Bought a fireplace from them several years ago and have had to buy a couple of additional things along the way. Always great service.

I purchased a Pellet Fireplace insert for our home 60 miles from the Pittsburg Store and 90 miles from Joplin Store. The installer did a good job putting it in but I was a little fuzzy about how to use it and use the remote thermostat. Then when we tried to use it the unit worked just fine for 20 minutes then stopped dropping pellets. The repair man tcame but we had to wait about a week because they had to drive 90 miles. Then we started the stove again and it ran this time for 60 minutes and stopped dropping pellets. So I called the Joplin store again and they said they would try to move a couple service calls around and contact me on Monday morning. So Monday morning came and went so I called at 2:30 and was told the appointment they moved around was the afternoon next Tuesday. My main gripe other than a new products did not work from day one was when I called I was told the 90 miles they had to travel was pretty far. Which means if 90 miles is too far for a service call then they should not have sold me the stove in the first place! read more

This is in addition to my previous review. The cons: During installation I had to insist that the installer check that the battery powered lighting feature worked. He tried to refuse because "it should work". He just wasn't very thorough. Then I found sooty handprints on my walls. My insert is in the basement. If it's on then the furnace hardly ever kicks on. It's now January and my gas bill did go up slightly but for the pleasure the fireplace provides and the peace of mind, knowing my house would be warm in the event of an ice storm or something knocking out the electricity, it's worth it to me. Excellent service. They have a great selection to choose from. I've bought several fireplaces and outdoor pellet grills from them.

This is the second time I have called on them to come out and look at my Quadra-fire pellet stove. The first time was December 2019 BEFORE COVID and they never returned my calls and never showed up. Skip ahead to January 2021 and I call again and they say they will have someone call me right away. Well he finally called me today, March 18. Needless to say, I got someone else from another fireplace store that does not work on Quadra-fires to recommend someone and I called the guy and he came out the next day repaired my stove in less than an hour and we had wonderful heat during the -18 degree weather we had in February. Also, I had even gone into the store a few days after I made the call in January and told them I needed a repair and that I had called and no one had returned my call and they didn't really seem to care about it. I do not recommend this place at all. If I could give less than 1 star I would. read more

We bought a Napoleon grill from fireplaces and more in Grove. Owned by the same people as Joplin. We had it maybe a month and it caught fire. It was a malfunction of the grill. We called the store as was told they would fix it just bring it back to the store. So we did. Then they said they need to bring it back to take pictures of it on the deck. So they did. It is still here they took pictures and left it. The guy left it in our yard, we had to put in on the deck he couldn't do it. If you are looking for anything at Fireplaces and more. Please choose somewhere else to buy it. If it breaks they do not make it good. DO NOT waste your money here! read more

The manager here really knows his stuff. Travis answered all of my questions and told me about some important things I didn't even think to ask about! The guys that installed my wood insert didn't make a mess in my home and the stone work that they did was just beautiful. I strongly recommend this business. read more
