If you have an injury, tell them. If you are there for four or more days, make two appointments so you don't end up sore. It is a better for an injury not to do too much. I have a leg and hip injury where I need massage and stretching by people that know what they are doing. Augustine was constantly checking in on how I was doing. They ask you what you are comfortable with. Do you prefer this or that? You can keep all your clothes on to stripping down to the disposable thong. You are always covered. The Fix Room is a little oasis of calm and serenity on Calle de la Cruz, just moments away from the bustle of Puerta del Sol, and just upstairs from the dozens of bars and restaurants lining the little streets of this barrio. I've had maybe five massages now and every visit has been absolutely wonderful. Lourdes is puro amor and a genius with her hands. I can say honestly that I'm quite certain that she knows and understands my body better than I do. I've left her studio feeling like new after arriving with debilitating sciatic pain, pulled and strained muscles, and even just to enjoy a general "relaxing" massage. I love that she uses her own body weight - and her knees, elbows, and hands - to really give you a deep, therapeutic massage. At 50€ the hour, it's not the cheapest massage parlor you'll find in the center, but if what you really want is physically reparative, noticeably effective massage, then your money couldn't be better spent. First impression: This place is a bit sketchy and I hope I don't get kidnapped. The place was difficult to find as well as the actual address is for the restaurant right below. Look to the right of the jardin restaurant and push the buzzer inside the gated area. Masseuse: Very sweet and personable! She did not speak English very well but that wasn't a big deal or a problem at all. (I wish I could remember her name ahhh) Massage: The massage started out very gentle and slow. I was almost afraid that I was going to get ripped off because the masseuse was generally running her fingertips on my skin. It was relaxing none the less. After the "fingertip warm up session" she started the massage the way I am used to. It was WONDERFUL! She did a great job! She even massaged my face, like, my actual face (cheeks, forehead, chin, etc). I've never had a masseuse do that before and it was really nice! Price: Well, coming from the U.S. the prices are exceptional. I think the prices for this area are pretty good too as I checked a couple other places and a 60 minute session was going for 75+ euros. I did the 60 minute session for 40 euros. It was well worth it! Overall: Don't get scared off by the difficulty in finding the place and don't let the "warm up sesh" freak you out. I was walking around Madrid and had a recent running injury which made my walking painful. I thought the trip was ruined. I scheduled a massage at The Fix Room with Agustin who worked on the knot in my back and brought relief. He's amazing and as a result the rest of my trip was pain free. I would highly recommend this place and him. He uses full body pressure to work your back. Speaks English too. Very professional and courteous.
