We wanted 4 pounds of carnitas, but because it was around 6 pm, they said they could only sell us a mix of different cuts (meat, skin, buche, etc.) since they didn't want to get stuck with the less popular parts at the end of the day. I totally get it. We almost went to another location to get just the meat, but luckily, the guy prepping the carnitas was super cool and hooked us up with just the meat we wanted! We also grabbed 2 pounds of their barbacoa amazing! 6 handmade orders of tortillas, and some nopales with cheese. They give you a ticket stub and call your number when it's ready. We ate there the place is small but cozy with a few tables. They have great cilantro, onions, and limes, plus some delicious salsas brought out by the sweetest lady. The handmade tortillas were perfect with the carnitas seriously yummy! The barbacoa was bursting with flavor. They even offer mole sauce with the barbacoa I would of never know if it wasn't for a nice lady serving. The horchata is super delicious.

Packed to the brim, all tables full, the meat on both caritas and barbacoa were flavorful and tender. Make your own tacos, the beans and rice could have been a bit more flavorful but overall this is a solid spot, as are all of their locations. Variety to chose from on the menu as well!

The cashier confirmed the details of the order twice and I still got the wrong item. I ordered their cheeseburger which is supposed to come with bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Guess who got no bacon, tomato or cheese? It's literally how their menu describes it, did they forget? The basic hamburger I received for $11 plus tax isn't worth it. No complaints on the quality of the food, it is great considering the area. Their chicken is juicy although on the smaller side. We've gotten the family chicken meal multiple times and the flavor is consistent. The burger patty has a great charcoal taste although pretty dry so I wouldn't order it again. During these times where every penny counts, and eating out is a luxury for many, not getting the basic meal I ordered is frustrating. Unless you take everything out of the bag to verify it before leaving you never know what you will be missing. (Who is really going to open up their cheeseburger with dirty hands to verify it has cheese though?!) I understand if it's an "extra" they aren't used to including but something that is standard? Not ok if it isn't free.

El Mana is just a small storefront restaurant in a corner plaza. Inside is very basic, no real decor, simple tables and chairs. The clientele seems to be mainly Hispanic which is always a good sign. For such a small place the menu is fairly extensive including breakfast and a whole page of seafood entrees. I ended up ordering the Camerones Al Mojo De Ajo (shrimp in garlic sauce). While waiting for my food I enjoyed the chips and salsa, good flavor and fresh, although the salsa was a bit salty. In about 10 minutes my food came out nicely presented on a pretty fish shaped dish, a large portion of shrimp, rice and a simple salad topped with fresh avocado slices and some warm flour tortillas. The shrimp were excellent plump and meaty in a zippy sauce laced with garlic. The rice was a great compliment, while the salad gave a nice fresh crisp element to the meal. Overall an excellent meal and a great dinner. El Mana is a great place to get some excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price, portions are generous, flavors a big, bold and straightforward. Service was good, but this is not a high end place, really not much to see and really nothing except great food.

Taco House in Elmhurst, Illinois was a moment of pure, unadulterated joy. The question wasn't if I would go, but how quickly. After two visits--one short visit and a second, full-scale adventure with the family--I can confidently declare this new outpost a great success. The Feast: This wasn't a tasting; it was a mission. We embarked on a comprehensive tour of the menu: · The Tacos: The Vigilante (x2, for good reason), the boldly named Koopa's Revenge, the west-coast inspired Californiacation (x2, again, a wise choice), the poultry-packed Bad Mother Clucker, and the refreshing Aqua Taco. Each was a distinct masterpiece of flavor and texture, from robust, seasoned meats to crisp, inventive slaws and salsas. · The Support Cast: The Killer Queso appetizer lived up to its name--a creamy, spicy, dippable revelation that had us fighting over the last chip. The chicken nuggets were a testament to the fact that even the simplest dish can be elevated; perfectly golden and tender. · The Libations: My Strawberry Margarita was the ideal balance of sweet, tart, and strong--a crafted cocktail, not a sugary slushie. The kids were thrilled with their Sprites (a classic done right), as was my husband. The Verdict: The food is nothing short of amazing. But a great restaurant is more than its plate; it's an experience. The atmosphere is effortlessly trendy and welcoming, punctuated by a blast of nostalgic decor that sparks conversation and smiles. The soundtrack provided a vibrant, fun energy that complemented the meal perfectly. Most importantly, the staff was genuinely welcoming and attentive, making us feel like regulars on only our second visit. In the world of fast-casual dining, this place isn't just playing the game; it's changing it. We are already plotting our next visit and countless more after that. Zap! Taco House isn't just a new restaurant; it's our new favorite spot.
