If I could give a big fat ZERO i would, but i'll just have to settle for 1 star for now…read more Rude and hostile are the only ways to describe the man i spoke to. I asked to have a look at a camera, in which he gave a deep sigh before doing so (like a bloody teenager who couldn't be bothered) i asked about what functions it had and was met with rolled back eyes and a obligated/forced answer. Before leaving he said "i wouldn't want to be a showroom for some one else" I understand where he's coming from and i would rather give my money to a small high street business, however after the teenage and rude attitude he gave me (especially for a man of his age i would expect he would learn some manners) he practically pushed me out the door himself, NO WAY am i giving my money to a man like that. You just lost £500 quid to Jessops! from which may i add i had an outstanding service from!

Centre point is an independent camera shop that caters for every angle of photography. The guys…read morehere are friendly and happy to dispense sound advice to photographers at all levels. They seem to have a relatively intuitive nature about them which makes then sufficiently customer focused to talk to you with the right level of technical information. In short they don't bamboozle you with things you don't understand but it's clear straight off the bat that they know their stuff. Their range of stock is good too though leaning more to the digital side of photography, they have in store development facilities and stock a selection of frames. Which is not only ideal for those of us who are so proud of our shots we want them framed, but also good if you just want to do justice to a print. Price wise I've found Centre Point to be surprisingly cheap for a shop of its nature. You can doubtlessly find most of the stuff in here cheaper on line or in some of the bigger chains but considering the level of one to one advice available in here I think you buy into a little more than just the camera.

I use these guys when I need some film processed as they do such a fantastic job (especially on…read moremedium format). They're not especially cheap but then the quality is leagues above Jessops or Snappy Snaps. They also do a fantastic framing and mounting service. I recently had a nice black and white print mounted on some MDF (about 10x8) and it only cost around £25. Their photo books are amazing and surprisingly cheap. They're a lot classier than Photobox. There's an amazing shot of a British Bulldog as you walk in on the left and that's my friends (the dog)! His name is George.

The Vault is a great little printing shop, specialising in photo printing and framing. It is a…read morelittle on the pricey side, and probably isn't the best place to go for bulk orders. However, the amount of different services they offer on individual prints is amazing: so if you're looking to get an individual piece printed, framed and looking gorgeous, this is a good place to go. If you have a bulk order, I doubt you'd even consider The Vault: from the outside, is doesn't really look like the kind of place that could handle thousands of copies of various bits and pieces. It's set up to showcase all of the photographic art and prints they've done before, and the pieces all look excellent, really good quality and clearly digitally touched up to look just right. This is clearly what The Vault focus on, and their ability here seems great: all of the prints on display are to a very high standard. However, this limits The Vault in what it can offer. If you're looking to have one piece done well, The Vault may be a good place to go: however, the prices seem rather excessively high for this sort of service, and there are plenty of cheaper, qualitative printers in the North Laine... Still, if you've had great service in The Vault, don't not go: it's great service, great quality, just a little pricey.

Dropped off some CineStill 800T with them recently and did they a brilliant job…read more I got development, index sheet and the low resolution CD. The low res service is 4 megabites and is great for most uses. If you did want to print at A3 and above, I'd reccomend getting the high resolution rescans.

Absolutely awful! Do not go here!…read more 3 weeks ago I submitted 2 rolls of 120 (medium format) film to be developed and scanned to a disk. Rather than the 48 hour develop and print time, this ended up taking 2 and a half weeks due to a "problem" actually meaning they had a re-fit. They were supposed to re-open on the 2nd but instead this was pushed back till the 6th of Jan 2014. Collected the disk and negatives BUT for only one film as the other had been completely exposed and so destroyed...shocking. Got home looked at the disk and to my horror the way they had been scanned was disgraceful. Rather than the full 15 images scanned, only around 4 were with each picture repeated on the disk around four times. The quality of these scans were abysmal...all had a strong green tone to them making them look Edwardian...they had also been bizarrely cropped (for no reason) cutting the top&bottom of the images and replacing them with a black border (due to poor scanning skills). It was an extremely poor and rushed job with no real intention/care for the duty. Took my negatives to be re-scanned at THE VAULT, in Brighton and when they saw they said the negatives were under-exposed by Colour-stream. They continued to re-scan the negatives and after this we saw the images when scanned properly and to high standard were covered in dust particles. This is due to a lack of care when handling and positioning the negatives. It could also be due to the new equipment they have used. So now the negatives have to be washed and re-scanned. What was supposed to be a 48-hour development and print/scan has now turned into a 3 week + turmoil. Ridiculous. Will never use Colourstream ever again, I advise you not to also. Go to somewhere efficient with staff who enjoy their job.
