Our family had to pivot after the Indiana Dunes National Park was closed due to weather today, so we landed at The Escape Game in Chicago. We've been to the one by us in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, but it was exciting to see a new room (Special Ops: Mysterious Market). We loved the design of the rooms as a family of four with an 8 and 11-year-old. Laila and Sydney went out of their way to be incredibly welcoming to us and making sure we had the best time. We were grateful for hints and managed to escape with 8 minutes to spare. Really can't say enough kind things about the staff and room...it was the perfect blend of challenging and exciting for us. Thank you again to Laila and Sydney for being so awesome and turning our day around. read more

I had a great experience at this Escape Game location! We did Legend of the Yeti -- a new room that just opened this past Saturday! It had an 8/10 difficulty and boy, did that definitely feel difficult HAHA. I mean that in the best way though, it was such a fun escape room with twists and turns that I was not expecting at all. The puzzles were challenging but all made sense to the story. I HIGHLY recommend this room! also the staff and our game host (who i forgot both of their names) were SUPER nice and helpful!!! loved it, great experience read more

My family of 5 completed The Legend of the Yeti! As a family that has played COUNTLESS escape rooms around the country, I can assure you that this is the best place to go. We had an amazing time. It is so evident that everyone who works here loves their job, and that makes the experience that much better. Our game masters were Nathan and Bre! They rocked and were so patient with our family. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time possible. I think it is also worth mentioning that it was extremely clean. It was an unforgettable experience! We WILL be back read more

My wife and I visited The Escape Game Chicago last week and escaped our prison with just one second left ‼ It was the perfect mix of thrill and challenge, and our game guide, Nathan, gave excellent clues that kept us on track without making it too easy. Afterward, the staff surprised us with thoughtful anniversary and birthday cards (which we had mentioned beforehand), signed by Nathan and Julez. Such a classy touch. This was easily the best escape room experience either of us has ever had read more

We did prison break which was one of the hardest puzzles. We made it to the last round of warden's room but unfortunately couldn't solve it completely. Our guide, Cash, was super awesome, extremely courteous & professional, and guided us through the journey. Definitely give it a try. read more

Loved the yeti room would come back again . Make it good in there. Omg let me post this

We love the Escape Game, and Chicago lived up to the hype. Cash was helpful and a great guide! Make this a stop on your Chicago trip!

Cash was an amazing game guide for The Heist, had so much fun and super fun games to play. Will return!!

Laila was great! Went for a bachelorette party and they gave us gift cards and a game to take home!

** Kind Service ** ** Fun for all Ages ** We didn't know what to expect as it was all our first time going to an escape room. It was a fantastic experience. We were surprising our friend and they did everything they could to accommodate all of it. It was a success! We did the "Heist" and really enjoyed the teamwork rerequired to solve the game. It was a ton of fun. If you're on the fence whether or not to try The Escape Game Chicago, do it! It's a blast!! read more

Second time at this location and the escape rooms are actually challenging! The rooms are set up so creative! Ren was amazing!

Wish we completed it within the time. Cash was very helpful and respectful. Great staff, good environment, always a great time.

Excellent time and good brain teasers! Finished with 25 seconds to go! Thanks to Jenny and Gwen!!!

At first, I wasn't sure what an escape room was all about, but the kids wanted to try it, so we gave it a go--and it (The Heist, with the soonest availability at time of our walk-in visit) was incredibly fun! The staff monitors you in real-time and gives clues when you're stuck (they're watching through a camera and know exactly where you're struggling). They really helped us out. In the end, we barely escaped with one second left, which was so thrilling! I think the staff's timely interventions added a lot to the excitement. read more

As a part of team building at work, I chose this Escape Game activity. My colleagues and I ended up playing two rooms: Special Ops: Mysterious Market and Mission: Mars were the rooms we did with 6 and 7 people in each team. Both were rated at 8/10 in terms of difficulty level. Challenging but both teams ESCAPED, with my team beating the other team within the time limit of 60 mins. Both had right amount of hints, with lots of interactive pieces. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Overall it was a fun and engaging experience that brought our teams closer together, creating a positive and cohesive work atmosphere which was lacking due work from home culture post Covid. You're also allowed take pictures or videos while you're in the game for good memories. 10/10 recommend this place. Looking forward to completing their rest of the Escape Rooms!!! read more

Well.... This was fun and challenging. There wasn't a real host that helped throughout the entire journey but there wasn't a screen that gave us clues when we requested it. We of course chose the hardest one, Prison Break. They gave us 1 hr to escape and we were a few minutes shy of that. I definitely want to go back because I know we can beat it! read more

After we signed the waivers, we got to play a mini puzzle games before the escape room. We choose the prison break room to escape from. We were separated and had to unlock each other's prison cells to move on. You had to do some unorthodox thinking to get to the next step. We almost solved it but we ran out of time. Luckily our tour guide showed us how close we got and how we missed some clues and let us figure the rest of it out because it was at the end of the night. read more

While in Chicago, I decided to try an escape room and stumbled upon this one--and I'm so glad I did! Booking was quick and easy, and the location was easy to find. Parking was a bit tricky, but that's to be expected in Chicago. I originally wanted a private experience for just the two of us, but we were added to a group, which turned out to be a lot of fun! We did the Gold Rush room and managed to escape just in time. The room was challenging, engaging, and had a great aesthetic. I'd definitely love to try their other rooms the next time I'm in town! read more

Such an amazing escape room! We were visiting from California and have done many escape rooms! This company also has a location in San Francisco which was an awesome experience, which is why we chose to come here again. The room was super cool and the staff were exceptional! 5 star experience! read more

July 2021 - COVID Review: My husband and I visited The Escape Game as part of the GO City Pass! We did the Mission: Mars room, which was so awesome because it was our first time doing a room that was almost entirely technology and code based - instead of the usual with keys and locks. The staff and game master were so fun to meet as well! The place was a bit difficult to find at first from our GPS. Especially since from the direction we were walking from (east), there were two closed businesses on the same strip called "SafeHouse Chicago" and "EscapeHouse". But it's located right next to the Trader Joe's! read more

will 100% be back here! There are tons of rooms to choose from, and it sounds like all of them are amazing. Our groups did Mission to Mars and Heist. We had a big enough group that we had to split into 2 teams, so my team obviously did Heist. Not to brag, but we did it faster than most other people apparently. We also beat the other team that was with us by 2 minutes, but no big deal. Anyways, the themes challenging, but not too challenging, the pacing felt next to perfect. This was so much fun, and you should go! read more

I did the prison break escape room here as a group of 8. No spoilers, but overall thought it was really fun, challenging, and the props/set were unique and high quality. The game master walked us through the solution afterwards. Unfortunately, we did not escape (the prison break room is the most difficult) but overall highly recommend. I would love to come back and try another room. read more

We were warmly greeted. Our coordinator gave complete instructions. We did the marketplace. Some of it was interesting but ultimately we thought it was just ok. read more

So you share the room with strangers. Which for us was fantastic because trying to finish these rooms w two people is so hard! The room we did was much more mechanical than it was cerebral. Kind of different. Hosts were super friendly. read more

This was our first ever escape room and it did not disappoint. From our first point of contact, Dietrich, who made us feel very welcome and was super informative. We were nervous to be paired up with people we didn't know but we lucked out with a really fun group. We did the Special Ops room and it was a lot of fun! We ended up buying gift certificates for our upcoming trip to Hawaii where they have another Escape Game. Hopefully they are as great as this one! Highly recommend if you're in Chicago and looking for something fun to do! read more

We had SO much fun! My daughter was turning 16 so we celebrated by doing some group activities. We chose the Gold Rush room. I have been to The Escape Game twice and had a wonderful experience both times. Most recently, we did the Special Ops room with Sarah as our guide. It was just the right amount of challenging for our group of four and Sarah was very helpful the few times we needed hints. Looking forward to trying their other rooms in the future! read more

Did the Heist escape room for my birthday. What a fun experience!! I cannot stress how much thought goes into these rooms, and how absolutely thrilling they are. We were initially nervous about being paired with another group, but honestly it is impossible to have a bad time at this place! We had a blast solving all the puzzles together, and we managed to escape successfully. I HAVE to shout out my game host, Sophia. She was the absolute sweetest, and took a lot of extra effort in making me feel special on my birthday which was much appreciated :)) Try out the Escape Game, it is 100% worth it!!! read more

This was my first escape room experience, and it was enjoyable enough to make me want to do it again. I arrived by reservation with five people, and we were joined up with three more for a party of eight. We checked in and were escorted back to our room where we were locked in for an hour. My daughter had done an escape room before, so she knew what we were doing, and with her friend, helped to lead the way. The other three who joined us had done one earlier in the day, so they were on the ball as well. One room led to another once we found all of the clues, and eventually we were able to save Chicago from nuclear annihilation with nine minutes to spare. Fun experience. Well decorated sets. Fun for all. Would do again. read more

So much fun!! Really well done games that are actually hard. So many cool features throughout

Came home to visit Chicago and as an escape room enthusiast, I had to try out The Escape Game. I had inquired two years ago about having a party over the size of 9 for my mother's birthday but they weren't able to accommodate at that time. This time around, I had the opposite problem. I had too few people in my party. Due to covid, the rooms are now private. In March, before 4pm during the week, you could book smaller parties for the $35.99 per person. It was only after 4pm that you had to book the entire room. For Gold Rush we played at Thursday at 3:45 pm with 2 people and ended up just paying for us. It was great! It was my friend's first time and he was blown away by the tech in the room. We breezed through the first room but the second room stumped us a bit. If I had known more about guns or had any aim, I think it would have been easier. We got out with 3 minutes to spare and our host told us we had the best communication that he's seen in his years working there. I went back the next week with my two girlfriends on Tuesday at 7:15 pm. This was a busier time (another large party was there as well) but our game master was the best! I called and explained our issue over the phone that we had a group of 3 and could not find a 4th person to save our lives. They were kind enough to book us for just 3. This room was harder than Gold Rush and the set was impressive. I think this game is a two for one kind of game due to the difference in environments. We escaped with about 5 minutes left. We ended up buying gift cards after for 20% off the next game. We will be back to play Prison Break which every game master we talked to recommended. For full game reviews and discounts, please check out the attached pictures! I was told that they used to have a shirt with a gold lock on it that they would give to anyone who escaped all 5 rooms. I vote they bring that back!!! Would love if there was more convenient parking. If you can get street parking it's somewhat affordable. Parking in the structure was almost more than what you pay for the room. read more

My wife and I have done somewhere between 30-40 rooms. We did 4 out of 5 rooms here and they are the top 4 rooms we have ever done hands down. Each room is incredibly immersive, the puzzles were super well designed, for example the puzzles actually stuck with the theme of the room. The engineering was the best I've seen, the excitement we felt when we solved a puzzle and the way next clues/areas emerged constantly created a new peaks. The game guides were all amazing and professional. They were fully attentive to us while we were playing (Nathan, Marisha, Mitch, and Pat) and the manager Brandon made sure the birthday girl didn't know about the little surprises we set. The best part was when the last area in the last room we did, they set up a happy birthday sign and balloons which made my wife extra happy, it was great touch! Like I said before, we have done almost all the escape rooms in Chicago and this place is easily number one. I know the price seems a bit steep compared to other places but It's 110% worth it. We already pre bought for the last room we have not done yet. Can't wait! read more
