I've been spinning and building Poi for about 5-6 years and always come down here to get any supplies I need. I also like that every time I come down here I end up seeing a new gizmo or performance toy to think about trying to learn. Sadly, right now I don't have the tie to branch out, but it's always good to stay abreast of these things. The staff are absolute legends here and go above and beyond to help you or offer suggestions. They also sell a lot of training videos which I wish I had when I was starting out. Prices are reasonable for the items and they also have a range of long boards for sale. Certainly a great shop to stop by to pick up something to play with over the summer and get you out into the sunshine.

Their original flagship store in the North Laines is a jugglers wet dream as they stock a wide selection of juggling balls, rings, sticks, clubs and bar flares. For those that have perfected their juggling and fancy trying something else, they have diablos, poi spinners, devil sticks, knives, spinning plates, hacky sacks, stilts, walking ladders and uni cycles. For the uninitiated - like me - there's also hula hoops and advanced yo yo's!

Okay, I know there are some fanatics out there who have made it their lives but that's another story. I came in here some time ago to buy myself some miniature chairs for a jewellery photo shoot. Even if you don't need anything, it's so much fun to learn about the world of doll's houses. This store build houses to spec, and the craftsmanship is pretty impressive. There's tudor houses, thatched cottages and even regency palaces. But it's the accessories that I can't get over. Everything you need to decorate your home in perfect scale. From pool tables, paintings. working chandeliers to classic Blue French Toile wallpaper. Beware though, it may be cute but it doesn't come cheap!

They have a great selection covering board games, RPGs (including some wonderful indie titles as well as a lot of D&D), tactics games, and hobby supplies. I had a lovely conversation with Winter while I killed time before a show. I own a game store in the US and they gave me lots of ideas for new things to try! There was a great mix of popular titles and more niche ones, all at reasonable prices.

Steyning is one of Sussex's many beautiful rural towns. It's a fantastic day trip out of town for…read morethe more explorative Brightonian as it's packed with all of the little features that you could want from a rural town experience. It has a fantastic selection of pubs such as the modern almost metro feeling "White Horse" and my personal favourite pub lunch venue "the star Inn". It also has a fantastic museum offering a little insight into how this historic (over a thousand years old) port/market town came to be. Its' high street is a lazy and picturesque wander with a fine selection of tea rooms and hobby shops and the surrounding area makes for some excellent countryside walking. There's one thing about Steyning that sometimes bothers me though. To paraphrase Mike Skinner "you're fit but my gosh don't you know it". As a first time visitor to Steyning I was over whelmed by all the great things it seemed to have to offer in terms of the rural Sussex experience. In recent years though I've come to find that it's a bit like a countryside theme park, the whole town seems to be a little too self aware and prepared to capitalize on all of its' assets. Perhaps this is the result of it being so accessible from London. The result being that it's not just owned be people who made their money in "the square Mile" but visited by people desperate to spend a day out of it. All this aside though it still retains a great deal of character and is a brilliant destination for those of us who just need a day out of the hustle of Brighton.
