When you first enter the grounds, you do not know what to expect, then you are literally catapulted into what seems like Hawaii. from the ginormous well kept rooms, the glorious art statues sprinkled everywhere, and lastly to the spectacular Koi filled ponds, you forget you are in one of the most busy cities in the Bay Area! Now, let me tell you about their staff. I clearly made a booking mistake and went directly to the front desk. The young lady at the front desk was so accommodating, kind, and helpful. She assisted me quickly and made me feel much better. The grounds and housekeeping staff are also amazing! they're up keep and maintenance of this hotel and the rooms is top-notch and they are all super kind people. I swear I told my husband I don't want to leave.

That we could live with but the three of us then waited more than a half hour (!) at the table before anyone came to check on us and then it was a completely different sever who asked us if we were going to order or not as if it were our fault somehow? WTF. People seated well after us already had their food by then. So we decided not to order as much as we had planned. After we were done I had to get up to find someone to give us the bill. I used to love coming here as a local oasis escape but I think the new management has no clue about customer service. Mostly it was just that the vibe was off and borderline hostile even. It used to be way more friendly. Not what I've been used to here at all. So disappointing. I feel bad if they are understaffed but they can maybe make an effort to be more attentive. Or apologetic about the wait time? My friends and I said never again since one of my group said she'd had a similar experience here recently. Oh and beware - their website does not reflect their current menus or happy hour times (not sure they even do that anymore as they have not bothered to update it yet). Please get it together guys. Come on. I used to even book a staycation room once in a while but I dread what that would be like now, ugh. Goodbye for now Dinah's! Boo.

My workplace is…read moreclose-by, and sometimes after lunch we walk through the outside ring parking to reach Middlefield and return to the office. Today, two of us were walking through chatting, and a Meadows property manager/worker yelled at us from across the parking lot, maybe 40 yards away, asking who we were. Thinking he had mental issues or a salesman, we kept walking. He then approached and harassed us, screaming about how we were trespassing, continuing verbal abuse and harassment and followed us until we left the property. We talked quietly, did not approach anyone, hang door tags, play music, or toss trash. We didn't go into the center apartment area. We're both computer professionals. This employee could have gotten on his golf cart and quietly told us sorry we cannot walk thru his parking lot and to kindly exit the premises. Instead, he chose to yell threateningly across a parking lot and come after us with verbal abuse. A good way to judge apartment management is how they treat visitors. Because as residents, you're going to get more of that - or worse. Stay away from this complex.

Lived in meadows apartment for a year and it was great! The greenery and all the beautiful trees…read moremade the complex feel like a little forest. Meadows is very safe and it's also in a good location - it is right off of Central expressway and it's close to 237 and 101. Apartment was spacious as well. I also thought the gym was great and bigger than a lot of other apartment gyms so amenities as good here. There is a community pool as well. The management company was very responsive with service requests. We had an issue where the central AC was spewing out dead bugs so the maintenance team quickly came in and gave us a new AC. Meadows also hosts some events every couple months (coffee station, Easter egg hunt, food trucks, etc.) which made the apartment complex feel more like a community. One of the drawbacks about this complex is the lack of natural light in the some of the apartments. Because of all the tall redwood trees and the direction of our apartment, we didn't get much light. For the most part, we had our lamps turned on all the time. And because of the trees, leaves would fall into our balcony so we had to frequently clean that up. We decided to leave once the lease was up as we found a place with more natural light closer to our offices and meadows was going to increase the rent by $250 a month. If it wasn't for the light situation, probably would have continued to stay here. Overall I enjoyed living here, and if you are ok with less natural light or you are able to get an apartment facing the right direction, then I recommend!

This review is for the dining areas at Rosewood Sand Hill, including Madera Restaurant, Madera Bar,…read moreand Bici Coffee. The hotel is located right by SLAC, tucked into a hillside setting in Menlo Park. The property feels peaceful, elegant, and very well maintained. Madera Restaurant offers a full upscale dining menu and is a great choice for lunch, dinner, a business meal, date night, or a special occasion. Madera Bar is perfect for cocktails, wine, and light bites in a more relaxed but still refined atmosphere. Bici Coffee is a nice option for coffee, pastries, or a casual stop for bikers if you do not want a full sit-down meal. Rosewood Sand Hill is also a nice place for a tea party or an afternoon gathering with friends. One of the best parts is the view from the hill. I like how you can partially see the highway from the restaurant, but you cannot really hear it, so the setting feels very calm and secluded. Occasionally, you can see some movement in the distance, but if you were not looking in that direction, you probably would not even notice it. Because of that, the whole place feels very private and relaxing. Visiting Rosewood Sand Hill feels like you have been transported somewhere away from Silicon Valley, even though you are actually right in the middle of it, just a walking distance from SLAC, the particle accelerator, and Zoox's autonomous vehicles. That contrast makes the experience even more interesting: you are surrounded by the Silicon Valley's technology and innovation, but the atmosphere feels secluded, quiet, luxurious, and almost like a retreat.

All the deets: We started our stay with complimentary EV charging and a golf cart ride to our cottage. From the moment we arrived, the service felt effortless and welcoming. No snobby or stuffiness. The room had an epon feel with high ceilings, a large walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the lawn and fountain. It was the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast and if you get lucky maybe see some of the bunnies that run around the property. Next stop: the pool. Swim, eat, repeat. The staff regularly came around with complimentary tastings from the menu, and more than once we ended up ordering the item they brought - spicy tuna tostadas at the top of the list! The saltwater pool was fantastic, although I was glad I packed goggles(your eyes may not appreciate salty water it as much as the rest of you). The pool menu is relatively small but thoughtfully curated, with every item we tried delivering on quality and flavor. In the evening, we got ready and walked over to dinner at Madera. A separate review is coming, but dining on the deck while watching the sunset was a highlight of the stay. The halibut seemed to be the popular choice around us and looked incredible. Fork ordered the ribeye steak, while Spoon went with the mushroom ragù. Both dishes were excellent and a perfect end to the day. Final verdict: Rosewood Sand Hill delivers luxury without feeling stuffy. Between the beautiful grounds, attentive service, excellent food, and relaxing atmosphere, it's an easy recommendation for a staycation or special occasion.
