration of having to clean but my bridesmaid were going to do it so they could have been more careful and respectful of our things. Jason was kind enough to ask all staff and give us a details on what they said but still nothing was found besides our sanitizer. Also when speaking to many, many, many guest, I found that there was no uniformed police officer. One guest who works for Atlanta PD went looking and couldn't find him/her. This wouldn't have been a big deal but again no communication. The place is beautiful so on that front it's worth the headache BUT make sure you ask questions and really make them accountable. But again the place is beautiful and overall the wedding was a hit so I would recommend them! 4/4 stars!

Really strong show... was also cool that they were doing a team up with the center of puppeteering and had a bunch of Jim Henson and puppet creations on display as well as a BTS photo exhibit in one of the rooms. You can park for free in the Fishburne parking deck which is conveniently located right next to the Schwartz Center. Parking rates apply, Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm, but the deck is free otherwise. On October 20, 2017, I attended the world premiere of the short film "In Her Image" (2017), written and directed by Emory alumnus Nikoloz Kevkhishvili. What was unique about this premiere was it took place in the Schwartz Center's Emerson Concert Hall (seating capacity: 825) and the Emory Wind Ensemble played the musical soundtrack to the film live as we watched it on a projected screen above the stage. The score for the movie was composed by Emory's director of orchestral studies, Richard Prior. I've been to independent film festivals and independent movie screenings/premieres before and In Her Image (official website: https://www.inherimagefilm.com/ | IMDb link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt7483328/) was better than I expected. If you're a fan of high quality, well-made, and well-acted short films, it's worth checking out. The premiere was preceded by three arrangements performed by the Emory Wind Ensemble and an additional arrangement after the premiere. They were: 1. Four Scottish Dances (1957) by Malcolm Arnold (1921-2006) 2. Aria Della Battaglia (1567) by Andrea Gabrieli (1510-1586) 3. Suite from Mass (1971) by Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990) - Film Premiere - 4. Zion (1994) by Dan Welcher (b. 1948) I was impressed with the quality of the performances. They were outstanding. They were conducted by Paul Bhasin who is Emory's director of wind studies. My favorite arrangement was the Suite from Mass which was written for the opening of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. It sounded magical like a John Williams score from a Steven Spielberg movie. Five brass soloists from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra joined the Emory Wind Ensemble for the suite. They were Stuart Stephenson (trumpet), Michael Tiscione (trumpet), Jaclyn Rainey (horn), Samuel Schlosser (trombone), and Michael Moore (tuba). The entire program, including the movie, lasted only about 1.5 hours. As for the Schwartz Center itself, it is very nice. It opened in February 2003. For comparison, the Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech opened in April 1992 with a 1,155-seat auditorium. The concert hall is two stories and features a 45-pipe organ. There were staff members on the first and second level concourses greeting attendees and handing out descriptive programs. Seating was general admission. The seats were comfortable and there was not a bad seat in the house. Every seat seemed to have good to great sight lines and viewing angles. The acoustics were terrific. Along with the concert hall, the Schwartz Center also has a dance studio, theater lab and observatory, rehearsal hall, and classrooms. Outside, there is a courtyard with beautiful tree lights. The Schwartz Center is located on the southern end of Emory's campus. It's just a stone's throw away from Emory Village which has several great dining options like Double Zero, Falafel King, Keba, Rise-n-Dine, and Wagaya.

There are multiple vendors, a Balloon Museum, and an indoor space for events and art with a chill lounge with images that pay homage to the history of the Pullman Porters. I strongly recommend this experience and that you arrive around 12 noon because it gets crowded quickly. Admission is free but you pay each vendor as you purchase. This is an every Saturday evening beginning at 1 p.m. through 5 p.m. EST. There is both paid and on the street free street parking on Arizona. There is no specific Yelp profile for Pullman Yards or the Chef's Market so this is the only option I could find about the venue.

We came for a spoken word event called "Identity", a production of the Story Collider, which cost only $10/adult. This event had 5 scientists get on stage and provide stories of their lives and how science played a part in their self discovery. The Highland Inn Ballroom was an excellent choice for this event. Intimate feel, but enough seats to seat a full room of folks. Small stage, but again, increased intimate feel, adjacent full bar that was active and serving customers throughout the night., and lots of lovely interior to stroll through and photograph. About the only thing I could complain about was that at times the AC didn't appear to be working as well as it could, and it was very warm. Even the warm temperature was addressed Parking for the Highland Inn...I laughed when I saw the lot, because it's "THAT" lot that enforces parking if you're trying to slip in for lunch at a nearby restaurant, including Sweet Auburn BBQ, which is next door. That definitely burns you when you're hungry, but you smile when you're going to the inn, since that parking is yours! From N. Highland Ave, the lot goes down sharply since the lot is on a downward slope, but there is an exit at the bottom of the hill that exits out to Blue Ridge ave. Nice! Staff were friendly, the lounge was good for the event, and this hidden in plain site place is worth checking out.

Plenty of room for 150 people or so to mix and mingle, and the wait for the bar was never long. With a $6 special for well drinks, I was a happy girl. Keep an eye out for future book readings here, usually in partnership with A Cappella Books. For an author you like, it's definitely worth the time and expense. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and will happily call a cab for you at the end of the evening.
