I stopped by to pick up some sourdough but unfortunately they were out of what I wanted but I was able to buy something new! I got some Avocado Bread with Guacamole Spices, I can't wait to try it. The store was clean and organized just like every other time I've visited and everyone I encountered was super friendly and helpful. I also learned that they pull the bread that's reach the expiration date and that's why the sourdough wasn't available. One of my pet peeves is to make sure your product is fresh, No One wants to buy stale bread. I love the selection of items they carry and prices are comparable to other stores. read more

This entire vegan Italian Bolognese dinner came together beautifully using ingredients from The Fresh Market, and I'm honestly impressed with both the quality and value. From the start, the produce was fresh, vibrant, and well-stocked--perfect for building layers of flavor. The vegan Italian Bolognese turned out rich and satisfying, paired with roasted Brussels sprouts that caramelized perfectly. The ciabatta bread with garlic mash, artichokes, and roasted tomatoes finished with a balsamic drizzle tied everything together with that elevated, restaurant-style feel. What really stood out: Fresh ingredients across the board Reasonable pricing for the quality you're getting A strong selection of vegan and gluten-free options, making it easy to cook intentionally without sacrificing flavor Everything felt thoughtfully sourced and accessible, whether you're cooking plant-based full-time or just exploring more vegan meals. This haul proves you can create a comforting, elegant, and nourishing meal at home without overspending or compromising on ingredients. If you enjoy cooking with purpose and quality, Fresh Market makes it easy to do both. read more

This is a really nice store! It is easy to find, a convenient stop for nearby gym goers (Crunch Fitness and Gold's Gym) with TJ Maxx, Burlington, Ross, Dollar Tree, Five Below and other stores a short walk around the corner. The store is clean and well stocked. Like many grocery stores, there's a produce department, cheese shop, wine, meat department, and bakery. A few things that makes The Fresh Market stand apart from other stores include grinding your own peanut butter, assorted nuts and trail mixes per pound, and a bakery that includes more unique desserts such as fruit tarts, tiramisu bars, and creme bruleé cheesecake. There are multiple brands to choose from that have organic, gluten free, and dairy free options for any dietary preference. This is a fun place to shop or browse as there is so much to explore. I got the opportunity to meet the manager and he was really friendly and knowledgeable about the store and its products. The gouda turkey sandwich is also really good. It can be a little pricey, but it's definitely worth checking out. read more

I've found my new go-to place for non-everyday meats! Found veal there after visiting my former meat market and another local grocery. They have a LOT of nice cuts and they even ground the meat for me. Minimal waiting. While browsing I noticed they have an excellent selection of seafood, including Oysters Rockefeller and Escargot!! Some sushi, etc. I picked up some Chard for a new recipe. Who else carries that?! They have a lot of items I'd like to pick up for special occasions. I will be back! read more

Great selection of natural/organic items. The store is always neat. Produce selection is always a plus. I love the variety. The juices are amazing for mimosa bars. The blood orange is one of my top choices. The pre-made dinners are a saving grace for those ming work days. I enjoy the weekly selections of sale items. If your are looking for fresh, quality items that still have a great flavor, you'll love Fresh Market read more

Don't do all your grocery shopping here - - even if you're rich, do you want to waste your money on bougie toilet paper? HOWEVER, this is the place to go for specialty cheeses, sashimi grade tuna, seafood, and fancy items like iberica ham, spanish chorizo, etc. (The stuff you can't find anywhere else) I love how small the store is; seems like the older I get, the more I appreciate details like this. The employees are always nice and helpful. Instacart will provide shopping your items for you and you can pick-up curbside if that is important to you. read more

My Wife and I was just at your store and forced t walk out due to your checker refuseing to ring our purchase. There was one customer in front of us that we patiently waited for the the customer and checker to finish a story between them. With only us in line the checker then decided we can wait even longer while she tries to leave her register. I was once an employee of fresh market and the grocery industy for over 10 years and i would have never considerd treating ANYone this way. I have my theroies as to why the checker would think so little of me,but it wasnt because i said anything or showed and disrespect, regargless this treatment should not be allowed. read more

Stopped by to get some fresh grapes and they had a very nice selection. The store was very clean and the employees were so sweet. I'm very grateful that they have reopened the section where you can package your own nuts/grain blends. When I got in line to check out, there was only one cashier; however, two more people appeared and got the line down rather quickly! s/o to every single one of you! read more

Since my last review, I haven't seen the person I was unhappy with, and the service has never been better. The butchers are wonderful, helpful, and I haven't been spoken to like I was beneath them for just existing. 5 stars for the wonderful butcher counter workers. The change at this store is obvious. Some of register worker are still a little lacking in their people person skills, but I'll chalk that up to being young. read more

Hubby and I love coming here. Hubby shops here more than I do but I especially love to drink the coffee while he shops! Good selection of wines and international beers. Fresh salads to go and ready to heat and eat meals. I bought the meatloaf $5.99 already made and baked it in the oven for 50 mins and we had a meal for 2 days. It was very good and I don't even like meatloaf. If you visit often you can tell when you find a good deal on items. They have weekly specials and a variety of specialty foods. read more

A super cute little market with everything your fresh heart desires! If you're not sure what to cook for a meal- fret not! Fresh Market is here. Walk through and be inspired by some of the pre prepared meals. There's also a hot food bar and chilled seafood station so if you want to pick up something quick or dine in... It's possible. An amazing staff, waiting to assist you with their simplistic southern charm that made my soul smile while strolling through the market... On Thursday's they offer $20 meal deals- everything you need to complete your meal; for instance I picked up turkey burgers (beef, turkey or chicken were the options), buns, potato salad, cheese, and an apple pie (there were 4 different pies to choose from) all in a bag for 4 only for $20 winner winner, steal, chhaaaaChinng! read more

Big fan of the Fresh Market. They combine the quality produce and 'eclectic finds' of Whole Foods with more of the 'supermarket staples' everyone is generally looking for. Can you get everything here? Nope... it's truly a "food only" type of place... no paper towels or picking up an OXO kitchen utensil. The highlights for me are the meat selection, and the great people behind the counter. They are willing to order you just about anything you want, cut another piece any size / style you want, etc. etc. Very accomodating and easy to talk to. It's a bit pricey, but the items are generally of the gourmet or speciality variety, and it can be a bit crowded on the weekends... but it's worth it for me. read more

I was at the prepared foods counter and the ladies behind the counter were talking. One of them mentioned not to something so people don't get sick. Not reassuring! This place really makes me wish I was rich so I could afford to do all my grocery shopping here. It is so nice to shop without kids running around or having horrible flourscent lights. Mostly I shop here for the prepared food options. They have some really nice and not terribly expensive options for take and bake in the meat section. The produce prices are pretty high, sorry but ill keep buying my fruit at Kroger. The bakery section is really nice and I love the fresh ground coffee. If you're packing a picnic or taking a dish to a potluck this is your place to shop. Also, all of the staff has been incredibly nice on my many visits. read more

I love Fresh Market. True, it's not a good place to do your weekly shopping, but it's got a lot of high quality items that can't be found at Kroger. The seafood selection is small but excellent, and they have a great meat counter. I've bought some good steaks here, as well as duck and other rarer items. Produce is great, and the bakery counter is practically irresistble. They have a good selection of spices (much cheaper than pre-bottled), and items like Mexican coke (made with real sugar -- what a difference!). It's described as more of a European-style market, which I would agree with. I love the classical music they play, and as others have pointed out, it's a food-only store, no extraneous items. Even the cashiers are a cut above the typical. Given all that, I like to come here when I have a little extra time and money to spend on something out of the ordinary. read more

Excellent for Memphis, but if you are used to shopping Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, you might be disappointed. They do have above average sushi (their rice is better than the grocery store/convenience store competition). Beef selection is really good. Seafood ok, but tiny. No whole fish or head-on shrimp. Cheese selection is poor in my opinion. Beer selection has some good choices but is overpriced. Only place in town to get Meyer lemons (when in season) that I've seen but they don't carry baby artichokes (and Schnucks does??!!?). The sushi and decent organic milk for the kiddos keeps us coming back regularly. read more

Love this place. Great selection and friendly, helpful staff - even during the holidays!

I'm not really sure how this place could get any better -- perhaps if it was cheaper? Nonetheless, it's a candy store for adults, with every possible gourmet anything neatly lined and piled in bins. Great layout, there's even a bulk candy buffet full of great-looking chocolates and candies. You can find your steel-cut oats, your kosher foods, your fancy olive oil, your pancetta, your fancy this or that. Great spice selection -- reasonably priced in neat little plastic packages with accompanying glass containers. They also have a good meat selection. Did I mention that it's awesome? You'll walk in and want everything. I am just saying. Don't go in there hungry or you'll have yourself a situation. read more

Super helpful and friendly staff. Just about every time I'm in there, which is about once a week, someone above and beyond their job to help me with something. I was asking one of the produce guys about the honeycrisp apples and he said, "Well, let's just slice one open so you can have a taste!" And cut me a piece off and then proceeded to hand the rest out to other customers. My only gripe about Fresh Market--and Whole Foods--is that neither one of them EVER has everything I need. I always have to go to both in addition to my regular grocery store, Schnucks. read more

This Fresh Market is always a delight to walk into. The flowers are some of the best available without going to a flower shop. The produce is well laid out and great quality. The bakery products....ahhhh!!! I feel like I'm walking through my own candyland. Add to that the endless variety of cheese. The selection of cheese has really helped me out many times with the crazy recipes I make. The meat/seafood counter is equally impressive. The guys and gals behind the counter are so helpful every time. I love the amount of product that is prepped and ready to go (ie. breaded fish filets, seasoned burger patties, breaded oysters, etc.) They have fresh juices, a great variety of yogurt, kombucha, ginger beer, kefir, and all that healthy stuff. Plus a pick 6 pack in the beer section for $10!!! read more

This is my favorite place to shop in Memphis. Because not only do I like to eat out, I also love to cook. And this is just a foodie's paradise. The meat and seafood department is incredible, and the only place in town I go to for Sea Bass and Tuna steaks. It's pricey, but always fresh and of the highest quality. They have fabulous steaks as well. Best place around to get a good filet. Another thing I love about this place is the dessert counter. It's almost impossible to walk by it without picking up one of their tempting confections. The Tiramisu is some of the best I've had. read more

We love our Fresh Market and we love to buy some of our favorite items there: The New York strip steak is excellent. It is better than any other cut of meat we have had a Whole Foods. They also have my favorite cheese here- the Raspberry BellaVitano cheese. The turkey sandwhich in the deli section is great for lunch Their sushi is great The cheese flat bread is to die for We love their stuffed potatos The pecan crusted pork chops are excellent. I love their candy bar. Overall the service is great and staff is friendly and I don't ever feel like it is over crowded. Great location in East Memphis. read more

I love this place. If I'm feeling uninspired on what to cook for dinner, all it takes it a stroll through the Fresh Market. I am a big fan of ethnic food, and find myself always stopping in for one or two ingredients that I cannot find at a "regular" grocery store. Granted, I feel like you couldn't do ALL your shopping here. Also: the fresh flowers and holiday items suck me in, too. read more

Always exceptional steaks. The cuts of meat they have here are exceptional. Better than a well-known Memphis butcher, without question. Pick up some fresh veggies and a tub of banana pudding and I'm good to go! May not be as fancy as the new one in Union but the foods the same and there's a lot less foot traffic. If only they'd take Apple Pay I'd give them 5 stars. read more

Love shopping at Fresh Market. The produce and meats are always so fresh with a great selection. We love the bulk snacks and the florist as well. I usually shop at the Germantown location since it's only a stone's throw from my house. But recently, it's been constantly out of my favorite chocolate covered pretzel toffee and no one ever knows when they're getting more of it - well guess what!? They sell it in the bulk section here! Remember that one time, as well as all the other times, when the surly guys that work at the meat counter at the White Station location acted like total jerks? NOT the only game in town, losers. read more

For me, Fresh Market falls somewhere between Whole Foods (which has been beautifully renovated but is always packed and unpleasant to navigate) and Trader Joe's (which we sadly don't have in Memphis)--it has all of the fun, unique, and fresh food you want and a much more pleasant environment than the bright lights and white walls of Kroger, but it's occasionally more expensive and I can't always get everything I need there (or, I can, but I have to buy a brand I wouldn't normally use when I could instead get a cheaper, just-as-good-if-not-better brand from Kroger). I love Kroger for a place to get my staple foods and I love it because I have my Kroger rewards card and coupons and they're just really good at making me feel like I'm saving money by shopping there. I love Fresh Market a little more though, because their produce almost always looks fresher, their meat and fish selection is large and oh-so-good (they get some killer salmon and tuna), their fresh baked breads and pastries are fantastic, and they have all kinds of odd or uncommon ingredients that can't always be found in your average grocery store chain (though, often, I can find weird ingredients in the food section at Target, which is odd, but that's a discussion for another day). This particular location is small, but has a great selection of all of the aforementioned things, plus beautiful fresh flowers and potted herbs, a super fun candy counter, and lots of freshly packed snacks, granola, and dried fruits and veggies. If I want a really good steak, fresh salmon, or some sort of sausage other than hot or mild Italian, I get it at Fresh Market. If I want fresh-baked bread or homemade soup, I get it at Fresh Market. If I need a uniquely shaped pasta, an uncommon Asian-style sauce or marinade, or a fancy frozen snack (like fig and goat cheese phyllo cigars or chipotle chicken barquettes), I get all of these things at Fresh Market. Kroger is good for the staples--sugar, flour, milk, chicken breasts, and eggs--but Fresh Market can't be beat when it comes to special foods, hard-to-find brands, fresh meats and dairy, and all of this at a fairly reasonable price. Whole Foods is fantastic and has an amazing selection, but it's expensive and never not crowded, whereas Fresh Market, even midday on Sunday when everyone is shopping for the rest of the week, is still pretty easy to navigate, with close parking, quick and friendly staff, and some good specials. I divide my time between Kroger and Fresh Market, with the occasional trip to Whole Foods, but lately, I find myself making my grocery lists with Fresh Market in mind, because I sincerely like the store and their products and my experience there. read more

I arrived at this grocery store by accident when I stopped at the Stein Mart next door. This store puts the local chain Kroger to shame. This gourmet grocery store has a good selection of cheese, great quality of meats, a great deli with a nice variety of good and reasonably priced wraps (chicken Cesar salad, Santa Fe & buffalo chicken just to name a few). They also have a great beer selection with beers from all over the country (try the UFO from Boston if you've never had it) and quite a few international greats. If you can't stand the typical grocery chains, you must check this place out. read more
