We were wandering around Willunga when we saw a sign on the side of the road - 'The Farm' - how enticing! And after visiting here for brekkie this morning, we were definitely not disappointed ;)
While the complex is a B&B, vineyard, farm and cafe, the latter is what we came here to visit. It is in a beautiful converted barn with high ceilings, and has a gorgeous ambiance, beautiful barn doors open out onto a little courtyard area. It is so cosy and comfortable, and we were greeted by the owner Robyn, who is absolutely gorgeous!
I ordered the 'Country Smoked Bacon And Poached Eggs' ... this was MASSIVE! The bacon was so meaty and smoky (seriously, that is the best description I could come up with), and the eggs were cooked to perfection, served with a slow roasted tomato and 'stone baked toasted loaf'. I tried my best, but I could not finish it all (I really tried, it was delicious!!). Anita had the Willunga Sausage, Beans And Fried Egg - the sausage was actually chorizo, and was equally delicious. Again, a massive meal (which she finished) - well worth the $17 and $20 respectively.
Coffee was delicious, and the service was friendly and prompt. There are a lot of other goods around the cafe, like soaps, organic wine, jams, chutneys, etc.
I'm looking forward to coming back here for lunch and sampling the tasting platters with some yummy wines!! read more
