This great pub is not in Luton proper, but Darley Hall. It is within just a mile of Luton airport and town, but its location set among the rolling hills just east of the airport makes it feel like a million miles away from anywhere.
The food is amazing, the best pub food we have found in our 6 years in the UK so far. The menu changes regularly and includes many hearty, slightly chefy takes on classic English fare. A great rotation of real ales on tap as well.
We've been back there several times since or first visit back in 2009, and the food and service has always been consistent, which is what separates a great pub from a good pub.
I would strongly encourage anyone reading this to give this pub a try. It isn't a chain and is really trying hard to give locals really good food at a decent price. There is another Fox pub on the main road between Harpenden and Luton, but if you are looking for a review of that one, I can tell you the Darley Hall Fox blows that one away for quality and value, so take the extra few minutes to find this slightly hidden gem in the countryside behind the airport. read more
