Specialties
The Espressonist is Docklands' waterfront café, wine bar and events venue — on the Yarra at 108 River Esplanade, set inside a working art gallery with the marina and the city laid out across the water.
By day it's Melbourne's Docklands brunch destination: specialty coffee, a proper all-day brunch and lunch menu, and a riverside table worth lingering at. Real chefs, fresh produce daily, no shortcuts — the sort of breakfast that earns the walk along the water and the coffee that keeps you there.
By night, Wednesday to Saturday, the room becomes FOMO Bar + Grill — our evening wine bar and grill. The kitchen leans French at dinner, with a few Asian fusion twists (soft shell crab, XO sauce), and everything's built around the grill: some of the best steak in the area, seafood to match, and house favourites like the linguini, gnocchi and salmon. A wine list with a point of view, cocktails as the sun goes down over the water, and one of the better-value dinner tables in Docklands.
We also host the good stuff — corporate functions, launches, milestones and weddings on the marina, with the whole gallery to ourselves and a team that runs the night for you.
A few minutes from Marvel Stadium and the CBD, it's the kind of place you bring people when you want the night to feel like an occasion.
Brunch daily from 7am (weekends from 8) · FOMO dinner Wednesday to Saturday from 5:30pm.

Established in 2015.
the espressonist cafe sits inside a contemporary art gallery and began by supplying high quality artisan coffee to gallery visitors and guests. Over time, the espressonist has established itself as a destination for excellent coffee in the region. It's unique situation within the art gallery is a bonus to all who come to visit.
Meet the Business Owner: Demian G.
I'm an artist, engineer and entrepreneur. I started Lorimer Gallery as a pop up art installation in the new Lorimer Street development on Yarras edge. The community got on board and it wasn't long before Lorimer Gallery was on the map and the locals were begging us to stay! So here we are, two years on, and adding a cafe to the area as well. We love what we do and we love the area.
