They had two rooms, one smaller area in the front for appetizers and drinks, and the dining room further in, that easily fit 18-20 tables. This is my first Western style wedding that was served family style, and I liked it! I thought the chicken was too dry, and could really have used much more gravy, but the beef was good, and I loved the horseradish sauce that went with it. The service was excellent, and the bar tenders delightful. They also knew what the names of the drinks you may ask for were.... I've been to some places west of Philly where they didn't know what a Cuba Libre was made with. I appreciate knowledgeable bartenders. Also, the bathroom is nice, and they equipped the women's rooms with pads, tampons, and q-tips. That was a nice touch.

We got to eat shrimp while looking at the aquatic tanks. Seemed odd. But the appetizers were good. They had servers walking around and a few bar stations set up. Nice spread half way too that had a beautiful vegetable spread, cheese and crackers. The windows on the river venue where we ate dinner was decorated nicely. The team working the service were awesome. Friendly and smiling! The food was amazing. I had the chicken piccata and my husband had filet mignon. The chicken was tender and the sauce delicious. My favorite was the green beans with red peppers. Really well done. The dessert was tiramisu. It was also well done. Great job Chefs! The entertainment was Disco Inferno. They had the dance floor packed ! Definitely a great evening.

I am told that my niece just HAD to have her wedding reception here - so the entire wedding was…read morearranged around this venue's availability. So a freaking Friday 3 PM wedding on the west side of town - with a 2 hour window before the 6 PM cocktail/7 PM reception. This was hard to find and once in the parking lot - it was still confusing. The cocktail hour was on a terrace - outdoors and rather chilly. And not wheelchair friendly as my elderly mom could not make it to this part. Uneven flooring, jammed with people and tables and chairs to maneuver. Plus there is no elevator to get her down from the reception area. Just bad planning on all levels (no pun intended). I think the food on the patio was good - it looked good but hubby wasn't hungry and there were so many people, I only ended up trying one chicken skewer thing as a waitress wandered by with a tray. It was very good. I also don't know about bar service as again - we don't drink and hubby never offered to get me a soft drink. Plus - no place to put it and eat while standing, too. So just was well. We were seated upstairs for the reception. The room has these huge metal black steel pillar-beams which blocked my view from everything happening - cutting the wedding cake, bridal dance, etc. And I was seated at the family wedding table. The room was too small for the size of the party. When the dancing started, the music was so loud those seated at tables could not talk. I don't think it was the DJ's fault for having the music too loud - we were just all crammed together right by the dance floor. One good thing - the food was absolutely delicious. I went crazy and had the beef. It was a huge serving. I would have preferred med-rare - but no choice given the size of the party. I was just happy to get a choice: beef, salmon, chicken. The squash was also fantastic - with asiago cheese. YUM! Don't know about the potatoes but they looked good. Rolls were average. Salad was good. And I guess dessert doesn't count as it was wedding cake. I do not recommend this venue for a reception for almost 200 people. Pick a bigger place. I don't imagine it was really worth the cost.

The mayor of Cleveland often hosts breakfast and lunch meetings or gatherings at the Union Club. Private events and weddings are held here and there is even a hotel inside for visitors to stay. I've been attending events at the Union Club for over a year now and a half now (since Sept. 2024). I attend these events through the CCWA speaker events. Many great speakers have come to the Union Club to speak on global topics. The dinner served at the private speaker events that I've attended is always delicious. Normally there is a starting dish such as a salad, then a main course such as salmon, beef, or steak along with a side, and the meal ends with a dessert. The building is old but it has been well kept over the years. It does get cold inside sometimes so perhaps the old nature of the building is an issue with heating but I am not 100% sure. The chandeliers in some of the rooms are beautiful with intricate details. The great reading room is quiet and serene with plenty of comfortable seating. Their membership cost is high and is thus only for those who know they will utilize everything that the Union Club has to offer such as member events, the gym, etc. I am not a member but I enjoy attending CCWA events here and I can't wait to return again soon. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 47/250 total reviews in 2026 - 888 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 24 April 2026

We parked at the public park garage near the Marriott. You can take the elevators to the main level in the hotel.. walk outside and then across the street to the venue. For 5hrs it only cost us $8! There were vendors scattered from the main room to a side conference area. They even had room set up for a live band and Chinese raffle. This place is huge! There was quite a bit of seating (I expected there to be no seating). They also had some tables set up that you could stand by without sitting. The bathrooms were very clean and modern. Security was present, they kept the even safe & secure. I loved visiting this time of year because of the Christmas lights outside in public square. The venue also had a large woodsy type of lit up tree in the middle. The entire building is mostly glass with tall, very tall ceilings. My only negative is that is got hot in here, fast. There were a lot of bodies but it seemed as maybe the ventilation wasn't able to keep up. Just need better temperature control.
