This interaction served as our greeting into the salon, and it felt extremely unprofessional. We had expected a higher level of customer service. One of us had arrived with clean hair and was ready for the styling and was ready to have it styled. The other one of us needed to have our hair washed and blown out before the styling. The hair stylists made it seem like an issue that we both wanted to have our hair styled, and of the three stylists in the salon, apparently, only one of them was going to be able to complete the hair styling. Our services felt rushed and not personalized. We both had inspiration photos of how we had wanted our hair to be styled, and neither of us had our hair styled anywhere near what we had asked for. I had to re-do my hair after the fact- it was not secure, and you could clearly see all of the black bobby pins in my light brunette hair. It did not look professionally done at all. I was disappointed in the way we were treated and the actual services themselves. We had chosen Moxie so that we could enjoy the time leading up to the wedding; however, it only led to more stress. It was not worth the $200. I would not recommend this salon based on the lack of customer service and the poor quality of styling.

The location is fantastic, and there is plenty of convenient parking. We showed up right on time, and Sean got started on my youngest. He was friendly and worked great with my 3 year old. He did a great job. My middle child was next and I think it was Eddy who helped him, he did a great job too and had some suggestions for a better cut for his hair type next time. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they don't accept any payment besides cash. I don't carry cash, and didn't have a debit card on me. We don't live too far away so my husband brought some cash over but that was a pain. I looked back through the booking process as well as the confirmation email and I couldn't find where it was written that they only accept cash. I generally come prepared and would have done so if I'd known. We will definitely be back, we'll just be prepared with cash next time. Looking at other yelp reviews now, if I had done that before I would have realized that cash was needed.

There are not enough kind words one can say about the amazing team at this salon! Heather and Danny are talented, professional highly experienced, and knowledgeable of the latest trends and techniques. I had a hair disaster that appeared to be uncorrectable. It was not only fixed quickly in that one day (with a process I have never even heard of in my 20 years of hair coloring) - I have gotten more complements about my hair than I had in years. The hair disaster turned into a huge positive!!! Who can ever say that? You just don't find this level of expertise in this area, and yes, I have tried high end salons. I truly believe that if another method (foils, etc.) was the way to obtain my desired look, I should have been informed as I am not the hair expert. Very disappointing. SECOND UPDATE: Owner keeps updating his comments to my review and is now lying about what the stylist allegedly said. DO NOT VISIT AVANT GARDE. The photo of the end result that I posted says it all. No salon would take your money for an"balayage" and leave your hair like this. I was NEVER told I would have "red undertones" and when I was offered a glaze, I was not told I would have red hair unless I got a glaze. In fact, Jordan's stated that the toner should do the job and I could always come back a few weeks later for a glaze. INCREDIBLE!
