This place continues to go downhill. There is weird liquid dripping onto the raw meat, what appears to be mold on the cheese shelves, and just general odor to the store. They've had the same prepared items since at least 2012. I refuse to buy their seafood anymore due to the number of times we've gotten home and it was so fishy smelling. I am not a Whole Foods shopper generally but this place will go out of business as soon as Whole Foods opens unless they fix this store. read more

We have been going here for several years to get special foods. Recently we bought a few things and when we heated up the lobster macaroni, it was bad-tasted spoiled. So when we went again to get some fruit, my husband told the man at the seafood counter about it and he just shrugged his shoulders. Later in the store, he saw a lady stocking shelves and he told her about it and she said she was sorry. Then when we were checking out, the checker was unhappy with me because I wrote the kind of coffee on my coffee but I didn't write the PLU number on my coffee and candy. I told her there was no pen by the candy. She just looked through me. Oh and they used to have little bags of ice for taking your cold stuff home with , but said "they don't do that anymore." I'm torn... it's not bad... but if you've ever been in a Central Market or Sprouts (not sure where all they are none around here - but many in Dallas metroplex) you'll be disappointed. Around here Akins, Whole Foods or ONF would be comparable. Some similar concepts - nice selection of produce. Great selection of bulk items. Meat counter, deli counter - both fine. Prices seemed a bit high but not crazy. I'd been warned checkout times could be long but I walked up to zero line. Prepared food looked like a bad line at Golden Corral - everything looked dry and tired. Like it had been sitting under heat lamps for hours and it was just after noon on a Sat! I wanted to find lunch bites there but just couldn't... nothing looked glossy or tender or inviting! Fair selection of snack food. Disappointed in specialty food selection which I thought would be their strength - for example - no low carb pasta! The good. Great cheese selection! Happy dance, they even had pâté! YaY!!! Ok, so maybe I'm spoiled but Whole Foods is better - way more selection! But the real winner is Ozark Natural Food!! ONF! Their prepared food is chef's kiss!! Hot entrees and salad bar are mega hits and frankly the vibe is so fabulous it makes me happy just walking in!! Ok, enough about ONF. I didn't hate Fresh Market but it's lack luster and uninspiring. I ordered an organic fresh turkey on November 3rd. I was called on November 23rd where they told me they didn't have enough turkeys. I went right online and ordered an organic fresh turkey from Whole Foods and picked it up on November 25th. What a beautiful store! Everyone was friendly and helpful. The layout of the store was clear and most rows were roomy for two cars to traverse. The fruits and vegetables were so fresh! I have been going to Fresh Market for over 2 years and I am even a Loyalty Rewards Customer. This has always been my favorite grocery store. So much so, I drive from Bella Vista just to shop there. However, recently I have noticed a big change in their "friendly" employees' attitudes. I have encountered a few less that friendly employees but it was not worth worrying over. Today, (Nov 30) was a little different. I went there and saw two mini rosemary Christmas trees that I was interested in buying. However, there were no tags indicating their price. I saw an employee in the flower section and asked her how much they were and she said she did not know and told me to check the tag. Duuuh! There is no tag. That's why I am asking. I told her there were no tags and she just turned and started walking away from me (rude move).She half turned and told me to take it up to the cashier and ask them then started walking off again. I informed Ms Friendly that since there are no tags, they would end up calling her, since she works the flower section. At this point, she turned and said, I AM ON MY LUNCH BREAK and walked off. Another customer walked up to me and said, 'I heard that exchange and she was pretty rude. What ever happened to friendly customer service?". The female customer said that she wanted one too and told me to follow her and she would find out. The customer flagged down a male employee who could not find a price and walked back to the flower section. I told him he was wasting his time if he asked the rude employee because she did not want to be bothered on her lunch break. He did not make any comment except, "I know who would know if she is still here." No comment on his rude employee. Needless to say neither myself nor the customer purchased the plant. All this took place at 2:40pm and there were very few customers in the store so it wasn't a busy time. Needless to say, a rosemary Christmas tree will not be the only item I will never purchase from Fresh Market. ALLEN'S, in Bella Vista will be my choice from now on. This is a lovely specialty grocery store that is very unique in it's choice of stock and offerings. While much of the merchandise Is targeted towards those who are concerned with organic products or have allergies, their meat counter will appeal to anyone who enjoys a tasty four legged animal (or two legged). Before I get to the main course, I have to recognize their beautiful produce department. It looks like something out of a magazine. The apples were so pretty, they looked fake. The day we visited, the store was bustling with pre-Thanksgiving Day shoppers, so I didn't take many pictures, and in the spirit of social distancing - I tried to go only where I needed to go. Fresh Market carries, as they say, restaurant quality steaks. That is not an exaggeration! Their meat cuts, the marbling - nothing but applause from this girl. I especially like that they have some take and bake items that you can grab for a quick and easy dinner. I picked up an Italian Meatloaf and pecan crusted pork chops when I visited. I will be back to grab their chicken cordon blue sometime soon. Fresh Market also has a nice seafood counter, as well as a tasty pastry & dessert counter! In the Covid World we are currently living in, this store did feel over stocked and very full. That being said, if you plan your visit for an off peak time, you should be good! Fresh Market won't be my primary grocery store, but they have enough unusual offerings and an exceptional butcher - so I will be definitely be making regular stops! read more

Even though they open at 8:00 AM, at 8:45 AM no food is out. Vegetable area practically empty. Meat case empty. Came for burgers, asked one of the guys and he said, oh yeah I need to make them, it'll be awhile. No offer to get us what we needed. This is the 2nd time we have gone (first time was not as early) and everything appeared empty and unhelpful staff. This is NW AR's answer to Central Market/Whole Foods. They deal in high end meats, some prepared foods, some bulk, organic items, and specialty items. You shouldn't come here expecting to buy your basic staples for the week and pay Harp's or WalMart prices. But you can get the special gourmet items with quality and selection that those stores are constantly lacking. A smart shopper will start here for their specials and the things you won't get elsewhere. Yesterday I bought beautiful Hereford premium top sirloin for a buy 1 lb, get 1 lb deal, so I paid $4.99/lb, got some nice mushrooms for $2, some mixed olives at the bulk bar (cheaper variety than buying a big jar when you want a tiny portion), and a small batch of broccolini. Sirloin Marsala for a fraction of the price of a restaurant. For NW AR, this is a great find. You should check it out! read more

Fresh Market is our go to place for preparing for weekend events. The combination of the Atlantic Salmon and Jumbo Shrimp have been very good, and yet to disappoint on the grill. It's accompanied with a twice baked potato, and a medley of vegetables from produce, to make our meal complete. I've recently moved to the area and have been on the hunt for a good market with more heath food/product options and this place has been the best so far. They have a really good selection of produce - and so far everything I've tried has been really yummy! They also have a decent selection of organic and local produce. I didn't check out the meat department - so not sure on that. The cheese section had a good amount of selection. The rest of the store had a good amount of options and a wide variety of different products - especially some that are hard to find. There are two things I wish was different about the Fresh Market: 1. That they had a bulk section, and 2. Unfortunately the closest Whole Foods is about 15 miles from my house so I started shopping at The Fresh Market in between visits to Whole Foods. Let's start with what The Fresh Market is NOT - it is not a natural or organic or plant-based forward supermarket. It is a very small supermarket, with some premium offerings and VERY limited organic or vegan options outside of the VERY small fresh section. In fact, their bakery does not have a single vegan item. It is however very overpriced due to the lack of local competition in the premium space. Because of the limited offerings, I haven't been able to find tofu in my last three visits - so I had to think outside the box and found organic tofu *** to my surprise *** at a Walmart Neighborhood Market near my house for HALF the price from The Fresh Market. Needless to say, I will never buy tofu at The Fresh Market again. As a matter of fact, I had such a bad experience at The Fresh Market today that I vowed to myself to never shop there again. I wish Whole Foods opened a store in Bentonville. Or even Kroger. I suspect The Fresh Market would be out of business in six months or less if it had some real competition. In the meanwhile I will continue shopping at Walmart for basic needs and take the occasional 15 miles trip to Whole Foods for more organic and premium offerings I can't find locally. read more

We buy the majority of our meat at this store. They usually have a nice selection. It's more expensive but the quality makes it worth the price. I was going to try to place a delivery order from Fresh Market because I'd read all the great reviews, but it turns out they use Instacart for their delivery. Instacart grossly exploits its contracted labor force-- it pays workers well below minimum wage to shop and deliver, doesn't enforce food safety standards, and during the pandemic refused to pay for PPE or assist with sick leave for their workers who inevitably got COVID from being out in the grocery stores as front line workers helping families stay home and safe. Did you know an Instacart shopper could be assigned a shopping trip to multiple stores for up to three customers--shopping for potentially hundreds of items and driving dozens of miles, and Instacart will pay them as low as $7 for all three orders combined? Customer 3's ice cream and meat will definitely be sitting in a hot trunk for an hour while they drive around delivering the first two orders. I can't believe a reputable business would align themselves with such a shady company. read more

Stopped at this specialty grocery market looking for an after dinner dessert of some kind. We had been here before and knew they had a nice fresh bakery counter with fresh fruit tarts, brûlée's, brookies, fresh baked pies, cookies, and various other pastries. We arrived close to 8pm so selection wasn't that great. We ended up finding some "kitchen sink" cookies and some peach pie bites to take home with us. They were outstanding!! Staff was super friendly as always when checking out. The only challenge we had was as we were walking out of the exit. The combination of fresh flower smell, mixed with essential oil smell, and some sort of medicinal smell was overwhelming. We both left with our noses running and my wife's allergies immediately kicking in. Too many concentrated smells there by the entrance/exit. Something they could work on. The best meat in town. The quality is great and the staff are friendly. I have been able to make this my go to place for groceries. Produce is fresh, deli salads are fun, the twice baked potatoes are my favorite with many temptations in bakery. Great deals every Tuesday and Saturday. You have to hand it to them, they know they're 25 miles away from Whole Foods and if you need something and don't want to drive to Fayetteville, you're likely going to pay the higher price at Fresh Market. Also, you don't have to wait in line isn't necessarily a selling point, because no one is there to answer any questions if you're looking for a specific product. The Fresh Market is an amazing store that offers a wide variety of unique brands. The desserts are fantastic! My wife and I love the deli and their panini's, especially their Reuben's. The wine selection is quite good, especially for being a smaller size market. They must really pump the A/C behind the wine, because all the bottles are cool. read more

At first glance you might think that Fresh Market is very expensive, but once you get into the store and realize the quality of meat and the price of the meat, it isn't expensive at all. I won't purchase meat anywhere else. The chicken breasts are huge and taste like chicken (compared to others I have tasted) and they are frequently on sale for $3.99/lb. Anything that you want will be wrapped in butcher paper so you can freeze it for later use. They also have a great coffee bean section and other foods that can not be found anywhere else and a produce section that has a great variety. They even have greeting cards that are beautiful. The staff is always very helpful and accommodating. Anytime after making a meat purchase you can get free bags of ice after checking out, to keep your purchases cold after you leave the store. read more
