I drive 40 min to the salon and get there 10 min early. She is washing someone elses hair and hasn't started the cut yet. Jennifer then comes over to me and tells me she is running an hour behind. She asks if I have something else to do while I wait. Umm, no. I am 40 min from my neighborhood and planned my day around this hair cut. I am new to TX and haven't had my hair cut in a few months and really need a hair cut. I wait the hour and then go sit in the chair to tell her what I want. She tells me she is running behind because she woke up not feeling well. Ok, I understand people get sick- call your client! Take 2 min and leave a voice mail that your appt will be an hour later. Give the client the choice to either cancel or come in later. While getting my hair cut she is talking to me about dying my hair and mentions she is a color specialist and can dye my hair. Im waiting to see how the haircut turns out before I decide anything else. I got a new client deal that was a little cheaper for a cut but still expensive. With tip it was $48 for a wash, cut, and blow dry with a round brush. My hair is short, right above shoulder length. Anyway, we get to the cut I show her the photo(a neck length bob, not a drastic A line but very slightly angled in the back, a popular cut right now.) and I had had a similar cut in the past but it was grown out. I had some damage from my hair being blonde. I told her I wanted a minimum of 1 inch off and if needed 2 inches was ok. She said she would do that and do a few long layers to help with volume. People, I ended up with layers right below my eyes, a weird shag type haircut and then she round brushed it. I ended up looking like Monica Lewinsky from 1998. I was so disappointed. Now I have to grow it all back out and Im stuck with it because to fix it would mean cutting it really short. I fear if my hair grows half an inch I will have a mullet. I will not go back to this salon. I attached the photo I showed her. Also, the cut I ended up with.

Let me tell you she did not disappoint. My hair and make up was flawless for both, and considered I got married in the dead of summer in *Texas*, that is saying a lot. Sweating outside for photos did not budge my hair or makeup in the slightest. I have coarse, frizzy, curly hair and was nervous to have my hair done but it was beautifully smooth the entire time for both. I had no idea my hair could look like that! I felt like a model. I also have very oily skin so to finish the day still matte and soft is a miracle. For my make up look, while I do love make up and getting done up, I wanted something that leaned more toward natural (as much as bridal makeup can look natural lol), and she delivered. My skin looked even and glowing and my eyes popped, but it was all done in a way that was natural and still looked like me. I thought it would take forever to take off because how else could my skin look that could without a thick layer of foundation? But no, it was not caked on at all. The airbrush was applied beautifully light and even and really looked like it was my skin. Lastly, Katie was very sweet and helpful throughout the whole process, flexible when bridals had to be rescheduled due to me getting sick, and just overall so easy to work with. She was also very punctual. I was nervous about getting ready on time for my early afternoon wedding, and she was knocking on the hotel door before I had even fully woken up! I am so glad I worked with Aqua Blue and will definitely be looking for excuses to get a formal updo again so I can have her do my hair again.

Be prepared to spend half of your day for a simple hair service that usually takes four hours or less at other hair salons,(even with a take down and shampoo included). A total waste of time and money;when your are done and disappointed with the outcome, you are way too exhausted and irritated from spending what seems like forever at the salon to voice your concern. First and Last!! P.S:No customer should be subjected to listening to the personal details of your life while you are providing service to them. It is SO OFF PUTTING;the customer is not your therapist or counselor. Not every one wants to have lengthy conversations with a hair dresser during an appointment. Besides,if the person is clearly quiet for most of the conversation you are attempting to have with them and they are reading a book, something should tell you they might not want to engage in a conversation with you except to inform you of the kind of hair service they want.
