I highly recommend Brookdale Senior Living facility on Russell Road. My wife has needed special…read moreassistance, and the staff has responded magnificently! People like Saida, her nurse, Dan the physician, KAHULE, the business manager, Norm, the maintenance chief, Jasmine and the other marvelous staff, helped my wife with any of her needs. The dining area knocked my socks off! It resembles an upscale restaurant, complete with cloth napkins. There are regular trips to local places of interest in Las Vegas, a movie theater, and even a poker table. I cannot say enough about how great Brookdale Senior Living facility on Russell Road.

I'm going to tell about my experience with this facility, and its staff. I have "C.O.P.D. Stage…read more4", and caught pneumonia. I passed out in my bedroom, and remember opening my eyes to see the Firemen's boots walking towards me as I lay on the floor. They transported me to the hospital E.R. Where they hooked me up to a machine that allowed me to start breathing in air again. Someone held a tablet up, and told me to sign my name. Which I did as I had no idea what was going on as I was pretty sure I was going to die, and pretty out of it. To make a long story shorter, I wound up their Assisted Living Facility. They eventually took me to my apartment, and started collecting some of my personal belongings to bring back to their facility. I was still loopy, and not sure what was going on, other than they were moving me into their facility. The second night there, I had vapors coming out of my mouth, and pains in my stomach, as I was lying in bed. I told the woman that eventually answered my call for help, to call a doctor. She told me they can't call a doctor for something like that. And the vapor, and pain did eventually subside! I have no idea where I got the idea it cost $1,800 a month to stay there, but it was in my head. And after a few days I had a neighbor wheel me to the office, with my checkbook in hand to write them a check for $1,800. That's when reality reared its ugly head, and the lady started reading off what she said I owed them. Community Fee: $3,000. For the next two months: $6,010.06 each. The two months after that: $4,199 each. Then $3,199 each month afterwards. I started laughing, and the lady asked what was so funny, I explained that I have nowhere near those type of funds. She then held up the thing I think I signed in the E.R.. and said I signed a contract to pay those amounts. I told her I was dying at the time, and had no idea what I was signing, that ended the conversation. Already moved in, and nowhere to go I stayed. Got some help from the V.A. From a great group called Patriot Angels. And started paying the facility !00% of my SS, and V.A. Help. I still had a balance due of over $16,000, because they were charging me for things I didn't need, like help with my medications, and other things since day1. And nothing is even reasonably priced, help with your mediations can run over $500, and the food leaves a lot to be desired many of the meals. The upper echelon staff are great. But too many of the others are inexperienced, and once they become efficient, they leave for better pay now that they're experienced. And we're subjected to a revolving door of lower echelon help. I'm going to have to move somewhere soon because they're demanding more money than I take in monthly. Had a deal worked out with the office staff where I could be paid up in 2 years if they don't raise the fee's. But the Main Office people want to be paid in 1 year. And are asking I sign a promissory note too. So just a word to the wise, do your due diligence and find out how much "everything they provide for cost"! Can't believe our government allows our seniors/veterans to experience things like this in their "Golden Years".

They were more than willing to put up with my grumpy German Dad and even got him to start joking and laughing again. The med. tech in the Citrine building found my Dad unresponsive and worked tirelessly to try and revive him. She was caring, compassionate and was visibly upset when my Dad passed away. He received excellent care during his short stay there and I would not hesitate to recommend this facility. It was clean, well decorated and the food seemed to be very good!! The activities director was a laugh riot!! Zach the intake manager was very helpful in getting the paperwork going and helping in any way he could.

I have been to a lot of assisted living facilities and this facility is definitely the best bang…read morefor the buck reasonably priced and very clean and caring attendance to the seniors that live here I spoke to many of the seniors that are very happy living there it's a resort Style assisted living and I can't tell you how many places that I had walked into that smelled of urine this place always smells good and just clean and the residence seem healthy and happy and the people that run the place truly care. They are opening up a new facility with more beds I highly recommend anybody looking for affordable Assisted Living check this place out. I have read their Past reviews I don't see any of that kind of nonsense happening that has been spoken of in Past reviews definitely worth a look for yourself so that you can make your own decisions but I don't know what we'd be without their assistance with a current family member. They even provide cell phone numbers for 24-hour access to staff and you can come and go as you need to and many of the residents will vocalize that they have been another places and are much happier where they're at now.. of course nobody wants to end up in that situation but if you have to be in that situation this is definitely a caring loving facility to be in.
