Stopped in for lunch. Such a beautiful restaurant. Great decor. Sat inside and had some VIP service from Rick the Manager and Erin my server . I still can't believe it took me this long to try the Foundry. I definitely will be coming again, great selection of Napa Valley wines and craft beers. Sunday brunch was a hit and worth the drive to newly revitalized Pompano area. Getting much more trendy and upscale but still cool. The foundry has a great menu for lunch and brunch and now I want to try dinner next time. We sat outside and found a shady spot and even going it was warm out there was a breeze and very pleasant. Our server was very attentive and explained everything in detail. The bloody Mary's were awesome. The bartender is very skilled We had appetizers first. We just heard about The Foundry a few days ago, from Joel, owner of Pro Lab Photo, of Pompano. He recommended the Mahi Mahi sandwich and I really enjoyed it. My wife had the Polpette (4 meatballs) with crispy polenta, pomodoro sauce, herb ricotta, and basil. She really loved the meal. The atmosphere is very nice, with plenty of space, and outdoor seating. My daughter and I stopped in here for a dinner on a Thursday night. We were seated right away and our server was prompt and attentive. I asked his opinion on which of 3 options was the best and he chose the Lobster Ravioli from my choices. Our food came quick and when it did, he offered to bring me additional parmasan to add to my dish which I accepted. It was very tasty and the last few bites were the best. However, it did, strangely have a slight aftertaste that I noticed more in the beginning which made me wonder if maybe I'm not a fan of the lemon in the dish. I would definitely return to this restaurant if given the chance, but I may try something different next time - there were plenty of other interesting options to try on the menu. If you are ever in the Fort Lauderdale area you must try The Foundry. I've been here twice and on both visits I got top notch friendly service and awesome delicious food. The pizza is phenomenal, perfectly cooked in a wood oven and with fresh ingredients. Salads are a good sized portion and very good. It came out on one plate but a manger walking pass said he will have it divided into two. Nice touch. Also try the Short Rib(good price at $20), Shrimp and Grits and Shrimp Toast. All very good. Umm why am I just realizing now that I forgot to take a photo of my food? Well if you do happen to stop at the Foundry I highly recommend the sushi stack. It's a bed of rice stacked with salmon and tuna with cucumber, Mayo and avocado. A perfect appetizer for a hot summer day and if you're looking for more we also tried the clams and wings which were great options as well. The clams were steamed in a pork wine sauce. A bit different from your typical white wine sauce but I had no complaints and enjoyed the tasty twist they put on this classic dish. The wings were your run of the mill fried buffalo wings. Like if you can't cook decent wings there is something wrong with you. Service was a bit confusing at first we had about 4 different servers tend to our table but at least our drinks were always filled and we left with our bellies happy and full. read more

We went here because the friends I was with like to smoke, so if you don't like/ can't stand smoke then I wouldn't recommend this place. Although they may not allow smoking inside, but I'm not sure. I would call any ask first if your concerned. If you do smoke this is the place for you as they are connected to a cigar store that evidently has a great selection (I wouldn't personally know as I don't but my friends kept raving about the selection). The short rib was tasty and who doesn't like a good aioli? Shrimp and grits: Great dish. The grits are the star of the show here, very tasty. Also a good amount of shrimp included. Ordered the oysters, ahi tuna Poke, grilled octopus, and geek salad. For the reasonably priced menu that i walked into I didn't get the quality of entrees I expected. Octopus was a little more burnt than expected, Greek salad was pretty bland, and tuna poke was well.. you can't really mess that up. I wish the oysters had a dedicated menu or the waiter had more insight on what they were serving - I asked for a mix and I got 12 fairly well cleaned oysters. I had to spit out grit and sand from 3 oysters. Will I come here again, yes - I think the place is a decent hangout after work to unwind and meet people. Ate here on a Saturday night and it was an average night out. The service was excellent. The server knew the menu very well, didn't rush us and our glasses were never empty. The food here is just average. We had appetizer of baked Brie and grilled octopus. The octopus was tasty but a little tough. The Brie was good, came with some fruit compote and drizzled with balsamic glazed. For dinners we had the grilled trout (fish of the day), the ribeye steak (at $44 was very thin), the short ribs (very good) and a French dip sandwich (I think). I had the trout and it was supposed to be made on the wood fire grill. It tasted fine but really didn't have the wood fired taste. During our meal, I found myself wishing we were across the road in Houston's which does the wood fire and steaks MUCH better. read more

I have to give The Foundry five stars because this might be my all time favorite happy hour spot in Pompano Beach. Every time I go, I receive excellent service and the ambiance is always laid back and chill. There is both great indoor and outdoor seating. The happy hour includes several different small plate or apps that are half off as well as selected liquors and beers. Everything I've ever eaten here I've thoroughly enjoyed! I normally go for their wings (some of the best in south Florida) or burrata. Last time I went I tried their sushi stack and it did not disappoint!
