The Fish Factory is a great little aquarium shop. I've purchased a few things here over the years and have always been pleased with my experience. Beyond fish, I've also purchased some really hearty and healthy aquarium plants here. Their selection is lovely and their prices are very reasonable. The workers are always happy to help and very knowledgeable. It's not the largest shop in town but the quality is second to none. Get to it! read more

Good store, great plants, nice fish selection. Everything you need as far as setting up a good aquarium. The staff know what they're talking about and are helpful. I like that they don't bother me unless I ask for help. I would check it out. read more

nice clean store. they take good care of their fish, especially the betta section. however, they are pricey. I bought a 2.3 gallon 5 compartment betta tank there for $79.99 but just 5 minutes down the road Aquatic unlimited sells the same exact tank for only $62.99. read more

Started a monthly maintenance with Tyler of cleaning my tanks, and boy! He is very good at what he does, he's very knowledgeable, polite and I can ask him anything about my fish and he helped me a lot. Hope he continues to service my aquariums! Denny Patterson read more

I love this store! selections are great never had any unhealthy fish from them. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. I can always go to them with any questions from how to set up the tanks correctly and which plants are suitable for my different tanks. I love that they always greet me with nice hello the minute I walk in. Prices are comparable to other shops in the area so it is a no-brainer for me to drop my money at the place where I am treated with kindness and respect unlike some other shops where I have to hunt down someone to get help. read more

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable anytime I stop in. Their selection of live plants and fish are great. It seems they care more for their animals much more than big name pet stores. The great customer service alone keeps me coming back. read more

Well was bored and wanted to drive all the way to Wisconsin to see what aquatic pet shops they had. I usually go to best fish but there were two others and this was one of them in downtown Milwaukee so far their freshwater or their stock of freshwater fish is much better than back in Chicago. Especially since I saw they had weather loaches which were less than $15 each. To buy weather loach is now in Illinois if not Chicago in general is either expensive or rare. I did see one store that I like in south suburb of Chicago called animal Krackers in Marquette Park but they were small weather loaches and they cost $50 each. Despite that I drove all the way up to Milwaukee just for the hell of it at least it was cheaper buying weather loaches here. They also had one unusual red Grammy I never saw in any pet shop. Solely disappointment was they didn't have certain other exotics like hi fin shark which I found in Chinatown. Other than that if you have a bucket list and can drive up from Chicago to Milwaukee do come here. Red fire gourami and calico female Bettas I never seen it heard of read more

Had some issues at first, but they called and worked everything out. The owner seems great.

So, where do I start? After moving to the area over a year ago, I could never get my tank stabilized. Chain pet store Employees gave different advice every few days and I bought and lost many fish. Finally, I made it over to see Steve at Fish Factory. He guaranteed me that if I followed his process, it would fix my cloudy green tank in 7 days. He gave me his cell, I sent him photos with progress and we discussed and he made more recommendations. Finally, my tank is sparkling, crystal clear with happy active tropical fish. Thank You!!! read more

Watch out. Parasites are part of the hobby but make sure to inspect your purchase. Bought 4 fish and two had visible ich cysts. This after the guy told me they slacked on their quarantine process since they trust the seller. The fish is still stressed after shipping and im sure the store tanks have plenty of ich. Anyways I did the rookie thing and added them into the community tank already since they were active and eating. Saw the cysts immediately after when they were under the aquarium light. read more

Hey extremely helpful staff, great variety of fish, prices are very good and they have a nice inventory. Will absolutely be returning

I just dropped in from out of town and was so pleased to see this store is still here! I have such fond memories of buying goldfish as a little girl from this place! It hasn't changed much except it smells cleaner than it used to haha. And the big shark tank isn't there anymore but it's still a little wonderland to me. I think the fish trade is controversial but it's nice to see a small business continuing to thrive competing with big box pet stores. Keep swimming fish factory! read more

After going to just about every fish store this city has to offer I finally found the the one. They were very helpful and never caught an attitude while i asked questions (and i asked alot). I'll be a faithful customer for years to come. read more

I'd just like to say that the fish factory is the only pet store in the area that does things right. I've visited a couple different fish stores in the area & this one sticks out like a 6th toe as the best one. Here are my reasons why: first, their customer service is unmatched. They really want to make sure that you have the best experience possible when buying pets. Second, their staff is extremely knowledgeable, they have an answer for every question except 1. That question is how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop . Third, the quality of the fish is unmatched guaranteed. I don't ever purchase anything in there & think that I might have to return a pet because it died or anything. These are a few reasons why I think the fish Factory is the best. I'll cap this off with a quick story. I remember when I first started an aquarium I had a 10 gallon tank without a stand & without any fish. I told the owner that I needed a pump when I was asked by him if I needed help finding anything. Long story short he told me that the water needs beneficial bacteria, so he got me a little bag with some bacteria from his tank & told me to pour it in my tank before I add the fish. a year later I still have my very first fish that I bought. thanks to the fish factory, I've upscaled & have many more fish in my 72 bow front soon to be 150 gal. Thanks fish factory!!! read more

The Fish Factory - A couple of African cichlids - Aquarium Services Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Cool store but getting someone - anyone - to approach you and say "Can I help you?" is apparently way too much to ask here. Prices are pretty much on pace with other stores - you can save a little if you pay them $35/year to be in their club. No thanks. I'd rather go somewhere else where I'm welcomed to the store and employees talk to me as if they want my business. read more

I was reffered here to meet with Logan. This kid knows his stuff. If your looking for someone with fishology go see Logan!! I love this store! Healthy fish. Beautiful displays. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. I am a fancy goldfish girl and its hard to find healthy goldfish in stores. This store has not only healthy fish, but a good variety. They have breeds i havent seen in years! Makes me want to buy more tanks so i can get more and more fish! -Also, the staff didnt laugh at me when i told them about my goldfish obsession. read more

Staf is friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and patient! I went there with two small kids and not once did I get that vibe that we were annoying or that they wanted us to leave. We are beginners at fish keeping and their was no pressure by staff for us to buy anything that we weren't ready for or didn't need. The tanks were immaculate. I could also tell that the staff just wanted our fish to be happy and live....they offer water testing (free or super cheap...can't recall) and answered questions for me over the phone when I called after our purchase. I am going back to buy first pets for my young daughter there today. read more

Staff was friendly. The guy working there today engaged me and asked me about my own saltwater tank and answered questions I had about pricing and invertebrates. Clean tanks. Some of the prices seemed a bit higher than what I'm used to paying at shops in Illinois and Chicago but was a nice place! read more

This LFS had a great staff and very informative, but they do in a way pressure you in buy items that you really don't need right away and even catch them in being untruthful about "being the only ones" or "it running out every where". Prices are alright, little higher than other LFS. Saltwater options are very limited with coral and fish selection, lot of freshwater stock though. read more
