I could not dispute it with the bank yet because it was pending. I had my daughter go down today and speak with the manager about this charge. Today is 8/4/26. She explained that she was returning to China and would not even be in San Dimas. The manager denied the claim but said she could talk to someone at corporate. She did, again was told no and showed her contract via .pdf. This person said she could talk to another person if she wanted to (now the 3rd person). She did and this person was very rude to her. She said it sounded like she was reading from a script--she is only 19 and was cordial with the person. They rudely stated she should have watched for the date. And this is a company that has inclusive positive slogan on the wall? I want a refund of the $49.00. It has been 2 business days. Really one since it did not post the 3rd and she went down on the sixth. Supposedly they are "Judgement Free" and have all the sign in the place about being inclusive and supportive--that was NOT the case. For a company that made $1.24 billon dollar as of 2025 (increase of 12.1% over 2024), I do not think $49 would hurt them given it was a day, I even spoke to corporate. They said she was charged on the 27th. I highlighted the contract showing that the charge would occur on or about the 1st of August. I highlighted that part in the contract and they NEVER responded and still refuse to refund the $49.00. Please do not get trapped by them and do not go. That supportive stuff on the wall is smoke and mirrors. My wife is cancelling her's too. I pay $21 more dollars a year at 24 hour fitness and no whining staff and real weights.

The 4 racquetball courts are fully functional with all ceilings lights working. Rare in NY, NJ and Fl. There are ample hand wipe stations that are placed throughout and always stocked. Thank you to their stellar maintenance personnel. The steam room is alive and working. The sauna is hot, hot, HOT!!! The dumbbells stay in the weight area and are reracked. No treasure hunt needed. The members are chill. The front desk - happy, warm and on the ball. There is lots of free and convenient parking. The best - the GM Jeremiah - we had a situation on Thursday 01/01/25 where a racquetball player from Chino collapsed on the court. Jeremiah stepped up - the ambulance was there in less than 2 minutes and the FD in 4. He stayed with our friend and us throughout and ensured all was well. He reached out to the member at home and updated us on his condition and status today. Jeremiah consistently gets a trophy for top sales in the area/region. We also love him as a wonderful human being and wrote to LAF Corporate to recognize him as a stand up, solid and very caring and kind individual. Again rare and inspiring!

I've gone to other locations too but this one is by far my favorite and feels the least cramped. I specifically go to this location because I do the group fitness class with Diane. My coworkers and I all got memberships because of Diane's classes! I don't understand how she doesn't have more days at this location or any other location. Overall, the LaVerne location is spacious, clean, and welcoming. It is very rare that the saunas are out of commission and if you come often enough the friendly staff will come to recognize you. Suggestions for improvements for the La Verne location: - My coworker has to pick up her children 5 minutes before our group fitness class ends. This is a pretty sucky policy. If a mother is coming to a gym to relieve stress at least allow her to finish her class to the end. It's not a family friendly policy at all. ********** - Replace the bikes (front row) in the theater room with more treadmills. I can't tell you how many times I see people walking out because all of the treadmills are taken but the bike row is completely empty. - Add one more rack of dumbbell weights in the outdoor area. What I have to say after 4 years of training here:…read more The gym has lots of space and members are generally respectful and mind their business -- typically no weird vibes or meatheads here. Staff is typically pretty nice. However, over the last 1-2 years, the gym has become so poorly maintained that it's been severely affecting my training. For instance: 1 - There are probably only handful of 5lb plates in the entire gym. Every time I bench I have to spend a few minutes looking for them -- and once I do, I have to hide them under my bench so others don't take it since they're scarce. It's that bad. They could have purchased extra 5lb plates years ago but never did. 2 - I've had to buy and bring my own 2.5lb plates - adding weight to my gym bag - since there aren't any in the entire gym. 3 - Dumbbells are never properly put away by members or staff. I've had to several spend minutes each day looking around the WHOLE gym for a specific weight -- yes the WHOLE gym, because someone could leave a dumbbell in a weird part of the gym and it would stay there for days (since staff don't seem to put them away during down hours). Sometimes, a super specific dumbbell (like a 22.5 or 27.5) will even be missing completely -- forcing me to use one either too heavy or too light. This makes progressive overload difficult. 4 - The gym has been missing an abduction machine for almost a year. They had one, it broke -- but instead of fixing it, they just got rid of it. 5 - Other machines (typically leg and arm machines) will often be broken and not be fixed for a while. Overall, I'm grateful for what this gym has given me over the years, but I had just enough and decided to switch to a better maintained gym.
