Almost 24 hours later, I received an email saying they didn't deliver to that zip code and to call them. When I called, she said she had been trying to call my number all day. The number was an old home number I haven't had for over 15 years, but the email came through fine - she should have emailed sooner! I'm not sure why the number I left with the order online wasn't contacted. They canceled my order and never ran my card, but it was so late in the day when I received the email and spoke with them, I couldn't arrange for flowers to be delivered until the next day, and my friend's mother was gravely ill... The lady I spoke with never really apologized, and she acted like it was my fault I expected flowers from this far away to be delivered an hour away. I told her I was trying to shop locally, and usually, florists would subcontract out closer to the delivery address. She said she had never heard of such a thing. I recommended she correct the option on the Internet because this was extremely disappointing. She said, "Alright - bye."

As a small business their selection wasn't as vast as anything a Buzzfeed article suggests, but that's what attracted me to what they offer. Their arrangements are categorized into almost 30 themes, and my son and I enjoyed going through more than just the birthday and anniversary ones because the images were so pretty. The vases and baskets in which the flowers were arranged seemed thoughtfully selected for each colorful bouquet. We decided on Floral Freshness for my auntie. And here's one of the main reasons why I'm posting this: My online order requested for my auntie's flowers to be send on 2/26, but about an hour ago, my cousin said that my auntie's bouquet had been delivered early. Awesome!* I don't send a lot of flowers, but talking to my auntie reminded me of how good it feels to do it. I'm really glad that I went with Mountain Oak instead of a larger retailer.
