Atl Glassworks has extremely high prices for basic things that you can learn online. I have always…read morelearned better in person so I booked a class figuring it would be an investment in my craft. I suffered a severe emergency and missed my class and following up with the company as soon as I was able to and was told that I can get zero refund or reschedule. So I am out $200+ dollars. I understand small business cant take a loss on the supplies but it isn't like they couldn't be used in another class. A full or partial refund or reschedule would've helped me a lot in a time of need due to the emergency. I realized just how easy it is to learn online and will be going that route. 1/10 overall. Edit to update: 50% off of a future class????? Like I'm going to come back when you can't give some grace for a mental health CRISIS .. not a "mental health day". I was not in a state to notify ahead of time or I would have. I didn't just forget to put you on my calendar. Just because you're a small business doesn't mean you shouldn't treat people like people if anything you should more so. That is what makes good word of mouth for small businesses. This is probably the hardest venue to find. Directions included go past the silo. It's located in…read morethe West End on the other side of the railroad tracks and Lee Street. Once you find it though, it's like an oasis. It's basically a compound where artists rent studio spaces. The entrance review is pretty severe. You have to submit a portfolio and go through an interview process. There is a large warehouse that they use for the performance space. I think it used to be a textile manufacturing plant. I went for a production of Woyzeck. I liked the way the actors were all visible in the large space. They also have a little bar inside the space, and, my favorite part was this strange swing hanging from the ceiling. I spent most of my time on that! I liked the space, and now that I can find it, I'll keep going.

The new gallery is a two-story live/work space with a really cool glass "storefront" entrance, and would be perfect for lots of events and parties and is available for rental. Works by previous artists like Julie Ross as well as new and exciting local talents are shown on both floors.
