    - Save Your Dogs from This "Resort"…read more Do NOT be fooled by the word "resort" in this place's name. What my two dogs received was nothing short of a prison sentence -- and an expensive one at that. Their 5-day stay cost me more than my own vacation at a resort in Galveston. I did my due diligence. I visited the facility in person before booking. It looked beautiful, the staff seemed attentive, and the other pet owners coming and going appeared happy with their experience. I left feeling confident my dogs were in good hands. That confidence was a mistake. I paid for an XL suite so both dogs could stay together and have a comfortable, resort-style experience. I also paid for the "Gold Social Play Package" for BOTH dogs -- their most expensive package. What I actually got -- documented on their own camera system -- was day after day of my dogs sitting in a pee-soaked suite. I watched live feed videos. It was not a one-time accident. It was the entire stay. The suite was not being cleaned; my dogs were simply living in their own waste. In five days, I never once saw them out of that suite for more than 10 minutes -- and that brief time out was not even to clean up the filth they were sitting in. I paid a premium for social playtime and received none of it. When I picked them up, their blankets, their toys, and they themselves reeked of urine. It was immediately obvious they had been in that mess for the duration of their visit. Both dogs had a clean bill of health from the vet right before drop-off. Since coming home, they have been vomiting and having diarrhea. The unsanitary conditions they were kept in are the only explanation. I do believe they were fed their regular food, which I sent with them -- so I'll give one star rather than zero. But that is the only positive thing I can say. What I cannot understand is this: I watched other dogs receive attentive, loving care during my pre-visit. I bought your most expensive package. So why did MY dogs spend five days sitting in pee, ignored and neglected? What did I do wrong as a customer? What did my dogs do to deserve less? You charge resort prices. Deliver resort care -- or don't call yourself a resort.

Before finding…read moreEarthWise, we tried several other groomers and were never happy with either the haircut or the amount of time it took--often more than four hours. Since switching to EarthWise, we couldn't be happier. They always do an amazing job, everyone is incredibly kind, and Caitlin has my big fluffy guy looking his best in about two hours. I should have written this review a year ago, but what finally prompted me to do it was an experience I had recently with one of my foster dogs. He's a 5-month-old puppy who had spent his entire life tied outside on a rope, so he was absolutely terrified of leashes and unfamiliar places. He would plant his feet and refuse to move. At 55 pounds, he's already a strong boy! I managed to get him close to the front door, but he simply would not go inside. The staff was unbelievably patient and compassionate. They brought out treats to encourage him, but when he was too scared to take them, they never rushed him or forced the situation. Instead, they gave him the time and space he needed to feel as comfortable as possible. When it became clear he wasn't going to walk in on his own, they gently picked him up and carried him inside so he could get his bath. After he was all cleaned up, they refused to let me pay. That level of kindness and empathy meant so much to me--and even more to a puppy who had already had such a rough start in life. I would have happily paid extra for the care they showed him. Businesses like this deserve to be recognized, and I will continue to support EarthWise and recommend them to anyone looking for groomers who truly care about both pets and their people.

This spot when it comes to a spa can get very crowded so I recommend getting an early appointment which we did and we had the opportunity to enjoy a lot of the amenities before he got crowded things such as the whirlpool, the sauna the cold plunge and the steam room along with the quiet ambience and snacks. The room was immaculate, the Uptown location is excellent, and dinner at Fearing's was as good as its reputation. The people I met in person were the real highlight. Amar at the front desk, and Luis and EunSeo in the Club Lounge, were warm, attentive, and genuinely memorable. If my review were based on the stay alone, it would be five stars without hesitation. The reason it is not is what happened after checkout. I raised a question about my STARS credit at the desk and was told everything was fine, though no one could actually show me the line items. When my folio arrived, I replied to the accounting email exactly as invited. I heard nothing. I followed up a second time, then a third. Silence. It took a fourth email, sent directly to a general manager, before anyone responded at all, and the response contained a billing error that had charged one of my credits to another guest's bar tab. I only caught it because I reconciled the receipts myself. It then took a fifth email, with a timeline and check numbers, to get it corrected. To the accounting manager's credit, once he understood the problem he fixed it promptly and refunded the charge. But by then I had spent two weeks proving something that should have taken them one look at the account. For most hotels, this is an ordinary service lapse. For a property that markets itself on owning and resolving guest problems immediately, it is a miss on the very thing that justifies the premium. The stay made me feel like a valued guest. The weeks after made me feel like a ticket number. I will likely give the property another chance, because the in-person team earned that. But if you stay here, keep your receipts and check your folio carefully, because the follow-through may not.

While the property itself is beautiful, the reality of a weekend stay was very different. The pool and hot tub were absolutely packed with kids splashing and jumping in, which completely took away from a relaxing atmosphere. To add to that, the walls seemed a bit thin - the room next to us was extremely loud throughout our stay, which made it hard to unwind. Additionally, the spa is very nice but quite small. It only has a steam room. That being said, the rest of our experience was wonderful. The rooms themselves are beautiful and clean, the gym is excellent, and the staff is absolutely exceptional! They made me feel incredibly welcome for my birthday. I'd give them 5 stars for service, but a 4 overall due to the chaotic pool experience and the noise. Bonus: they are pet friendly and have a little table with dog treats at the front.

That is a big deal to me and always a major disappointment when hotels don't get this right! The shower was heavenly here!!! My husband and I only stayed overnight, so we didn't get to explore the entire hotel, but from everything we experienced, it's worth going back if we ever need to stay that far away from home again (or just for a staycation). The only negative thing I have to add is one of the young men at the front desk just seemed like he didn't like his job or just didn't want to be there for the day. He did his job effectively and gave me the exact info I needed, but his personality and attitude was dry.

I found out about this hotel due to a conference I was attending. Most of the pictures that you'll…read moresee are from the conference and not from the room that I was able to share with other attendees nor the breakfast that I went to the following morning in their hotel dining. Overall, I was really impressed! I've been to several conferences in my lifetime and this one felt professional, yet also elegant and warm at the same time from the set up and the snacks and formal dinner that were offered. Our conference had between 125-150 attendees. First of all, they had multiple rooms with multiple set ups, but all on the same conference hall wing. It felt very private. Not really any outside people strolling through because not much else is on that end of the hotel. All of the technology (including live video chat incoming to the room, playing videos during the conference, mikes, and video recording for later AND the lights and music of the amazing dance floor that night) worked as it should. They were kind enough to store a large sheet cake for us in the fridge until dessert. During the conference, they provided an incredible array of comfort/snack foods that you will see in my pictures. For dinner, we had an amazing several course meal starting with a seafood bisque with a flaky pastry crust, filet mignon, with delicious sides, and ending with an apple pie with the same amazing flaky crust, which is totally my weakness. That night I shared a room with other participants and slept on the couch since they already claimed the king bed. It was actually really comfortable! We had the doors open between our room and the room next to it which was super convenient for all the back and forth we had to get things needed downstairs for the conference. The hotel was always so helpful when we kept misplacing keys every time we loaned them to someone else who just had to run up and grab one more thing. All of the staff I interacted with had that great southern hospitality with a blend of professionalism. The next morning we grabbed the hearty buffet breakfast downstairs and I got a custom omelette, a biscuit with gravy, fruit, and a few cups of coffee! It was just what I needed to fuel me for my bus trip to spend under 24 hours in Waco, including #MagnoliaMonday! I highly recommend this hotel to stay or hold your event here! It was also a reasonably priced Uber ride from the airport to get here!

The door was kinda jacked up so the hotel was showing its age for sure. Maybe that's why it's called the Renaissance. I also had packages delivered to me and every time I checked with the hotel staff, they said they were with the "show" staff. They didn't even check, they just said "the stuff will be delivered at XXXX time". Well, the event was starting and I still didn't have my stuff so finally I found a guy that would listen and he tracked it down. But do disappointed for the rest of the hotel staff to not even try to help. It was within walking distance of a plaza that had some places to eat, but being on a Frontage road (gotta love Texas), some things that seem close are so far. But definitely try to go to Kenny's Woodfire Grill if you stay here. I wouldn't choose to stay here again if I was in the area, but the convenience of being in the same hotel as a conference trumps the other issues.
