I really wish I could give ZERO STARS, I was referred to this place by a friend after dealing with a terrible situation with some slum lords, and when I was able to pull myself together from crying, I called this number and left a message. I instantly received a text message telling me to call one or two numbers anytime, and ask for Kevin. So I waited for an appropriate hour and called. Only to be met by a rude individual, who couldn't even say the name of his company he worked for right. After I asked calmly 3 different times for him to repeat himself (so I could know IF was calling the right place) he proceeded to hang on me... Puzzled and not really knowing how these things work, I called back hoping it was just a mistake that the call had ended out of nowhere. Answering again the same exact way, I asked again if I was calling the right place, this time just a bit irritated by this experience so far, But still calm. He stopped me in the middle of my sentence, and proceeded to tell me "FIRST OFF MA'AM, SHUT YOUR LOUD ASS MOUTH!"... Not sure if that was Kevin, but I went back to the email and complained and didn't receive any response... truth is I don't think anybody else works there except Kevin! If you call that work. I just feel like people in general are going through real serious situations on a daily basis, and have enough to think about and deal with, me myself I have a child, so yes this situation is real for me. After talking to this guy a few times he seemed to talk the talk. His name is Kevin Lowe. However, the scammer alarms starting chirping loudly when he refused to take a credit card despite his website claiming he accepts them. He told me all websites do that! Clearly, this guy thinks he is the smartest guy in the conversation. I asked if I could pay by credit card at which point he told me "No do what I tell you and follow my instructions". Yeah big scam alert, followed by pay me with a "green dot pak", the scammers payment of choice. No recourse no refunds and no disputes. Cute. I contacted his local police dept in Dublin CA where they had never heard of him or his "Company", but his business is registered to his tiny little apartment in a bad neighborhood. Take a look at his social media, while he seems to like retweeting the ladies, he has ZERO comments or thank you's or even a testimonials. Nothing. Smells like a scam- looks like a scam and feels like a scam it's probably...well you know. He did offer to let me use ApplePay....which turned out to be another "Green Dot" service. No thanks. I ended up trusting my gut and walking away from this guy. When I started to back away from him he began insulting me and implying that I was the person who was untrustworthy- and telling me I would be on the streets by Christmas. A real Patron Saint here. All I wanted was some help because my low down landlord is trying to Cash in on price Spikes due to COVID, and it feels like this guy is ready to kick you while you are down. Caveat Emptor. This man KNOWS what he's talking about. THANK YOU!!!!! I've read some of the reviews. Yes, you CAN do the work yourself - and take a chance of missing something. He has the knowledge and experience, It was SOOOOO worth it to me. I can't say thank you enough. He found the attorney's errors and made sure I didn't back down. The clerk at the courthouse had to void the default and reinstate my answer - they wanted ME to basically correct the attorney's (and their) error or just accept it. I don't like confrontation - I'd have believed them. He goes out of his way to look out for you. Try finding ANYONE to help the tenant these days. Worst customer service ever. DIDN'T LISTEN TO A WORD I SAID. I asked if a writ of possession could be delayed. He responded by asking me about my court date and if I had missed it. If he knew anything about evictions or LISTENED he would know that I obviously have already been through the court process if I have a writ of possession on my door. I held my tongue and listened to his BS. Asked him his starting fees and told me $500 and then hung up the phone as I was trying to ask what that included. Good job eviction stoppers. Your loss, I already hired an attorney. You get what you pay for clearly. These people are handling evictions in too many states to be able to preform quality work. I had been looking for a low income attorney for about two weeks through this stressful situation. I have been having trouble finding one because I have a court date that did not work for many of the attorney's I called. I mentioned it to a friend of mine who worked in property management and he suggested I called Eviction Stoppers. When I saw the site, I thought it looked very cheesy and questionable, but because I am desperate for representation I emailed them at (the_evictionstoppers@yahoo.com). I got a pretty quick response asking me to give them a call. When I called the man who answered did not give a name or anything just a basic hello (which was not clear), he then asked me what I was calling for because I indicated in my email that I needed representation for my court date on Aug 1st. He immediately said that he could not help me without me barely saying anything. He was trying to rush me off the phone saying that I need to go to whoever helped me with the paperwork. I told him legal aid helped but they do not provide representation in court. He told me I needed to contact them and was trying to rush me off again,saying that he does the whole process and because legal aid did the paperwork he could not provide me with any service and stated that I will be just fine since it is a jury trial and have to go through mediation, he then hung up on me. I was so baffled by how unprofessional and insensitive he was that I sent him an email immediately after. Me: I have to say that my phone call with you was very rude and insensitive. You barely even let me speak and sounded very irritated that I was asking for help. I don't understand why you would choose to go into this field of law when you are strictly dealing with people in desperate need of help during their most vulnerable time. The first time I called a man asked "when is your court date" I told him it had not been set yet. He told me call back when it has been set and hung up the phone. I called at 6am and the call was answered by a different, very groggy man. I asked what the price was. He said $500. I told him I already filed my own answer and demurrer and asked if I could have a reduction in the rate for the remainder of services. He said, "Ma'am, if you already filed an answer and demurrer, what do you need my services for?" I responded, "The interrogatories, depositions, summons of witnesses and demand for production of evidence." He said "Goodbye. " and hung up the phone. No negotiation, no explanation, or even a polite, respectful dismissal. The answer is pretty simple. It is crazy that he would charge people $500 when it takes 15 to 30 minutes tops to complete. He's preying on people in bad situations and not offering to help with all the tools that people have to defend from a full eviction process. The Nolo books are helpful, but only go so far. I've heard there are other books that go into greater detail in the Berkeley law library, but you have to use it there. I am going to try an organization called tenants together. This service reminds me of the kind of people that charge $10 a gallon of water after a natural disaster....price gauging with no service nor respect. read more
