Great coffee and blueberry/raspberry crumble - yum!

A little gem down south. They cater very well to the GF and vegan market, well any sort of allergy really. Hidden down an alleyway behind a gift shop, this place feels like your quirky aunt's kitchen. Mismatched tables and chairs and a corregated perspex for a roof, this place feels like you are in a converted garage. I really do love it though, with almost an op shop feel. I was here during heavy rainfall and the rain on the roof sounded magical! The staff are always welcoming and friendly and I have never had a bad experience going here 3-4 times. I went up to the cake fridge today with a lovely staff member asking if we need assistance as she had 'tried them all'. I went with a blueberry and raspberry crumble asked if I 'wanted it heated up with ice cream?' UM YES PLEASE. Sided with a soy latte, everything was delish. I have had bigger meals here before including the nachos which being veggie was still quite good! They have a little shop attached which has a nice selection of gifts and nick knacks for the home. Well worth visiting if you are down Port Noarlunga way.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. Great service, bubbly & helpful staff. But the food. Oh. My. God! Amazing!!! Local produce done so well, extensive vego menu and brilliant desserts! Curry night was awesome tonight, cauliflower dhal was fab. But the raw vegan peanut butter cup... *drool*

But now, the staff are great, the menu is diverse and the atmosphere is great. The cafe contains several photographs and paintings from Italy and Europe. This artwork certainly adds a lot of character to the place, as does the comfortable seating near the back of the restaurant. The first time I went, the menu was virtually all seafood. Now there are many other dinner options including pizzas and pasta. I haven't tried these new options yet but they certainly look great. One item that has my attention for my next visit is the Quattro Formmagi (four cheese pizza). They also now have a range of vegetarian pasta options too. Before their new menu, I tried their fish and chips. The chips were decent and fairly crispy with a salad that seemed reasonably fresh too. The fish was decent in size and had a nice thin batter. One thing was that there was not quite enough tartare sauce. I went for breakfast after they introduced their new menu and had their pancakes. For $8, they were quite impressive. They were very fluffy and were served with cream and maple syrup. The edge of the pancake is nice and crispy. I also tried a hot chocolate as well (on a different occasion not to get a sugar overload). The hot chocolate is made with chocolate syrup which does give it quite a rich flavour.

Caesars Cafe was one of those places I avoided like the plague, I went once when it was under a…read moredifferent name, and I had a "why would I bother" attitude. There were plenty of other choices, and I didn't want to waste my time here. But after a failed attempt to eat at Deep Blue Cafe down the road (they don't feed you to well when they're closed), and a quick drive around to see that most other local places are closed on a Monday night, we settled for Caesars. On top of being open on a Monday night, they also have an all you can eat pizza and pasta buffet for just $12.90. Kids eat free. It wasn't our type of thing, but a lot of people seemed to be enjoying it. Instead we picked from the specials menu, a Mediterranean lamb tasting platter and a reef and beef. Both meats were cooked perfectly, and the meals were far better than we expected, but they also didn't blow you away. With the lamb platter things like slightly too dry bread, cheap tasting olives, and an overly garlic yoghurt sauce meant that it was a perfectly nice meal, but just not something to rave about. It seems they have people in the kitchen who know their stuff, but perhaps not the best quality produce. The place itself has that real $9.90 cafe feel. It actually wouldn't have seemed out of place with a giant kids playground A la Wiggley Worms or Play and Fun. But it's a great place for families. There's plenty of room so you're not all squished together, and if the kids end up making a bit of extra noise no body really minds. One of the fun things to do is try and spot the famous faces morphed onto the gladiator mural they have along one all. So far ones we've spotted include Tom Hanks, David Duchovney, Osama Bin Laden (seriously), and a possible Mark Twain. Caesars is nothing special, but it won't be the worst meal you've had, in fact it might actually be quite nice.

Went back today with assurances that with the new manager on duty it had improved greatly from my previous encounters, and it has in fact... but not to a level that I'd like to go back and try it again. My Cappuccino was average and lacking in flavour, as was the cinnamon french toast that I tried. The toast was chewy with barely a taste of cinnamon, most of the flavour from the strawberries and maple syrup that were extras. We were here with my nanna who is currently in a wheelchair, and the coffee club is actually a good place in this kind of circumstance as there is enough room surrounding to park wheelchairs or prams, which is not the case for some of the other coffee shops located in the centre so there is a positive!

I just had a long black which was perfect and not at all bitter like it can be at other cafés. I had this with a ciabatta roll in a combo deal which was great value - around $10 I think. Tastiest ciabatta roll ever, pastrami and coleslaw is an excellent combo and was the perfect size. Even though it's right in the middle of the shopping centre with people walking by all the time it still manages to have a relaxing feel about it. Plenty of seating including lots of comfortable couches. The staff are very friendly and never appear bored or negative. My mum has very specific dietary requirements so she always has to ask for the food to be adjusted. Not once have the staff had a problem with that and some of them have even got to know what she can and can't eat before she even asks. There's a small play area to keep kids entertained and they also serve baby cinos and a good kids menu. Unlike some cafés the kids menu is much more appealing and isn't too unhealthy.
