There was no answer by any flower shops as everyone had left early for the holiday weekend. I left several messages on many voice mails that would allow for "emergency flower needs". Friday night around 10:30pm, my family and I were resolved to the fact that my mom would be as beautiful as possible in her wooden casket and her teal dress. We had to be okay with that. On July 4th, at around 10:30am, Julia from Hiram Flower Shop called me back. She indicated that the team had been out of town and asked if they could still help us. What a GOD moment! She asked "what were you guys looking for?" I let her know that mom was a yellow roses kind of girl BUT I knew that last minute flowers (less than 6 hours from the scheduled viewing) were difficult to fulfill and I let Julia know, "Just do what you can." She said, "Hold on just a minute". After a few moments of being on hold, Julia returned to the phone call and stated, "Angela, I have one, unopened package of yellow roses". I couldn't believe it! Remember, they had been out of town and had just stopped by to check the voice mail messages. Julia was the only phone call returned of more than 15 flower shop messages I had left on Friday afternoon!!!! Julia asked what other kind of flowers would we like to be placed on the casket cover. I told her to do whatever she felt led to do since I had already realized this phone call was a GOD moment-I was devastated that we weren't going to have a flower for my beautiful mom but Julia and her team made it happen!! The casket cover delivered was more than I could have ever imagined! It was absolutely breathtaking!!!!!
