We had your fish dinner yesterday and it was very good! We really liked the coleslaw and the hush puppies but it was all good.

Fine stop for breakfast. Small diner, a little worn, but the prices and the food are on point.

Great food and prices, normally very good customer service. The only thing that could improve, is the atmosphere. The building is very old.

Bourbon Café and Coffee Saloon is a charming little local café with an inviting, homey atmosphere…read morethat makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. It's the kind of place you instantly know you'll want to return to. This was our first time here and we were go glad we made the little trip down to Bourbon, MO! We ordered the bacon and egg panini, and it was cooked perfectly. Whatever homemade seasoned butter they use deserves special recognition--it added so much flavor and made an already great sandwich even better. Of course, the dessert case was impossible to ignore. Everything looked incredible, and choosing was no easy task. We finally settled on a pecan brownie and a sea-salt chocolate chip gooey butter cake slice. Both were fantastic, but the gooey butter cake completely stole the show. Hands-down, it was the absolute best gooey butter cake I have ever had--and I've tried many from plenty of bakers over the years. This single slice may have changed my outlook on life. They've set the bar so high that I honestly don't know how anyone else could top it. Warmed up just as the owner suggested, it was melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a tender, flaky crust and incredible flavor. Absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely be back again--and you should go too!

I visited this special cafe on June 27th, 2026, on my way back to Chicago from Branson, MO. I…read morecannot say enough positive things about Bourbon Cafe. The owner, Michelle, was so welcoming. She did an excelling job telling us about their specials. It was obvious not only were they passionate about the quality of their ingredients, but so much love and thoughtfulness went into every food item and beverage. The coffee is roasted on site every Wednesday and is delicious (and refills were free for dine-in customers...waitresses were coming asking if you'd like a top off regularly). My husband had the Cuban panini with a cup of chicken noodle soup (amazing) and I had the Three Blind Mice panini "dilly dilly style" with a cup of their curried squash soup (also, all amazing). We weren't planning on getting a dessert, but after everything else was fantastic, and you see the desserts in the display counter...you just have to! We split a piece of their Reese's Peanut Butter Triple Chocolate cake...served warm with a side of homemade whipped cream. Let's just say, I'll be dreaming about that cake for the rest of my life! But above the delicious homemade food, desserts, and coffee was the heart of the cafe. This is a place you come and sit and make new friends. The seating is set up for you to stay a while and share a table with another smiling face and have conversations--face to face. I don't think I saw a single person alone scrolling on their phones or on their laptop. We met a lovely local gentleman named Dennis who came and sad with us. He was so kind and told us so much local history. We left feeling refreshed and cared for. The quote on the back of the waitresses' shirts is one from the great Dolly Parton, "If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours." And let me tell you, everyone we met there lives up to Ms. Parton's sentiment. Oh, and I must say the decor is so warm, cozy, and just downright cute! Thank you so much to everyone at Bourbon Cafe and Coffee Saloon. You fed our bellies and our spirits. I hope our paths cross again soon.

He had a turkey club and I had a turkey avocado sandwich on multigrain. For sides we had cucumber salad, potato salad, and mac & cheese. A word of surprise, the potato salad is served warm, but it was really tasty. The only disappointment was the mac & cheese, which was grainy and soup-like with very overcooked noodles in it. They had no discernible shape and almost seemed like egg noodles oddly enough. We enjoyed our drinks, sandwiches and salads very much.

Such a cute, cozy place. It was like stepping into a warm cafe in another land…read more I started with a seasonal latte that had hints of toasted marshmallows, cinnamon, and pumpkin. Followed by a Monte Cristo. The bread was so light and fluffy. The saltiness of the meat with the sweetness of the bread and sugar with a little spread of raspberry preserves delighted the tastebuds. The side of fruit was large and seasonally appropriate. You order at the counter, where I think the owner was taking the orders and the accent definitely sounded authentic German like the name of the restaurant. She was lovely. Everything is made fresh so sit back and relax and the dining area is designed perfect for that with couches, cozy chairs and comfortable seats at the tables. I looked up what the name means: "Drachenfutter" is also a term used to describe gifts or treats that someone might bring home for their significant other when they feel guilty about coming home late or drunk. True to the "gift" part of the name, you can take yummy homemade treats home with you and they do have a section of gifts you can buy. A nice gem of a place along Historic Route 66.
