This is not a review I ever thought I would have to write. And after reading the reviews of so many…read moreother Yelpers and Elites, it's sad to see how many others have been in the same situation as myself. My mother was diagnosed with MMMT cancer in early 2012. She went through chemotherapy and was eventually in remission for 9 years after that, which we are so thankful for as most patients with this type of cancer don't make it past 5 years. In November 2021, she was rediagnosed with a recurrence of the same cancer. We got her an incredible doctor which we are so thankful to for helping manage her pain, and my dad took the most incredible care of her for the last 8 months, but unfortunately, she was admitted to the ER about two weeks ago, and after running tests and speaking with her doctor, we were told her liver was failing, her body could no longer tolerate chemotherapy, and her cancer was "blooming" inside her. We were given the devastating news that she had about two weeks left. The hospital connected us with Nathan Adelson Hospice. The representative we met with was incredibly kind, very professional. They wanted us to take her to the facility, but after discussing as a family, we wanted to bring her home, so family and friends could come to visit her in her last days and say their goodbyes. And she could live out her final days in the comfort of the home that she loved so much. The hospice arrived before we brought my mom home and set up her bed in my parents bedroom. They also transported her from the hospital to home and did so in such care and comfort. The hospice was truly so helpful. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, soft spoken, and understanding. My dad had been caring for her for the past 8 months, and they helped equip him as well as the rest of us to give her medication to continue to make her comfortable in her remaining days. They provided a big notebook with lots of information, and a 24/7 telephone line to contact if we had any questions. A chaplain came, social worker, and nurses as well. Everyone was helpful and answered all our questions. One of the nurses also gave some helpful advice in terms of getting her a memory foam topper for her bed to help make her more comfortable, as well as businesses to contact for cremation services. One of the nurses in particular was so empathetic. She asked my sister how long my dad and mom had been married. We told her 47 years in June, and she honestly looked as if she was going to cry. It's comforting to know that the people that work for Nathan Adelson Hospice truly care about the patients and the loved ones grieving and going through the unimaginable. My mother passed Sunday, May 29, 2022 and I will spend the rest of my days on this earth missing her. But in her honor, I want to thank those like Nathan Adelson Hospice who were there to help make this process less stressful for myself and my family, as I know that is what she would want me to do.

I would like to express concerns regarding my family's interactions with Dan Roth, MSN, APRN,…read moreFNP-BC, during our father's hospitalization at Sunrise Hospital. On Tuesday 9, 2026 at approximately 10:00 AM, Mr. Roth visited our family to discuss hospice care options. At that time, we informed him that we needed additional time to discuss these options as a family before making any decisions. Subsequently, another member of the care team met with us, and after further discussion, we decided not to pursue hospice care at that time. We assumed this decision had been communicated to all relevant members of the hospice and care teams. However, on Thursday at approximately 8:45AM, Mr. Roth returned and again began discussing hospice care. Because our family members were not all present, my father called my sister so she could participate in the conversation. During that discussion, we clearly communicated that we intended to continue pursuing treatment, including chemotherapy. Despite this, Mr. Roth continued emphasizing that my father's illness was terminal. While we fully understand the seriousness of his diagnosis, the manner in which the information was presented felt unnecessarily pessimistic and dismissive of our family's decision to continue treatment. Rather than feeling supported in making an informed choice, we felt pressured toward hospice care despite having already communicated our wishes. Additionally, communication barriers appeared to arise when Mr. Roth attempted to speak Spanish. Given the importance of discussing complex medical decisions, we believe professional interpretation services or communication in the language in which he is most proficient would help prevent misunderstandings and ensure patients and families receive clear, accurate information. We understand that hospice is an important option that should be discussed when appropriate. However, we believe patients and families should feel respected and supported regardless of the treatment path they choose. We hope this feedback can be reviewed to improve communication and patient-family experiences moving forward.

Well, one day I met Amy from hospice and she explained how we didnt need to give up the fight. Hospice works with you, in your home! Harmony hospice was able to get a hospital bed, oxygen and everything my uncle needed to come home within 2 hours!!! nurses and cna came each day to take care of my uncle. As our needs changed, medicine and equipment was delivered to our house that same day. There is a 24 hour nurse line! It is unfortunate we didnt understand what hospice was sooner. My uncle got transfered home and passed away within 3 days. But those were 3 calm, comforting, nuturing days. When calling the 24 hour line the first night, the nurse asked "do you want me to come out" ... i thought it was just a 24 hour call center, but she came out at 11pm. changed up his medicine and helped us position my uncle comfortably. My uncle passed away quietly, my aunt was sitting my his side, they were watching the Hallmark channel and suddenly she noticed he was no longer breathing. We called the 24 hour nurse line and Kim came out and took care of everything from there and stayed with us (until 2am) until my uncle was taken away. my uncle got to have dignity with dying and my aunt got to have her husband home and enjoy his last few days on earth. we can not say enough wonderful things about Harmony Hospice, we only wished we would have found them sooner!!

We had been anticipating home hospice and the 4th of July weekend did not look to be a good time to start. I made the phone call anticipating a Voice Mail session. Surprise, Michelle answered and took relevant information. On the Friday Holiday 4th of July I received a call from Harmony liaison Joe Trujillo - he did a DocuSign via email for legal documents. On Saturday the July the 5th Nurse Mia arrived to complete the intake. On Sunday July 6th Nurse Mia did a follow-up visit. This all happened so rapidly and on a big Holiday weekend. There was a following cascade of RN's, CNA, Social worker and religious support. The care and compassion that was delivered was superb. Many many thanks to our dedicated care giving team- Joe, Michelle, Mia, Nicole, Christine and Reverend Solomon who were with us to our dear wife and mother's passing. Watching a loved one's demise with dreaded Dementia is nothing short of agonizing and Team Harmony surely helped relieve some of the burden. Thanks again and a very Well Done!

I didn't know what to expect from a Hospice or what hospice care involves, especially from a State that I didn't reside. With that, I expected the most and was very satisfied with the care my brother was given. It wasn't just about giving him drugs to ease his extreme pain of pancreatic cancer, it was important to myself and siblings my brother remained clear headed and not dominated by opiates. Everything we felt our brother needed, from the custom requests for breakfast, to a different bed, Nevada Hospice Care responded immediately without question. As they monitored my brother on a daily basis, they recommended changes to us so that we could make the decisions for our brother. In truth, Nevada Hospice Care not only made my brother comfortable in every way, they made sure my siblings were just as comfortable in our confidence and security our brother was well taken care of. I won't deny, my siblings can be very demanding, almost unfairly, but Nevada Hospice Care handled all our requests without confrontation. Nevada Hospice Care represented themselves in a very accurate way when I was put in the position to research Hospices in Las Vegas, There are many to choose from and you would do no different than I when it came to choosing a Hospice Care for an ailing relative. Tony Farmanali, the owner of Nevada Hospice Care, met with me and provided me with honest answers to my questions. He gave me insights to the hospice industry, the positives and negatives. There are both, and you need to know both sides. I chose Nevada Hospice Care because I felt Tony was honest with me when he said he will take care my brother with more attention than state regulations require. Tony and Nevada Hospice Care delivered in every way. It's an unfortunate thing, to lose a brother to cancer to discover good people and good honest businesses. On behalf of my family, we sincerely thank Nevada Hospice Care and their staff for the extra care they gave to my brother the last two months of his life.

Well I called and got an answering service. I don't want to leave a long winded message, so I waited 5-10 minutes and called again. This was at 4 in the afternoon on a Friday. Second time I called back, a recording asked me to leave my name and reason for calling first before the person on the other end would accept the call. Really? They're screening calls? That doesn't seem caring and compassionate to me, so they lose my business, and yes, it is a business as they get paid very well by insurance for each patient they take on.

When my mom passed, however, I had no idea that I would have to engage in a 1:1 almost daily conversation with the RN Case Manager Christine to make a correction - TWICE - to the cause of death in addition to the staff medical doctor erroneously failing to provide his credentials for the death certificate - it's been a CIRCUS. Multiple promises have been made by Christine to provide frequent and timely follow ups on the status of the correction and updated certificates - until today when she decided that because it was with Vital Records that her job was done. NO Christine. Your job is NOT DONE. If your employee - Jayme - had taken the appropriate information and notes at the time that we met with her at the hospital prior to her transfer to Infinity Hospice we wouldn't be having this conversation today. That said, the ball was now in Christine's hands who ASSURED ME that she would see this through and confirm that Vital Records were making the correction then expediting the updated certificates (plural should be 5 - they were paid for) to us so that we can close her her estate. I am DISGUSTED at the lack of professionalism and self responsibility that this hospice facility has demonstrated. Not only have they made this heartbreaking moment in time that much more painful to deal with, we are still left "on hold" waiting for a process THAT THEY INITIATED to complete - with no information to work with. I have made attempts to reach out to Mary Bertram who is the CEO. We shall see if she responds. I was given a 3rd party message today from Casper inviting ME to call HIM on Monday. This entire experience has been offensive at best. I mean - this is THEIR JOB. This is what they DO FOR A LIVING but they couldn't do 3 simple tasks: get the cause of death right, have a doctor on staff who can remember to add his credentials and an RN Case Manager who backs out on her word to see the error through to the end. Shameful.

We interviewed several companies before finding First Light. I found Shannon and First Light through a simple Google search and gave them a call. BEST DECISION EVER. Shannon came out and met with me and my mom the next day and listened to what we needed. She was attentive and even brought up points that we didn't think about before. She was able to send someone out that weekend and after a couple of weekends of care, we found the perfect matches for my mom.
