Finally have my shutters and shades installed today! If you're a new home owner I'm sure you've found out that the home doesn't come with any window treatments. And if you want something customized like shutters or shades they take a little longer to make. Renee came out to do the first consultation and initial measuring. Katie has always been very responsive to my calls! And Patrick came out to install and everything is just very efficient and professionally done. If anyone is looking for window treatment I'd totally recommend this place. And I've done 3 quotes from Home Depot, 3 day blinds and finally it was through Costco that they outsourced it to the floor store. Thank you guys for helping me with the process! read more

Wonderful experience. Highly recommend them. They fixed a repair that was out of warranty by 6 months. When they discovered that a nail missed by the installers caused the board to warp, they fixed it free of charge. That is customer service and I will tell all my friends that this is the kind of company you want to deal with. I'm a Ridgefield, Washington resident. After hearing your exhuberant ads on Am radio I thought I'd contact your business for a large over 700 sq ft oak flooring job. It's 4:30 Monday July 3. You allegedly close at 5pm. I Just had some simple questions. The recording is horrible. First and evidently foremost is a requirement to wear face masks and social distancing which is a 'yellow flag' alert that I'm dealing with people, not of my conservative views who are still hand wringing over the 'plandemic'. The recording kept cutting off. No tone as when to start. I tried three times to leave a message, but nope, it just cut off and went dead. The tone of the recording reflected a smugness with no genuine hunger for anyone's business, with a 'you need us, we don't need you' tenor. I'd hate to proceed with a firm like yours then get an unresponsive recording concerning some job issues. What's interesting is that 90%of the Am radio ads on 1190 Am turn out be bum business contacts. Not joking either. If you hear it on Am radio, then I'd say steer clear of the promotion regardless of the business. I've had unrelated stories, business wise concerning Am radio reco's. ... Carl T. read more

Had a burst pipe that caused necessitated multiple parts of my downstairs flooring to be removed (and subsequently replaced). Insurance company has a contract with a national vendor which then subcontracts to local vendors -- in the Portland area, it's The Floor Store. I have to say, Joe V with the floor store was absolutely FANTASTIC and more than earned his $. I had multiple requests throughout the process and he was able to handle them all with ease, going above-and-beyond to matters that weren't directly related to the insurance claim at hand. The installer also did a solid job, installing a great product, but again my rating is driven because of the sales rep, Joe. That said, they aren't cheap. Then again, I think you would be hard-pressed to purchase both materials (flooring) AND labor from a company and consider it "inexpensive". If I were to have had to pay out-of-pocket, I'd likely have done the work myself, but if I were to ever need to hire a flooring company, I'd be reaching out to Joe at The Floor Store first. read more

Look at the photos and see for yourself the kind of work they do. ugh;-( We went with Costco and The Floor Store thinking we would have a trouble free premium experience - that didn't happen. After spending upwards of $9,000.00 for product and install. We waited a month to get their "best crews" (they have 16 crews installing). They installed a Caramelized Strand Bamboo flooring the salesman Jim said was 'excellent' throughout Living, Dining, Kitchen, Family rooms. And carpeted 3 bedrooms and a hall. It was a clic flooring so nothing to unusual, it had acclimated in the house for 2+months. I had pointed out areas of the floor to the salesman that I knew would need leveling or some kind of prep. He assured me it was nothing unusual and they did this all time. When they started I saw they were working out of one box at a time. I told them the instructions clearly say to mix boxes.They insisted no it wasn't necessary and even though they came back and fixed one of the really bad places you can see it's actually more than helpful to follow the instructions. What we found with the patch they did do was pulling up the floor and putting it back down leaves seams which are bigger. It just doesn't go together the same way the second time around. Problems: a mix between too big of gaps and almost no expansion/contraction gaps, bouncing and height level gaps and general color weirdness as with no mixing of the boxes easy to see where one box ended and new one began. The carpet they sold us has a running thread (which they didn't inform us about) and I noticed a run had started where the installers put the closet slider door track almost right away. Big gaps along walls. I tried to get the store to do a better job and they referred me to Costco Corporate where I talked with Cameron Smuck, the head of outside sales for flooring. His main concern seemed to be "were they polite, was their yelling?". Yes I told him they were professional no yelling. I called again complaining and asking for something to be done or for a price adjustment and didn't have my my phone call returned. The Floor Store had already sent me to them for resolution. If you think about it Costco is not a good place to use for installed items where they just become an additional middle man that needs a cut of the product. And the Floor Store is too busy to do quality work. I am usually optimistic and I try to work things out. But this was a big fail for me. read more

I worked with a sales representative by the name of Elmer. Elmer was more then willing to take my all cash payment for new hardwood floors. Then the service stopped. He could not remember the discount he promised. When requesting a revised quote it took several reminders and weeks to complete. His communication skills and customer service were non-existing. He did not have any stain samples to show until the floors were in. I was acting as the General contractor instead of Elmer over seeing the contract. I would not recommend this store. This is the second time the Floor Store has helped us with a floor. After visiting the store and looking at samples, we ended up picking a vinyl pattern for our tiny bathroom floor on line, and they were happy to order it for us. From the time we went into the store till the time the installation was done, the process was handled smoothly, despite having to reschedule due to the vinyl being backordered. Elmer (I think he's the owner?) sets the tone for good customer service. He is accessible and easy to deal with. The sales and office staff members were friendly and courteous. Pricing is competitive. The floor was installed by Julio Solano, who subcontracted for Floor Store. He was on time and was friendly, courteous, and professional throughout. He wasn't derailed by the logistical challenges of parking and getting his materials into a downtown, condo. Fairly late during the installation, we had a concern about the orientation of the floor pattern in the room. Julio was receptive to our concern and immediately corrected the problem, and he did so with very good grace. He cleaned up nicely after himself. We're very happy with the end result. read more

I went through Costco for flooring and they came out and did measurements and said he would have the quote in a couple days, a week later nothing so I text to check and no answer for a couple day then a text with an apology and said would get quote next day nothing! Then another week and a text to check on it and again a couple days later a text with apology and said would have next the next day and again nothing. I emailed the Costco coordinator to express my concern with no response from her then I got my quote a couple days later. Then another text to him to ask for the break down of flooring and tear out which he said would be in the quote and haven't gotten a response since been a week and I'm done . Consumer beware. I used this merchant without doing my usual research because the company I used regularly changed names and locations. Much to my disappointment It cost me dearly. The selection is limited and they commited fraud by billing my card on file at a later date for random overcharges without my knowledge. Once I learned of these mistakes that were made on my account they didn't correct them and I had to spend countless hours of my time taking the necessary steps to make them do what was right in the first place. I also feel that I should add that the carpet that they sold to me was supposedly new carpet brand new carpet according to them. It showed up with ink stains and flaws throughout. It looked to be used. Also, they stole from the home materials that were not theirs during their install and after admitting to it claimed it was accidental. Sadly they never returned anything and overcharged my account after the fact. In the end typically all things are replaceable-fixable with the court of law, CCB, Attorney General et....but you can never get back your wasted time. Hence, I'm warning others. read more

Jim came out and showed us flooring but we weren't sure so then their decorator helped us with choices. Long story short, this store did not disappoint! This store sent someone to my home who when I asked if they were vaccinated told me that was a personal decision and did not tell me. Being 78 years old with several medical conditions and a possible costumer I should have been told immediately. I then told him that if he was not vaccinated he needed to leave immediately. He. Had come into my home and had not distance himself at all and further he was using one of those general 40% effective masks. I had not put on my mask yet which means he should have informed me immediately upon coming into my home when asked that he was not vaccinated. I will never do business with this company. read more

I needed laminate to replace aged carpets in my new home, and Jay came out and measured everything on his day off, good start. I picked out a laminate I felt I could live with for the next 10 years and we scheduled a crew to start on my move-in date (a Saturday). They worked all day Saturday and came back Sunday, and would have finished it all but for lack of some finish materials. The Floor Store did a good job for me thanks to their top notch installers, those guys really worked hard. If it weren't for the materials snafu they would have 5 stars, but I'll for sure use them in the future, overall they did a great job at a reasonable price. read more

I didn't pick The Floor Store because of the reviews here. I picked them because they are in one of my favorite neighborhoods and close to where we just purchased our first home. I have a good feeling about them, so it wasn't surprising when I had a really pleasant conversation with one of the guys on the phone this morning to schedule a home consultation. This is the second time we have used the Floor Store. Friendly, knowledgeable, and professional sums up everyone we have dealt with. Mike in sales was very helpful, listening to what we wanted and suggesting carpets that would fit our usage. Answered all our questions (there were many) and offered advise as needed. We asked for Shawn and Gretchen to do the install (they did our rental house about 5 years ago) and once again they did a great job. They work well together as a team and got our house done in a timely manner. Everything looks great. Would use the Floor Store again no question about it. Highly recommend them. read more

I stumbled upon The Floor Store while trying to find a good local business to replace my store's awful carpet. It was a fairly big project, with a lot of square feet and displays, that needed special handling. The owner greeted me and when I told him my needs he knew just what to show me. We went over the footage, time frame etc... and he was on the phone with the installer getting me a good price in no time. I felt very confident about his knowledge and understanding of a retail space's unique needs. I considered checking into other places but somehow I knew, I needed to look no further. You always go into these things with some apprehension and I was to be out of town the first day of installation. We had to have the store closed for the shortest time possible, and that meant they had to be really on top of it. Not only did they house all our materials for the weekend so as not to disrupt our weekend business. They were on time, friendly, helpful and stayed into the night to get our 4 day install estimate down to 2 days with a couple follow ups. Allowing us to put back together the store without everyone being in each others ways. That made all the difference! I am quite certain we would not have been able to open by Friday (losing money every day) if not for their hard work. I was very happy with the entire experience, and would recommend them to anyone. read more

Terrible job on our bamboo flooring in 2012. Didn't match to/patch the sheetrock, so there are holes in the walls. But more importantly, the stairs have massive noses (sticking up rather than being flush) on them despite having a pretty small tread width. I think every one of us in the house has taken a fall down them at this point. It was only midway through the job that they mentioned that this was not an ideal design. I wish they'd said up front "we can't do anything with this stair design and wood, sorry" instead of selling me on something so dangerous. read more

We had a great experience with The Floor Store from start to finish. We were in the process of buying a house that would need a total carpet replacement. We were able to secure one day where the owners would agree to be out of the house and we could have access to bring in estimators. We lined up a few to come in and measure, with the intention of then visiting their showrooms to complete the estimate. The Floor Store was our first stop, and we worked with Jay in picking out the right carpet for our needs and budget. He was incredibly helpful, honest, and friendly, an experience that was not necessarily replicated at other showrooms. When we decided to go with The Floor Store, we found that our job was assigned to the gentleman who had originally measured our house, but he was not as available as we needed. Jay stepped in right away and let us know he would be our contact from then on. He knew we were under some serious time constraints in getting the carpet installation done before our move-in date, and was able to get us in on the dates we needed. Because we were still in the closing process, we were having some pushback from our loan officer because she didn't want us to spend the amount of money that Jay was requesting for a deposit. I mentioned to Jay that we were working that out, and right away he worked with us to get the deposit down to a level acceptable to everyone. I can't stress enough how helpful he was during this stressful process. When the job was finally done, not only did it look great, but their installers finished early! We've been in the house for a month, and so happy with the carpet. I'm not a huge carpet lover, really, so it says a lot that I'm so happy with it. We have a couple of areas that we weren't able to have done to due to our initial budget, but when we're ready to proceed with those we are happily calling TFS again. read more

We needed to replace worn & horrible looking vinyl in the kitchen which was installed in the 1980s and to have the wooden entry sanded and refinished after 20 years of kids and dogs. Called the Floor Store who sent their estimator out within days who did the measuring for the two jobs. Went over to the store & picked out the tile for the kitchen and got the pricing for work and materials. Within two weeks we received a call from Melanie who set the date & time for the work--long story short within less than a month we had our new, beautiful kitchen floor and a refinished entry that looked like new!! Could not be happier and our thanks go out to Elmer the sales rep at the Floor Store, Melanie and the installation team--next time we have a flooring project we will call this organization, of that you can be sure! read more

We were in the middle of a major home renovation and our contractor told us that it would be another 3 weeks before we could get flooring installed. I was panicking as it was about to turn our 4 week project into a 7 week project - way too much disruption. I called the Floor Store on Thursday at 4:45pm and asked what, if anything they could do. Well, they measured our room the very next Monday, and had our new floor installed on Tuesday, started at 8:30am and finished by 2pm. It's absolutely gorgeous. I zeroed in on the Floor Store because they advertised on liberal radio. After many visits, I went to their outlet store, and picked out a dark laminate to lay down in my living room, next to my blonde laminate kitchen floor. The price was reasonable: a few hundred dollars. BUT they charged me $800. for installation. This service included ONE Hispanic man with a van, who showed up at 9 a.m. and left at 5 pm. He was terrific, and single-handedly tore out, disposed of, installed and sat for pictures of my new floor. I wish I had HIS phone number and hope he got at least part of the $800! Further, despite their claim of being experienced FLOOR people, they did not discourage me from buying cheap dark laminate to lay next to my cheap light laminate. My house now looks like a sea of cheap wood substitutes. Many times, I discussed with the Floor Store the viability of laminate for a dog owner. They should know that dogs, (mine, especially) sits at the edge of the room, terrified of walking on the slippery floor! The only good part is that I have acquired carpets to cover the hideous laminate so that my pup won't sit and cry at the corner. In reality, should THe Floor Store be held responsible for my screw ups??? Well, they claim they are self-proclaimed specialists. Specialist at crappy service, if you ask me.... I have been waiting for almost 3 weeks for a quote from the Floor Store for a Corian countertop (for them to install), plus ceramic tile for my floor, tile & glass tile for the backsplash in the kitchen. I was assured I would have the quote within a couple working days. After two weeks, I called the store & asked the original salesperson we had spoken to if they could email the quote. That was about a week or more ago & I still haven't heard from them. The only conclusion that I can come to is that perhaps this is not a big enough project for them. This is a rating for Mike, the Costco Fooring salesman who works out of the Floor Store. Mike is awesome! He was really helpful and knowledgable about flooring, both carpets and wood flooring. While limited to Shaw products for the Costco program he has access to many other products through the floor store. He came to our house and brought product with him and then we went to the floor store where we looked at more product. Ultimately we did not use the Floor Store for the installation of of flooring but Mike did a great job and I would not hesitate to recommend him to help people with their flooring needs. read more
