I recently went to their casual Valentine's Day event and had a blast looking for unique prints and cards for friends. Prints are usually $25, going up for limited releases and I think I saw $100-200 for originals (mixed mediums, and framed). Great place to find quirky prints for friends who are into that kind of thing, or cards to send to your beloved. Parking is street and usually not too hard to find.

When a few of us were wandering around main street in Stone mountain exploring, we came across a sign that said mini chair museum this way. After doing some searching and asking for directions, we found the small little unassuming house with Ms. Barbara Hartfield, the Chair woman herself! The front room has a decent amount of chairs to see, but you if you want to get into the museum (and you should), it's $5 for single entry, and $4 for a group. If you're lucky enough, you'll get a walking tour of the museum like we did, from Ms. Hartfield, who was very happy and eager to explain all of the chairs and displays. The museum consists of three main rooms (don't forget to check the bathroom for more chairs!) and have chairs from all over the world, featuring chairs that she had placed/displayed categorically in alphabetical order. I could go into the types of chairs you'll see here, but to do that would be a multi page review, so i'll leave the photos to speak for me. If there's a type of chair you like, trust me when I tell you, Ms. Hartfield has it. To get a peak at their collection, check out their website too: www.museumofminiaturechairs.com Beyond chairs, there's several cutouts of articles written about the collection from different parts of the world that are placed on the walls throughout the museum, which document the history of her growing collection. In her front room, the Guinness world record is proudly displayed also. The museum is open only on Fridays and Saturdays but has been around for 7 years! While there is no parking on main street (where the Collectibles and Antique chair gallery resides), it does have parking in the rear, though from some of the smaller shops, it's an easy walk. If you want to see a particular chair up close, don't be afraid to ask, as Ms. Hartfield will happily open the glass cases and allow you to hold them. I never got the history of where the chair fascination began, but it's impressive, with a series of chairs large (cookie jars) and small (thimble size)...just don't mistake them for dollhouse furniture and you'll stay on the good side of this collecting queen. Very interesting one of a kind museum and shop that I guarantee you also aren't ready for...but that's the point of places like this, right? Go check it out, give Ms Hartfield some business and be a part of this one of a kind show!

EuGene is an extremely talented artist and his work provides an incredible backdrop for pictures (2) EuGene is very responsive to questions (primarily by text) (3) He is knowledgeable about the area and parking. The Bad (buckle up - ALL facts) The night of my party, the AC was out - in August - in Atlanta. The pictures were ruined as EVERYONE was sweaty. Some folks left early because of the heat. Many had to step outside to cool off. Fortunately, people hung in there because it was such an important night for me. Do you think EuGene proactively reached out to offer a refund because of this issue - Nope. I reached out and he put me off until a week or so later because he had to wait on Giggster (BS). By the way, I suspect that he did this on purpose to game Giggster's rules. He then offered less than 25% of what I paid (he offered $200). I wasn't happy with this and asked for $150 more - expressing my frustration with how issues with HIS FACILITY ruined the experience for me. He offered $250. I still wasn't happy. I know that things happen and since I like(d) Eugene and want to support his business (and a Black business), I drafted a sample review that addressed the AC issue without being too harsh with the understanding that he would provide a refund: "While there was a snafu with the air conditioning, we had a great time because it's a great facility with beautiful artwork. To his credit, EuGene took care of us" (excerpt). After sharing his cut of the payment (giggster charges serious fees), I settled on the $250 - TO SUPPORT HIM! Guess what? He then rescinded his offer to provide me with a refund! FACTS! He texted me "I'm just not sure why I'm paying at this point? Your review is a fair one and you still mentioned your issues?" Sir, I am not going to lie to folks! They read reviews the same way that I read reviews. AND you confess that the review is fair! One more thing, I paid for an extra bartender to avoid having people wait. Well, when you only have one POS device to take payments, an extra bartender doesn't matter. The result? LONG LINES! His excuse for this: "People didn't know what they wanted to drink." Really? Almost done. I paid for the outside food because he told me that this would cover "clean up." OK. In our back and forth about the OVEN that was my party, he suddenly complained about the clean up. His review of me? "Good Renter. I would host again." Stop playing games. The sentiment is not mutual. Ultimately, he ghosted me - after agreeing to refund $250. Grimy. So, while this is a beautiful location and Eugene is a truly talented artist, do-not-book-this-place for an event. I did not want to write this review - I really didn't. But Eugene revealed himself to be untrustworthy - despite all of my efforts.AND I TRIED TO WORK WITH HIM - HE KNOWS I DID. If your event is important to you, don't book here. MY experience is this: you can't trust Eugene to take care of you. MY HONEST experience. Don't say I didn't warn you - I tried..

The gallery was quiet, with only a few patrons, and the exhibition was stunning and thoughtfully curated. However, the visit felt noticeably impersonal. Throughout our less than 30 minute tour, we were not acknowledged by staff at all. Other staff appeared occupied and only responded when we asked a question about viewing the top level. While the exhibit was impressive, the lack of basic courtesy detracted from an otherwise enjoyable visit.

Upon arriving the owner warmly welcomed us and then explained what Healium was about: an atmosphere free to play and rejuvenate, essentially. For the painting sessions, you have a choice to paint on a canvas, bottle, or tile plate. To paint it was $10 for the supplies, discount or free if you donated wine or art supplies. The painting sessions aren't lead by anything, there is a base inspiration for the day that you can draw from, but the idea is really to have fun, try not to be overly serious, and just painting. Let go, sort of experience. There are also guided meditations and food toward the back of Healium. I don't go participate in a lot of meditation sessions, so it was really interesting to finally experience a singing bowl for an extended period of time. The open gallery showcases local work from staff and other artists all with either a fantastical theme or meditative spirit in mind. Healium seems to focus a lot on exploration of the soul and letting that blossom. It's also a safe atmosphere to do so. We ended up painting and painting til the place closed up, and still painting.
