The apartment is exactly like the photos and video, and the owners couldn't be nicer or more helpful - right from the start with excellent communication to get moved in and a few amenities in place for us. The kitchen is great - it has everything you need to cook at home and is comfortable to be in. (I spend a lot of time there!) The rooms are a nice size for us, and there's a good amount of storage. I love the floor and decor - it really is very home-y. The complex itself is very green and lush. Neighbors, when we see them, are friendly but generally keep to themselves. It's usually pretty quiet and some of the neighbors apparently also cook, so each evening it smells great outside. The pool is just outside of the patio and the laundry room is very close. (We planted some flowers outside so if you're here, please water them, and use the basil and stevia! :) Apartment location is great. You can walk down the magnolia tree-lined street to a good Chinese restaurant around the corner. There's also a 7-11, laundromat and, a little farther (but still walkable), a huge shopping center with everything from Kohl's to Sprouts, Whole Foods, more restaurants, bank, etc. Lots of people here ride bicycles, and there's a foot/bike path in the neighborhood that has a very pretty short cut to Palo Alto. A quick car or bike ride will get you to downtown Mountain View with lots to do and places to eat. We feel very fortunate to have found the Flat and new friends in Rambo and his family. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Los Altos or Palo Alto!

He answered all our questions regarding supplies etc. in the apartment and the area around the apartment, like shopping (3 minutes by car), playgrounds (3 minutes walk), public transport (10 minutes walk) and some possible trips. The flat itself was clean and everything was exactly where it should be. Nice furniture suitable also for children, all necessary kitchen tools and all other supplies. We stayed together with our baby and the apartment has everything you need for a trip like this. The community is quiet and you can't hear the busy world outside of it. Our car was parked safely inside the gated community. We really enjoyed the flat in Mountain View and will likely return if possible.

The hotel is located right by SLAC, tucked into a hillside setting in Menlo Park. The property feels peaceful, elegant, and very well maintained. Madera Restaurant offers a full upscale dining menu and is a great choice for lunch, dinner, a business meal, date night, or a special occasion. Madera Bar is perfect for cocktails, wine, and light bites in a more relaxed but still refined atmosphere. Bici Coffee is a nice option for coffee, pastries, or a casual stop for bikers if you do not want a full sit-down meal. Rosewood Sand Hill is also a nice place for a tea party or an afternoon gathering with friends. One of the best parts is the view from the hill. I like how you can partially see the highway from the restaurant, but you cannot really hear it, so the setting feels very calm and secluded. Occasionally, you can see some movement in the distance, but if you were not looking in that direction, you probably would not even notice it. Because of that, the whole place feels very private and relaxing. Visiting Rosewood Sand Hill feels like you have been transported somewhere away from Silicon Valley, even though you are actually right in the middle of it, just a walking distance from SLAC, the particle accelerator, and Zoox's autonomous vehicles. That contrast makes the experience even more interesting: you are surrounded by the Silicon Valley's technology and innovation, but the atmosphere feels secluded, quiet, luxurious, and almost like a retreat.

All the deets: We started our stay with complimentary EV charging and a golf cart ride to our cottage. From the moment we arrived, the service felt effortless and welcoming. No snobby or stuffiness. The room had an epon feel with high ceilings, a large walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the lawn and fountain. It was the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast and if you get lucky maybe see some of the bunnies that run around the property. Next stop: the pool. Swim, eat, repeat. The staff regularly came around with complimentary tastings from the menu, and more than once we ended up ordering the item they brought - spicy tuna tostadas at the top of the list! The saltwater pool was fantastic, although I was glad I packed goggles(your eyes may not appreciate salty water it as much as the rest of you). The pool menu is relatively small but thoughtfully curated, with every item we tried delivering on quality and flavor. In the evening, we got ready and walked over to dinner at Madera. A separate review is coming, but dining on the deck while watching the sunset was a highlight of the stay. The halibut seemed to be the popular choice around us and looked incredible. Fork ordered the ribeye steak, while Spoon went with the mushroom ragù. Both dishes were excellent and a perfect end to the day. Final verdict: Rosewood Sand Hill delivers luxury without feeling stuffy. Between the beautiful grounds, attentive service, excellent food, and relaxing atmosphere, it's an easy recommendation for a staycation or special occasion.

Now, let me tell you about their staff. I clearly made a booking mistake and went directly to the front desk. The young lady at the front desk was so accommodating, kind, and helpful. She assisted me quickly and made me feel much better. The grounds and housekeeping staff are also amazing! they're up keep and maintenance of this hotel and the rooms is top-notch and they are all super kind people. That we could live with but the three of us then waited more than a half hour (!) at the table before anyone came to check on us and then it was a completely different sever who asked us if we were going to order or not as if it were our fault somehow? WTF. People seated well after us already had their food by then. So we decided not to order as much as we had planned. After we were done I had to get up to find someone to give us the bill. I used to love coming here as a local oasis escape but I think the new management has no clue about customer service. Mostly it was just that the vibe was off and borderline hostile even. It used to be way more friendly. Not what I've been used to here at all. So disappointing. I feel bad if they are understaffed but they can maybe make an effort to be more attentive. Or apologetic about the wait time? My friends and I said never again since one of my group said she'd had a similar experience here recently. Oh and beware - their website does not reflect their current menus or happy hour times (not sure they even do that anymore as they have not bothered to update it yet). Please get it together guys. Come on. I used to even book a staycation room once in a while but I dread what that would be like now, ugh. Goodbye for now Dinah's! Boo.

Here are some things to know: Guesthop will not help with trash removal- it is not something they do. If you cancel, Guesthop will take 50% of your earnings for any booking they obtained when you had them; that's right, 50 PERCENT. We are still paying them even though we canceled on August 8th. I just sent another check for $500...ugh. Ultimately, we will have paid them nearly as much as we earned for those 30 days. They will completely control your Airbnb calendar and charge whatever price they like. They dropped our nightly fee from $139 to $113 without our knowledge. We are now back up to $139 and fully booked without them. So far, we have paid Guesthop over $2,000 to manage our property for 30 days; our earnings were $5,000.00, AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO PAY THEM FOR MONTHS, even though we canceled. Keep in mind this does not include payment to cleaning staff. This payment is what Guesthop got for making phone calls and managing our calendar. When we had an issue, we still made multiple phone calls and went by the property to manage matters ourselves. We had someone break the window. Guesthop called one glass company, who gave an estimate for $2700, stating the entire window frame needed replacement. We said no; we got the glass replaced and had the pulley on the window replaced when we got home for $10. In addition, guesthop did not attempt to help us - stating the broken window was our fault. Even though three other professionals noted the damage was impact-related (i.e., someone threw something or put their hand through the window). The cleaning staff is excellent, and our property always looked lovely. If you would like someone else to manage your calendar, that's excellent, but we want to see our comments and what our guests are requesting or need. Guesthop takes away all access to your Airbnb listing. We learned our lesson: READ the contract carefully! We have found an excellent manager to work with that meets our needs. Final advice: shop around before you sign up with Guesthop.

We were familiar with the wonderful work Janis had done for two close friends, selling their country properties, and we were equally pleased with her work with us. Janis is very organized, exceptionally professional and was a pleasure to work with during our entire process. Having bought our property in 1989, we were not current with all the changes for selling property in 2019. Fortunately for us, Janis is a pro and was very patient and clear, teaching us about all the new rules and regulations. She made sure we understood the compliance issues at every step of the process. We also learned that selling rural properties is unique because they are much more than just selling "a house" and it usually takes longer than selling homes alone. Janis explained that it was important to prepare our property in such a way that it made it ready and easy for potential buyers to understand all that we had done to get it available for selling. She had a list of "to do's" that were important, showing buyers that even as an "as is" sale, much was done to have our property ready to buy and move into comfortably. Janis also carefully guided us through our task of completing a long list of mandatory disclosures that were required for us to do, and as a result, buyers could see clearly what had been done to prepare the property and also what things were not going to be done. Once all the work was completed on disclosures, upgrades such as painting our home inside and out, making repairs, simple staging and beautifying the outside areas surrounding the house were done, and we were ready to show the property. Janis started this phase with a Broker Tour, then we scheduled a number of Open Houses, and then we continued showing with individual requests from clients with their Agents. Over many months this process went on with various potential buyers who had lots of different ideas for their dream uses for our property. Janis never failed to invite and show the property to whomever was interested. Finally, in the end, our perfect Buyers made their offer. Janis's patience and hard work lead us to a successful experience and sale.

I've known Jan for several years and we've gone through a number of home purchase offers as well as…read moreselling my house recently. Her knowledge of the real estate geography of the area, the buying and selling process along with her integrity, kindness, thoroughness and frankly, doggedness made the experience of working with her a pleasant experience . I can cite two specific instances where she made the difference in a potential purchasing and selling transaction. The first was when I was considering buying a property when there was sketchy information of the property's history. Rather than simply moving the process along, she insisted on finding out more detail related to the septic system, which in retrospect, though I didn't purchase the property, would have ended up costing me much more after the purchase. She saved me tens of thousands of dollars in potential hidden costs thanks to her due-diligence. The second was related to the recent sale of my home of 15 years. Her insistence on getting a third-party to measure the square footage of the home yielded a larger number than what was listed, and brought the fact to my attention, which yielded a better price (and an honest assessment) for the home. I would strongly recommend Janis's services to anyone interested in buying or selling a home and look forward to my next real estate engagement with her.
