So this framers on Preston Road is something of a rare breed now and it was with joy that I found it near my flat when I wanted to get a photo really nicely framed as a gift. It's a small shop but has a large selection of frame styles i n solid wood, wood veneer, metal, as well as more unusual frame materials in a variety of colours- great if you want to match a specific colour in a room. I took my photo in with me and they gave me great advice- trying out a series of different frame and board options up against the image and offering help to keep it all within my budget. They were able to have the framed photo ready within two days for a good price.

The Shop is spacey and uncluttered and hanging on the walls are paintings with their frames on, to give the customer a good idea of how the frame looks, with certain colours and styles of painting. I don't know much about Art, but recently my dad asked me to choose a frame for a piece of art he bought and during the browsing process, I realised just how important a good quality, matching frame makes to a painting. So in this shop, I actually was quite interested and absorbed by browsing their large collections of modern style Nielsen frames, and imagining what pieces of art would go well with the beautifully named 'Forbidden fruit' frame. There are also classical and ornate frames to go with the more traditional paintings. If you are an artist by trade, or you have a piece of art, that you believe deserves to be properly framed, come here and have a chat with the knowledgeable owners, and take it from there.

Aside from buying a print or photo, there are also a wide range of frames on offer. The establishment also offers professional framing services and you would be able to create a bepspoke room with complimentary frames of any paintings you wish to hang. They also offer restoration services, though I guess that this service is a touch more situational. I'm not sure that the majority of Brighton's student residents will have a collection of oil paintings needing attention. The prices were not for those on a budget and this shop seems to cater for the commuter crowd with London budgets. Worth a look if you are flush or have a budget that allows for more up market decoration.

What I saw was tempting though. There's a lot of great prints in here of various designs, in various sizes, which would look good on many a bedroom wall, and suit a plethora of different palates. You'll also find old and modern photos of Brighton, which are kinda cool. Prices were a little much for me, but are competitive for this type of product.
