There's a reason the line is literally out the door here EVERY TIME. But don't walk away! It moves quickly and the payoff is worth it. They make the fritters with latest in-season apples. When I visited yesterday they used AMAZING sweet and tart Cortland apples. And it was perfect in their light and soft fried dough, dusted with cinnamon sugar. I got half dozen at $10 to share with friends. They are perfect on its own, but if you're hungry for more: get it with ice cream! It is best fresh. Located inside the main building of St. Jacob's Farmers Market, it's one of several vendors in the building. No seating at the booth, but the market has many seating areas inside and outside. THe hype is real! These fritters are freshly made and very delicious, without being overly sweet. They have a really nice flavour and texture when fresh but tend to get a little soggy if not eaten right away. That wasn't a problem for us. This is one of the most popular vendors in the market, justifiably so. The lineup went out the door, despite a slight drizzle. Bring an umbrella, just in case. It's worth it. read more

I love how crispy they are and each bite consists of large apple pieces. The apples being used are switched year-round to whatever is on season. So every time you visit, the flavour can be different. The one I had was Cortland. The hot apple cider is my favourite during the fall and winter. Pairing cider with the hot fritters warms you up as you stroll through the bustling market. The price went up slightly in 2022, but the amount you save is the same. Buying half a dozen saves you $2.5, while a dozen saves you $7. When in doubt, get more, as you can easily finish the whole box. The line for it can be very long. So make sure you dress warm during the winter while waiting. Come early! read more

Our must go to when going to St. Jacobs market. Always has the longest line up but they r quick and efficient. Been going here for years. Definitely recommend. The only thing I hoped they could have add is just the option to buy ice cream separately as we normally buy a dozen fritter and dont want to buy a combo just to get an ice cream. Because it was early in the morning, the line was reasonable when I got to the store. The choices were simple, fritters, plus drinks. Depending on the time of year you go, also depends on what type of apples will be fried. I ordered a dozen fritters with hot chocolate and coffee. The fritters are made fresh, the apples are lightly battered, deep fried and then coated with sugar and cinnamon. I liked how the apples keep its texture. The fritters are light and pillowy and inside each one, there's an apple ring. The exterior is coated in cinnamon sugar and they look sweeter than they actually are. We ordered half a dozen ($7.50) but for whatever reason, they put 8 inside. No complaints here! Totally worth coming back for. read more
