Delighted to Return, This Hotel Keeps Getting Better I…read morereturned to Dinah's Garden Hotel in September after a wonderful stay earlier in the summer, and once again it exceeded my expectations. This hotel has such a unique atmosphere. Every time I come back, I notice new details that make it feel even more special. The rooms are peaceful, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The bedding is soft and high quality, and the Sicilian blood orange bath products are such a refreshing touch. It's clear that a lot of thought goes into the guest experience. Housekeeping has been consistently excellent on both of my stays; everything is spotless, fresh, and well cared for. The front desk staff continue to be incredibly helpful and welcoming. Whether it's arranging koi food, answering questions, or simply greeting guests with genuine warmth, they set the tone for the whole property. The gardens are truly the heart of this place. The lagoons, koi and ducks, waterfalls, and tropical plantings make you forget you're in the middle of Silicon Valley. I've stayed in many hotels in the area over the years, and nothing else feels like this. A great insider tip: the front desk has small containers of food you can use to feed the koi and ducks. It's simple but surprisingly calming. Dining is another strength here. Dinah's Poolside Restaurant has an inviting menu that's perfect for breakfast or lunch by the water, and The Sea by Alexander's Steakhouse next door serves some of the best seafood in the area. Between the excellent staff, the peaceful rooms, and the gorgeous grounds, Dinah's remains a true local treasure. I'm grateful to have a place like this to return to while my home is being remodeled, and I'm already looking forward to my next stay.

This year, we purchased the Christmas Holiday package, which included a Christmas-themed room and complimentary breakfast, as well as other goodies. It was delightful! I only wish that they had microwaves in the rooms to heat up all the yummy leftovers from their restaurant.

I almost wanted to gatekeep this place. Everything was fantastic here. I booked this place early…read moreand It was around $165 a night. Don't you hate it when other reviewers don't tell you how much they paid? I mean, if you break it down with the free parking (at least $10), the free breakfast (at least $25 for family of 4), the EV charging (at least $15), this place really is quite the bargain. If you come here on Wednesday night there is a manager's reception. Unfortunately, we left Tuesday so no go there. Speaking of parking, it's gated. There is a sense of safety associated with the gated and pass you need on your car when you check in. Yes, there are outdoor parking spots but we had a room next to the service elevator which took us straight to the basement. It was perfect that we didn't have to lug too far. And as for elevators, there are 2 on every floor. One closer to check in and the other the service elevator. The weight room oddly enough is on the 3rd floor. I think my only complaint here was there was no remote for the TV. Other than that, they had free weights, kettlebells, treadmills, exercycles, and one Paleton. The swimming pool unfortunately was out of commission, not that anyone wanted to swim in the cold. Free internet connection was about 10Mb down, just enough for casual use. 4 Tessie chargers and 2 J1772 chargers underground. Free breakfast details. I believe it's 6am to 10pm. There really isn't a lot table for four. I only saw one table like that but there are just enough tables for everyone. As for the food, I wanted to applaud that it was different on both days we were here for the main. They had chorizo and sausage one day and pulled chicken and bacon the next. I also wanted to chime in that the fresh blueberries and blackberries are such a nice tough. Usual oatmeal, waffles, cereal, baked goods (the croissants here are delicious) The negatives: I did wish the coffee in the lobby was hot when we first check in. But that was not a deal breaker. My only gripe here was maybe the bathroom. Water pressure was below average and the shower base looked like they ran out of money remodeling. We utilized their media room with some of our friends whom we've haven't seen in years. We ate there and had a comfortable time as if this was our dining room. If you needed the maids to redo the room, you'll have to contact housekeeping. We were there for 2 nights, definitely did not need help but did wish for more cookies and chocolate :) Oh, very important. There's only 1 entrance here off El Camino and make sure you have your key card at all times because the you'll need it for entry. Big thank you to Holly for getting the exact room we wanted, #416. All the rooms have been updated.

I've stayed here a couple times a year for many years. In the past always had a great experience…read morebut on my most recent stay Dec 3 - Dec 5 2025 the price had gone up a lot ($744 for a 2 night stay in their most basic room even though I booked months in advance). For that much money you would expect a great experience but the hotel decided to cut corners and save money by cleaning the carpets in the guest rooms while people were staying in them. There was a sign in my room saying they were doing all the rooms on a floor the same day. I didn't want people cleaning the carpets while I was staying in the room so I left the do not disturb tag on my door but when I got back to the room on the 2nd day of my stay after working all day they had ignored it. I found the carpets were soaking wet and the room smelled of cleaning chemicals. I initially left my shoes on but the slimy liquid mixture of cleaner and hotel carpet gunk made my shoes slide like I was on ice when stepping off the carpet onto the tiled parts of the room. So then I took the shoes off and didn't slide on the tile but my socks soaked through quickly and became super uncomfortable so I ended up just going barefoot and having to fall asleep with the feeling of gross wet sticky feet. The next morning everything was dry and the carpet seemed normal so the hotel only would have needed a single day without a guest in the room to clean the carpet without impacting the experience of anyone staying there. The tiled parts of the room had also dried into a gross sticky film that was like walking around a terrible dive bar. I got in touch with Hilton after my stay and they weren't interested in the details of what happened. I offered to share pictures showing my experience but they declined them. I asked for a refund for the 2nd night but after putting me on hold for a while they only offered Hilton points. When I declined that they put me back on a hold for a while and then offered a voucher that was good for 1 night only at Homewood Suites. When I declined that they finally offered a partial refund but made it as painful as possible and wouldn't just put it back on my card but instead got my address and claim that they will send me a check that I will have to deal with.

My workplace is…read moreclose-by, and sometimes after lunch we walk through the outside ring parking to reach Middlefield and return to the office. Today, two of us were walking through chatting, and a Meadows property manager/worker yelled at us from across the parking lot, maybe 40 yards away, asking who we were. Thinking he had mental issues or a salesman, we kept walking. He then approached and harassed us, screaming about how we were trespassing, continuing verbal abuse and harassment and followed us until we left the property. We talked quietly, did not approach anyone, hang door tags, play music, or toss trash. We didn't go into the center apartment area. We're both computer professionals. This employee could have gotten on his golf cart and quietly told us sorry we cannot walk thru his parking lot and to kindly exit the premises. Instead, he chose to yell threateningly across a parking lot and come after us with verbal abuse. A good way to judge apartment management is how they treat visitors. Because as residents, you're going to get more of that - or worse. Stay away from this complex.

Meadows is very safe and it's also in a good location - it is right off of Central expressway and it's close to 237 and 101. Apartment was spacious as well. I also thought the gym was great and bigger than a lot of other apartment gyms so amenities as good here. There is a community pool as well. The management company was very responsive with service requests. We had an issue where the central AC was spewing out dead bugs so the maintenance team quickly came in and gave us a new AC. Meadows also hosts some events every couple months (coffee station, Easter egg hunt, food trucks, etc.) which made the apartment complex feel more like a community. One of the drawbacks about this complex is the lack of natural light in the some of the apartments. Because of all the tall redwood trees and the direction of our apartment, we didn't get much light. For the most part, we had our lamps turned on all the time. And because of the trees, leaves would fall into our balcony so we had to frequently clean that up. We decided to leave once the lease was up as we found a place with more natural light closer to our offices and meadows was going to increase the rent by $250 a month. If it wasn't for the light situation, probably would have continued to stay here. Overall I enjoyed living here, and if you are ok with less natural light or you are able to get an apartment facing the right direction, then I recommend!

The afternoon tea we had came with custom menus, four tea sandwiches per person, and a beautiful assortment of desserts. It was more than enough food for one girl. I especially loved that we each were able to enjoy our own teapot, and so we chose the type of tea we each wanted. I had the red tea which was fragrant with a subtle floral undertone. Rosewood is, of course, a beautiful hotel. The dining and patio areas are gorgeous. The staff are friendly and helpful. The private room had a booking fee and a minimum. It was a bit steep but I think the quality of the food reflects it. Everything I tried was well made and thoughtful - not too sweet and a good balance of components for every course. However, the private room felt a bit small, not very luxurious. There was no music playing and so it would feel too quiet when we were not having conversation. If you value privacy, then the private booking is great for you. Otherwise, I'm not sure if it justifies being away from the beautiful main dining room.
