I love The Fruit Stand! Since meeting them at a Yelp event a while back, I always stop by if I'm in the area. I'm so jealous we don't have this local business in Cleveland, because if we did, I'd surely be here once a week. I love it that much. Jason, The Fruit Stand owner, started his local business to help bring fresh, affordable fruits to the community. When I went to Kent State, we had nothing but Chipotle and pizza and other collegey food stops, so it's amazing to see how deeply the tide has turned around dining options off campus at my beloved Kent State. Located within the Acorn Alley development, The Fruit Stand has an easy parking lot (and I believe it may have even been the former Popped popcorn location). You build your own bowl with base, toppings and fruit. So easy! The staff is super helpful and will be happy to help you build something delicious. My bowls are always AMAZING, fresh and filled with so much flavor. You really cannot beat the value for this fabulous fruit bowl. I could honestly count down until they moved to CLE if they ever did. This was the perfect treat after a long hike on a sunny day. Prices were lower compared to other smoothie bowl places. BF and I split a regular acai (cherry + strawberry flavored!) bowl with 3 scoops of fruit, walnuts and melted chocolate! There was a cute seating area inside, a clean bathroom and even a little ice water station. I loved this surrounding area in Kent and it's food that you don't feel bad after having a lot of! If you want a fruit bowl, açaí or oats- get here! They give great portions. You can mix the açaí (which they typically have two flavors of) or the overnight oats- which are great and I can never eat the whole bowl with fruit! So many topping choices. This is just fruit?!? But it's so much flavor! As per recommendation from several Kent State students, I checked this gem in Acorn Alley out. I was not disappointed. I took recommendations from the employee on what to add to my bowl since I have a gluten sensitivity and she made some amazing suggestions! This is a great treat if you're looking for something sweet or an alternative to a heavy lunch. I have been going to The Fruit Stand since it has opened. The workers have always been kind and the place is always clean. I have gone back recently after not going there for about a year and I will have to say I am disappointed. The workers were not that kind and the price has gone up about 3 or 4 dollars. The smoothie bowl itself was good but not worth $10.99. I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. read more

Great açaí smoothie bowls! Inside is so cute and there's tables outside to sit at too. All the fruit is always super fresh and the açaí is always the perfect consistency, the twist is cool because they change the flavor that is twisted with the açaí, today it was peach and it was so good. I am so so happy this place exists!!! The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, the fruit bowl i got was the tastiest and freshest i have EVER had, and the employee who helped us out was just so sweet and kind and radiating positivity! It was truly such a lovely experience, i can't wait to frequent this adorable little spot I got a large fruit bowl with a twist - wild berry açaí + banana strawberry soft serve (all only fruit!) and for my fruit toppings i chose grapes, strawberries, pineapple, and banana. For my crunchies i chose flax meal and chia seeds. For my drizzles i just chose local honey. All of the fruit was perfectly ripe and sweet and delicious, none of that underripe, whiteish colored, burn-your-tongue nonsense that most places serve up. It was so extremely delightful and perfect all around. The soft serve was so delicious, i was in awe of the delicious flavor! Also, this spot has amazing prices and portions. The large was definitely very filling. As someone who has struggled with health issues my whole life, i have turned to the mucusless diet healing system and regenerative detoxification as a way to heal myself naturally - and it has worked miracles for me! Fruit is a very large part of my diet. I often feel like there is nowhere for me to go to have that experience of eating out. I cannot even explain how GRATEFUL i am that The Fruit Stand exists!!! After seeing this place on Instagram over & over again, we finally made the jump to come in (on a winter day nonetheless!) and are so glad we did! It's a newer addition to Acorn Alley, and they've had some bumps in the road I think when it came to figuring out supply & demand, but they seem to have it ironed out now and I AM IN LOVE. After choosing an açaí base, you get 3 fruits, a crunchy & a drizzle. I got coconut + almond butter this time, but ended up also paying for pie crust too.
