I attend the freemasons hall most tuesday evenings for a Lindy Hop (swing dance) lesson and social. Built in the 1920's this is a striking building!
You're welcomed by a huge lobby with a domed ceiling and huge pillars. There are then staircases leading in many directions. I've been in a number of the rooms at the venue, but i know there are many more doors i haven't seen behind.
My favourite is a wood cladden cermony hall with large wooden throne like seats and a chequer board floor. The other rooms i have seen are more traditional function style rooms, carpeted edges and wooden dance floor centres. All beautiful.
There are purpose built bar room and even a small terrace out on the 2nd floor overlooking the street below.
There are so many options i'm sure the Freemasons hall would suit any function you wished to hold there, from meetings to classes, weddings and birthday celebrations. There is a revamp planned too, so it can only get even better. The link below tells the story and you can see a picture of the wood cladded room
