The staff were really attentive and very pleasant and personable without being in your face! Because it was a special occasion I had booked a cabin. I chose a spa cabin, a little bit more expensive than the standard but still excellent value and the jacuzzi was enormous! After a bottle of bubbly and a luxurious soak in the bubbles we were ready for our bed on the mezzanine. The rooms were terrifically well appointed and quite by far the most reasonably priced luxury we've enjoyed in a long time. The building is gorgeous, with antiques and rich furnishings intermingled with modern amenities; you instantly felt like you were in luxury. Our room had two really comfy beds, a lounge area and huge bathroom, making it a great place to chill out. We'd booked a spa deal and only found out the day before that there isn't actually spa - just treatment rooms - which was a little disappointing. However, the treatments were fabulous and there is a lovely relaxation room where you can unwind before and after your massage or mud experience. Our deal included afternoon tea, a meal in the evening, and breakfast the next day. The first was nothing to write home about - finger sandwiches, scones and Kipling-style cakes - but the restaurant meals were delicious. The evening meal was situated in the restaurant beneath the castle, with an elegant bistro menu and fabulous service. Bread and olives as you arrive was a nice touch, and my steak was to die for! They did a cracking full English the next day too.. As for the service in the hotel, it was a bit Faulty Towers, but not too bad. As a whole package, we loved Hazlewood Castle and would definitely return in the future!

The hotel is set in the main castle or in the court yard building which are both impressive but the main castle bedrooms are much more impressive - they still have the old traditional features which make it feel like you are royalty. The fixtures and fittings are pure luxury too. The food is absolutely divine and so morish - you really must experience their breakfasts which are to die for. The chef is absolutely brilliant in making the food look really luxurious. While the prices are quite steep at over £100 for a room per night it is well worth it when you have spent the time there as you feel really pampered and there is so much to see and do. The castle hotel also does weddings and receptions - inviting you to a fayre first to try it out before you decide to book. They also do conference bookings and also small intimate parties. Well worth the money - the staff are absolutely lovely and polite. You never know too - you might get to meet the ghosts that live there too

They have an indoor swimming pool, gym and golfing grounds. We only managed to take advantage of the pool and gym. The room itself is spacious and very cozy. We took advantage of the kettle in the room to make ourselves some tea that night. And I had no problem falling asleep on their comfy mattress. Unfortunately breakfast ends around 10 or 10:30am (I can't remember) and we missed it due to sleeping in late. I do wish breakfast would be kept open later till at least 11am so that guests could have a good lie in. All the staff here are super friendly and helpful, which is a bonus! Other than that, the next time I'm in Hull I'll book a longer stay at Cave Castle and take advantage of all the amenities. My stay was far too short for such an amazing place!

Friendly reception, free parking and free WiFi (ok a little slow but can be upgraded). Coffee/tea making facilities in the room with ample replacements at reception should you run out. Perfect. Another positive is on-site breakfast restaurant. All you can eat cooked breakfast, and it's delicious. The young lady at breakfast was a ray of sunshine to start the day off. Always smiling. Lovely stay at another perfect Premier Inn. The only slight, very slight, negative was the room being much smaller than any room we have had on previous occasions. This was made up by having a walk-in shower. As you get older it gets more difficult stepping over a bath.
