    Staff is very nice and knowledgeable. And yes you have to let them know when you are ready to get fish. No biggie.....

    We were very hesitant at first because a lot of reviews I'd read I lie referred to this place as a…read morepuppy mill or purveyor of factory type dogs. We were in a situation where adoption from a humane society or rescue was not panning out (we looked for over a year for the type of dog we needed for our family needs) so we decided to research breeders and puppy adoptions. On a whim we decided to check out the pet doctor as we personally knew a couple of people who knew some of the employees. When you first walk in it does have the feel of the old pet stores you used to see in malls in the 90s with the glass wall and kennels lined against the wall behind the glass with puppies barking and playing, vying for attention from visitors. We spoke to one of be owners upon our arrival and explained our needs. She showed us the last remaining puppy of a recent litter and he was well socialized and healthy. She also explained her experiences with the breed and showed us photos of her own dog of the same breed. She explained the warranty of health and life guarantee. As long as you vet your animal everything seems as expected for purchasing a puppy. We picked him up later in the day as we had other shopping to do around town. Another lady helped us upon pickup and was also friendly and helpful. She provided us with some free food (we also purchased some puppy food) and rubbed some toys we'd purchased on his kennel mate so he would have a familiar scent in his new home. We took him home with validation of health and shot records and he took took to our family immediately. He's potty training well and appears to be in perfect health. He even slept through his first night with minimal whining. The puppies here are not cheap, but not out of line from what people ask on Facebook swap pages or regional newspaper classified ads. Do your research on breeds and average sale prices before making a decision. A puppy of any breed or cost is an investment and you have to be prepared to care for them like a child. We would definitely recommend Pet Doctor to anyone looking for a new puppy for their family.

You get what you pay for, that's for sure. If you love your critters, steer clear of this place! Andi, the owner is beyond RUDE. The company is not known for speed, and the drop off and pickup process even before Covid was terrible. The reason I'm reviewing today is because of the indifference of the front desk and management I received. After a 20 minute wait to drop off this morning, I was told I would receive a call to pickup my dog between 12 and 1. Perfect timing because it covered both mine and my wife's lunches with room to spare. They did not text us until after 2 to let us know they were finished. By then, we were in meetings because of the later time and we picked him up just after 4. They charged us for half of a day boarding because they "had him most of the day". I asked to have it removed because we were there as soon as possible and weren't notified he was ready until after 2 which was after we were told we would be notified to get him. I asked when the fee is assessed and the person at the front desk said I don't know after an hour or so. The manager did not come out to speak to me regarding the issue. If we were given a time of when this fee would have been assessed or if we were told it was a thing at all, we would have made alternate arrangements to have him picked up. When it takes your team 3/4 of your operating hours to groom, you're doing something wrong. As such, we will not be returning. *Edit 11/4/20 The manager or owner Andi followed up after my initial review here, removed the extra charge for boarding and apologized for the experience. She offered a free grooming. I appreciated the offer and the show of good faith for the experience. Today, we called the company to schedule the free grooming, but were advised that until our review was edited, they would be unable to honor the previous offer. We advised that our review wouldn't be changed until we knew we had a better experience. They continued to decline their original offer, so I have now followed through on their request to edit my original review. Rating changed from 2 to 1 stars.

    I have usually had very good service at Petco and took advantage of their Petco rewards etc…read more I tried their Vet clinic for my new cat. After my first visit the suggested I pay for a fecal lab test so so I had to do was drop off the sample. Great! I had scheduling difficulties, illnesses and had to cancel a scheduled appointment for to the vet bring ill. During this time I decided to just take my cat to my regular vet. I caked Petco for a refund. The told me they would have to submit a request for a refund and they would let me know. I received a call from the Lincoln office manager, who informed me that she would have to submit a request but she didn't think they would approve the refund. I was not happy and told her I wasn't asking permission for a refund I was telling them I wanted my money back. She then told me that in order to get the refund I would have to show up in person with my ORIGINAL receipt. She was not kind on how she spoke to me. And I said I don't think I have it, just could she at least submit the request. I also said that they never told me when I prepaid that I might not get a refund. They have everything in the computer so why do I need a receipt? She then told me that I should have read the refund policy on the bottom of the receipt I'm so glad that I found out how corporate this place is... I made a terrible mistake thinking they actually cared about my pet. I don't believe they do...I think it's just another was for a big corporation to make money in disguise of pet care. They got my money so I will take my cats stool sample in and that will be the last dollar Petco ever gets out of me. I will not even buy dog and cat food from them anymore.

The biggest pro I can find is that most of the employees I've interacted with have been incredibly polite and helpful. In my most recent visit I was back in the fish area for a while and an employee walked by me a few times but never said anything, no hello or could they help me find anything. However, like I mentioned, all the other employees have been friendly and courteous. The downside to this location is that it seems like the bare minimum is done to upkeep the aquarium area. (I can't comment on other pet sections being as I don't shop in them or use them.) Every time I go in I like to stop and see the bettas, and have even purchased one here. There are quite a few that are obviously dead, and have been sitting in the display for a while since I've seen the display change when they moved moss balls to show new baby bettas. However, I do like the selection of bettas they do have, and felt more confident buying one here than at supermarket fish sections. Another time I went in to purchase a snail and the employee asked if I knew which one I wanted because most of them were dead. I don't understand then why the dead ones would be kept in the tank, littering the gravel bottom. The saltwater tanks were dirty and empty, and there was still stock being left in the aisles. The live plant section also had stock that was clearly dried up and dead. I understand that a lot of live things might not have a long shelf life, but they should be removed once it's obvious they're not with us anymore. This location needs more employees per shift. I've had to walk around the store for a few minutes just trying to find someone, going so far to ask another customer if they've seen an employee walking around to help me get a fish, and even then they were running around everywhere trying to help multiple people at once. They also only let managers help when picking up online orders, meaning you might have to wait while one has a spare moment to help. Each time I've come in there's only been one cashier working. I feel that there'd be less disorganization and uncleanliness if more employees were present. The prices are for the most part reasonable, though it's always a good idea to go online and order to pick up in the store since I have noticed the prices tend to be a bit lower online. I'll probably keep coming here since it is the closest pet store, but I do hope improvements are made to not only the live animal sections, but to getting the store more employees to lighten the load for the ones already there.
