I signed up for a 2 week paid trial. one week in I hadn't gone because it's 25-30 minutes away and simple doesn't fit my life style and so it became obvious this wouldn't work for me and they would not refund. pretty disappointing they're comfortable taking money when the service wasn't used once. don't get me wrong the workout is good did the first free workout they offer. over all it's expensive but a good workout if you don't want to think about it and just be told what to do.

For Pure Barre, I tried it for the first time today and have to say that I was very impressed with the studio. It's clean, and the shop in the front has a lot of fun headbands, hair ties, and workout wear. I didn't shop around to check out the prices, as I'm not in the market for anything, but there were definitely a lot of option. The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful. I had made a reservation for the noon class, arrived a few minutes early, filled out my form, and it was time to step inside. The warmup is intense! One of my friends told me that the warmup is pretty serious, and she wasn't joking. It was the only time we really worked on arms or with the hand weights, though. All of the other parts of the 55 minutes were spent targeting tummy, seat (butt), and thighs. And that whole lift. tone. burn. motto? Yup! You do all of the above. I could feel the burn the entire time, and even with the teensy movements we were supposed to make it was amazing the amount I felt it in every part I was supposed to. The instructor knew what she was doing. She demonstrated every activity and made herself visible to everyone in the room. There was only one time in the class where I didn't understand what we were doing, but it wasn't because she wasn't showing us. Some of the movements on the ab section are so small when sitting against the wall that I just couldn't tell what I was supposed to be doing. I did learn after the class that there is an intro class offered to newbies to learn about the different terminology. To be honest though I'd rather just come to a few of these and pick it up as you go. My thighs and hips are already sore and I love it! I wore an HRM, and in one 55 minute class I burned 290 calories. That's not to take away from what it did for my muscles and starting the journey to being more lean. I definitely will continue to go back, and I can see myself becoming addicted. It isn't a cardio workout, though there were a few times where my heart rate did elevate to a medium difficulty cardio level. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the cost, but it's something that I'll just have to swallow. It's so hard for me to pay $20 for an individual class of anything. There are packages offered for introductory members and for group packages, but it doesn't go much lower than $15-$16/class. It's a little more expensive than going to yoga, but the benefits will also be greater I believe. If it weren't so much, I could see myself going on a much more regular basis. Boutique workout classes, though, tend to be costly. You do get what you pay for with individual attention and well educated instructors. I did learn too that every class each day will be the same, but that different days follow different formats and exercises. It makes me excited to continue seeing the different exercises that are options in Pure Barre!

Hitting the stairs in hyde park heading to car was such a task. The reformer is operated from both ends, there are multiple gadgets to alter the tension on the pulley. There is also gadgets to help with modifications. There are optional weights. The room is pretty dark with cool neon blue lights, sort of help with focus. I do feel like half way through, the AC could've been pumped up a bit. I'd suggest wearing no socks, unless grippers and long leggings because the leather on the reformer can get slippery from sweat and you know other people's sweat to consider from previous classes - though there are wipes! There's no actual demonstrations, so be sure to listen to the instructions verbally being stated. As a first timer, it took a while to understand some of the names of the pieces of the reformers but Jodi, our instructor, was motivating, energetic, and helped assist when necessary. No idea how she did all at once lol Jodi had a great playlist as well. There is a code emailed to those schedule for the class because the door stays lock for safety. There are lockers for your things - I didn't know how to work it, so I, like many, brought there things in the room and stored it under the reformer and out the way. The bathroom has all the necessities - spray deodorant, tampons, hair supplies, and more.

Once I'm up and laced up, I'm ready to go. For me, working out is like recess for adults. Whether I'm at Orangetheory, or jogging down Bayshore, working out is my playtime. There's no need for makeup, I can sweat, run, lift, have fun with equipment and "play" with my peers- high fives included. It's something I look forward to every day. So when I was invited to try out a new-to-me workout opportunity, I jumped at the chance. I love a challenge! Fox Fitness is the product of the fabulous personal trainer Becky Fox. Becky has been in the fitness industry for over 9 years and truly understands the science of living your healthiest life. She's helped 100's of clients reach their fitness goals and incorporate healthy choices into even the most hectic of lives. Think you can't fit in a workout into your busy schedule? Too overwhelmed to prep meals? Becky is there to make it a totally doable routine for anyone. Her workout sessions are personalized and designed for all fitness levels, shapes and sizes. Her nutrition plans focus on eating nutritious, real food in a way that can help her clients make life-long changes which lead to results, without feeling deprived. No gimmicks or unsafe methods for quick results. Becky is all about educating people on what it means to live a healthy life- for the long run. In addition to fitness and nutrition, Becky believes in the power of social support. She offers a special private Facebook group for her clients, giving them the opportunity to network with one another, provide each other with support, share ideas and recipes, and celebrate successes as the work through the program. Becky stays connected to her clients- making sure they stay motivated, feel supported, and successful. It's an added touch that really separates Fox Fitness from the rest! My 21 Day Fox Fitness challenge began on Wednesday with my first workout session with Becky and her existing training group. Prior to that first session we were able to chat on the phone about my goals for the challenge, my fitness experiences and other information that would help Becky be able to support me in the best way possible. This is something she offers all of her potential clients. (After reading this, if you're interested in learning more about the program you can request a complementary success session with Becky from the website.) Workout sessions are held Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings from either 5:30-6:15am or 6:30-7:15am at Martial Arts Advantage 3311 South Dale Mabry Highway Tampa, FL 33629 I opted for the 5:30am classes since I start work around 8am. This gives me plenty of time to get home, eat breakfast, pack my lunch and shower before heading out the door. I arrived a bit early to do a little meet and greet with Becky. She gave me a run-down about what to expect and then we chatted a bit more about my goals, any injuries that might prevent me from doing a movement, and other information I would need to know in order to make my session as successful as possible. We also took a moment to take starting measurements to help track my progress over the next 21 days. During both our chat on the phone and in person, Becky made me feel at ease. Her warm and welcoming personality shined through- even when she made us do burpees later on in the session. As the other members of the group trickled through, everyone seemed pretty happy to be there. They too were welcoming, and very inspiring throughout the workout. I noticed that many of the women that were in this class (it was all women, however men are totally welcome, there just weren't any there that session!) were from all different walks of life- different ages, sizes, shapes, abilities. Throughout the 45 minute session (in between the sweat and burn!) there were lots of laughs, connections made, and support all around. Becky is what I call a sneaky trainer: her positive attitude, fun workout routines and motivating words make you totally forget what you're doing. By the time the session was over, it felt like it had just begun! Sneaky, sneaky. There were only a few movements I needed modification with, and Becky was quick to provide me with some options. She also took a lot of time monitoring the other clients, making sure their form was correct and that they were getting the most out of their session. We ended the workout with a great stretch session, and in the end I felt fantastic and was already thinking about what the next workout would be like. I'm really looking forward to sharing my progress and experience with Fox Fitness with all of you! If you're in the Tampa Bay area, consider joining me!
