Never leaves his house except to be driven to doc appointments. Always a challenge. Took 4 years to convince him to get his, what he believes are his perfect eyes, tested. Two ophthalmologists said they couldn't test him. Staff at this Visionworks was wonderful!! Front of store staff were both friendly and helpful Tech was obviously knowledgeable and quiteskilled, and very, VERY patient (Example: it took 4 tries to get his first eye lined up for a camera. First three time his ear was closer to the lens) The ophthalmologist was VERY professional. When I explained the situation he said it was not a problem. And after several attempts to get my friend to read the letters out loud, it wasn't!! He modified his exam so his patient could understand what to do. So now my friend knows he has advanced cataracts and also needs prescription glasses. In about 3 months I think I can persuade him to get glasses We will be back. This entire staff may not fully understand what their professionalism and patience means. Soon, because of their efforts, an elderly, multiply disabled man will experience a dramatically improved quality of life!!! Thank you'!!!!!

The service at Hunter Family Vision is something I do not see in the marketplace today. I work and am very familiar with group insurance. I work for a consulting house that is HQ in KC and while my practice is focused on absence, I know a fair amount about other group offered products. I received a text today from Brandi at Hunter Family Vision notifying me that my company's eye insurance provider, VSP, was changing their policy provisions and I may not be eligible after 6/1 for "medically necessary" contacts. In the early 90s, I grew up as a kid who had to patch their right eye to make the left eye stronger and for a long time, glasses were my only option. I eventually moved to contacts and saw a competitor. No one ever told me that insurance may cover the cost of my contacts because of the difference in the prescription between my right and left eye. At my first visit, Dr. Swan told me they should be covered 100%. The thousands of dollars she has saved me over the last 5 years goes above and beyond what I would anticipate from any other healthcare provider. This is true patient advocacy. I was overwhelmingly impressed with Brandi and the entire office staff at Hunter Family Vision. I received a proactive text today about the policy changes and recommended that I come in and see Dr. Swan for my annual exam before my policy changed. That text alone also saved me hundreds of dollars. Otherwise, I would have waited until the end of the year to only find out that VSP may not cover my contacts. I live in Lawrence, KS now. But I will happily make the trip to continue to be a patient of Dr. Swan and Hunter Family Vision. Thank you so much for being an advocate for patient healthcare.

I love this Optical service! They provided me with... hands down, "THE BEST" pair of eyeglasses…read morethat I've ever owned. They were perfect and I could see clearly in every distance! I went back to get another pair the following year, but the lab made an error in the lens, so they had them remake them; And again they were not right! So, the folks at Blue Springs Optical figured out why they were not correct in the first place and ask them to remake them a final time. Thankfully, that pair was perfect! It's not something that typically happens, but it's great to know they won't stop until the customer is able to see correctly, and is happy with their purchase. I highly recommend this business!

Seriously, if it's not written down it didn't happen. I called to check the status of my contact and was told "You're in a wait status" and that they should have already been received. I asked if I had to go to the office or will the contacts be delivered to my home, the gentleman said "oh you should have been given the choice at the time of the order if you wanted them mailed to your...and of course I was not given that or any other option. Appointments are always pretty much on time and I'm usually in and out at a pretty decent rate. I've not gotten glasses from them but I do get my contacts through them. I believe they have a home delivery option but I've also picked them up there. I've never had any insurance issues and the clinic is always clean.
