My experience with the Gaffney Group over the last 18 months.
1. My first experience with The Gaffney Group was 25FEB2021. I had an appointment to pick up my gate remotes and payment booklet and CC&R's, none of which were provided at closing. After knocking on a locked office door (pandemic), it was opened and their were 3 professionally dressed ladies in the reception area. I informed them that I have an appointment with the owner, the lady that answered the door said "no you don't, we are closed until the pandemic is over and slammed the door in my face
2. The Gaffney Group denied me access to my property for 90 days after closing. This means they refused to give me a gate pass or remote for exactly the first 90 days of ownership. This caused me to have to wait for someone else to drive into the complex, borrow one from a vacationing neighbor or call a neighbor from the gate phone to get access to my condo.
3. The Gaffney Group refused to use my name on any mail and had their employees call me Mr. Dept. of Veterans Affairs. They also address mail to me this way. The only way I know this was happening is one letter got delivered by accident. The post office had to get involved so I could get my mail from The Gaffney Group.
4. The Gaffney Group lost my blank check and refused to find it and had their attorney threaten me with legal action if I asked about it again. The Gaffney Group also informed me that they hired a 3rd party that collects the HOA mailbox in front of their office and that it the 3rd parties responsibility.
5. In April of 2022, Bobbi Gaffney, the owner of The Gaffney Group, refused to put me on the board of directors Ballot. She said I was not eligible because the cut off for submission was 31DEC2021 even though The Gaffney Group did not solicit candidates until March, 2022. How could the cutoff date be correct when nominees were not asked for until March, 2022? The only people on the ballot were the people that already held office. I wonder how many other people were left off the ballot and why?
6. On 16AUG2022, the new landscape company broke a 120 psi irrigation line about 15 feet from my house with their riding lawnmower and then ran away and left it discharging into my condo and the neighbors condo. After calling the office and the emergency line numerous times, no one answered. I was forced to call the Water Authority who was kind enough to help isolate the flood after about 90 minutes. The person that was suppose to answering the emergency line that day decided to not do their job but did call back until over 4 hours later. When the person did contact me, they said I did not need to worry about the flooding anymore because they contacted the Water Authority and got it fixed. They also asked me to go find the neighbors who were effected by the flood and let them know she had it under control. This was completely false and the logs of the water authority directly reflect this. Also, the water authority called the emergency line numerous times because phase 4 is not their responsibility according to the technician that helped. It took the Water authority technician, my neighbor and me to get the flood isolated because it turns out their are 11 valves in different locations of phase 4 to isolate any irrigation main rupture.
7. The Gaffney Group has not corrected the water that flooded under my cabinets. On the morning of the 18th, I emailed The Gaffney Group and early in the morning on 18AUG2022 I was not available to be at home until 1pm when The Gaffney Group sent their handy man to inspect the cabinets and baseboards. The handy man informed me that he told his boss at The Gaffney Group to send professionals and that he gave her 2 different companies he recommended. I will keep posting my experiences with the Gaffney Group. On 19 AUG 2022, I received an email from Bobbi Gaffney where she told me she was not responsible for the flooding damage that her employees caused and then made worse and she said the she spoke with the board and they agree. This matter will be legally handle now. read more
