I've been to this salon twice in the last 3 months, and to start with the positive, the overall experience is very nice. Everyone is friendly and ready to help. My main issue is with the stylist i've seen both times. The first time was a great hair cut especially since i was desperate and it was to make sure i dont look overgrown/ unprofessional at my work. I've been getting my hair done from someone else for my whole life, and the stylist doing my cut here, was in my opinion working with a good base since i was only a couple weeks overdue for my normal hair cut time. So the first hair cut was my normal standard and enjoyed some of the different techniques and textures from this first experience, something to note was the stylist needed help with staying on time and had someone wash my hair for her, keep that in mind. This last time i went i was way more grown out from the last time i came in, i waited 8-9 weeks and my hair grows very fast, like 2 inches in 9 weeks fast. Like the first time, someone had to help her with getting me washed up for the hair cut, both ladys were nice but it felt weird that i was on time (early infact) where as she was still putting color in another lady's hair when the hand me in the chair and i was finished with the wash. That may be industry standard to some but i wasnt a fan of that. Then when she came to cut my hair, i told her what i wanted and somewhat delivered? The hair cut is uneven, some parts didnt get cut or shaved off (i have shaved sides) and i weirdly long part of my bangs that should've been addressed in the appointment but i didnt notice all the parts that needed to be done till i got home when i was able to get a really good look. I had to even shave off a chunck of hair by my left temple because it looked off with it there and was not shaved down properly. Overall i enjoyed the experience of going there and the way everyone is friendly but not the result i was hoping for honestly. I will be going back to my other stylist for my next hair cut so she can fix the uneven hair cut and I'm thankful she is available again. I recommend them overall but definitely make sure you like your haircut before you leave or you might end up uneven depending on the stylist. read more

This was my first time here and it was a great experience. They treat you like a queen (or king) with a head and shoulder massage to start. Andrea discussed what I wanted; she fixed my bangs I had cut myself, layered my long hair so it lays better. I left feeling much better about myself. I went to HEB the next day and a lady approached me loving my hair and took pictures of it to show her hair dresser since I live far (dripping springs). All the stylists seemed to be trained well, and I've been trying to find one in Austin and where I live that "knows how" to layer, style! It seems so easy but it isn't! It's a talent, an art! Just moved here and missing my hair stylist from Grapevine, I decided to do some research and saw some great reviews about The Foundry in New Braunfels. They are a Salon first but have the cutest shop with goodies anyone would want to buy. The buyer does a great job filling the shop with scrumptious must haves. Most important, BK is a great stylist. I have been going to this salon the past 5 years, this past year has been the worst experience. I have had several cancellations, most being same day. Very frustrating scheduling months in advance. I've been loyal but not attached to one gal a pretty long time but on an impulse and with the number of social events coming up, I needed something done and sadly she was not available. I've been very curious to try and I really am glad I was set up to see Rose here. She was welcoming, asked absolutely great questions leading up to my cut, not the typical, generic "So what do you want done today". She made good recommendations on the bangs controversy going on in my mind which led me to believe I was in great hands with her. I loved the scalp & neck massage, before and even during my wash! Booked an appointment for balayage and cut. They required consult first , which great they are going to really listen to what I am wanting. Brought pictures and thought she understood. Day of appointment again showed pictures. Awful turn out. Specifically wanted asked white highlights . Hate yellow and orange. Ended up with zero blonde in the back and orange /yellow skunk streaks in the front. Came back for it to be fixed again asking if she'd like to review the pictures which she didn't and again awful. So incredibly disappointed. Highlights are so basic and easy. Have a big trip in three days and was really looking forward to my hair being done. I drove from San Antonio to get my hair done with BK. I had been to her at a salon in Houston and I just recently found her again! I had been waiting to color my hair for so long. I got there and she asked me questions I would never think about. So I'm glad she thought of all of that. Initially I wanted something very blonde but I'm glad she suggested that I might get shocked and hate it so we did some foils to start lightening it up. Most importantly I asked her to not touch my roots. I'm also glad she didn't tone it a cool color. Whatever she did I love it! Even my husband noticed. My mom loved it too! I drove a long distance in icy road conditions and inclement weather for my appointment with Rose, only to be met with incredibly unprofessional service. I called ahead to inform the salon I was running 10-15 minutes late--still within their 15-minute grace period--but no one answered. When I arrived, I was told they couldn't complete my scheduled gloss treatment and could only offer a haircut. A gloss isn't nearly as involved as a full color or highlights, so there was no valid reason for this refusal. This reflects poor schedule management and terrible communication by the front desk. I actually feel bad for the stylist because it was clear she had no flexibility or contingency built into her schedule. This lack of planning highlights serious gaps in experience and professionalism. Management needs to take immediate action--train your staff on proper customer service, improve schedule management, and prioritize client communication. Clients deserve far better than this. read more

I have been going here for 13 years with Andrea as my hair stylist. She is fantastic! The reason for the 4 stars is because the price changes have become more than I can afford. I have short hair so I get cuts about every 6 - 8 weeks. The price went up $80 for my husband and I from January to May with no notification. It was just thrown on me each time I got a cut. Omg. I LOVE this salon. If your like me, you get your hair cut once or twice a year and hop from salon to stylist and never really feel satisfied with your hair... you have to try out The Foundry. I love the vibe of the salon, it's clean and super cool industrial esthetic and it's a non-tipping salon, everything is built into the price which is sooo reasonable for the value. First of all, I wasn't going to post a review because I was disappointed and figured it wouldn't make a difference And wasn't worth my time. Then I kept getting emails from them asking for a review. It made me mad all over again so here it is. I planned my daughter's Sweet 16 Party for months. We came to New Braunfels for my daughter's sweet 16 birthday party. I told the salon it was for her sweet 16 birthday party. 3 1/2 weeks before arriving, I booked the appointment for a blow dry and updo. I made it clear that her hair was very curly and we wanted it to be smooth ( her stylist at home gets it bone straight). They called me 3 days or so before and said the girl scheduled was no longer working there and booked us with Bradley. They assured me he was good at straightening curly hair. . When I picked her up from her appointment I was very disappointed to see that her hair was frizzy. When we went to check out, the guy, Bradley, told us there was no charge because she was a model because he was in training! My daughter was very upset and had to flat iron and style her hair herself once we got back to our place before the party. No one ever told me they would be having a person in training to do her hair for such a special occasion. I was shocked! Very unprofessional of them. read more

As a previous salon owner I was absolutely wowed by this place, impeccable customer service and the quality of the products. They returned my call in less than 10 hours on their next business day and were able to accommodate me within my desired day and time. The place is massive, yet very stylish, beautiful accents, fantastic design and overall very European vibe. My stylist was very attentive and carefully listened to my needs and didn't push anything I didn't want/need. The entire protocol of their services is very relaxing and making you feel very special. The cut was very detailed and well executed! My stylist provided fantastic suggestions and her professional opinion certainly aligned with my years of experience and I truly appreciated it. They are a non gratuity salon and I actually like that everyone is moving in that direction. I saw a few reviews not agreeing with difference in pricing, but I personally agree with the pricing matching stylist's level of talent and experience and lots of salons use the tiers rightfully so. This is such a beautiful well organized and very experienced salon! Surprisingly on a Saturday morning they were able to squeeze my mother in law and I for a blow dry and style for a wedding that was happening later that day. The salon is huge and I've heard they are expanding the space even more! I also learned that they participate in a lot of different charities through events for things like wigs for kids. What also surprised me is they don't take any gratitude I think it's based off of what products they sell and maybe a cut of the pricing. They were super nice... the lady just did the complete opposite of what I asked for. And ruined my 300 dollar color on the bottom. All I wanted was the roots to blend in to the bottom (probably with a hazelnut/caramel color). And instead she colored my whole head. It came out super dark with burgundy hues. EXACTLY WHAT I SAID I DID NOT WANT. I don't have pictures of my hair before but it looked like a grown out balyage. It doesn't look bad, it's just not what I was looking for.
