I wound up talking with the owner for about 15 minutes and they were really knowledgeable and friendly, like genuinely excited to talk to you about different games and help you find what you're looking for. They stock everything from Atari up through the latest Nintendo Switch and Playstation games and have a nice selection of complete-in-box games if you are into that. The prices are pretty fair; I would say on-par or sometimes marginally better than what you'll see online. But to me, the real advantage is you can see everything in person and take something home same-day rather than waiting for it to ship from somewhere else! On this trip I picked up some great titles for the Nintendo Wii and n64. Looking forward to coming back once I've gotten through those!

I cannot recommend this place enough...First time visiting the shop and we had the best experience…read more Lucked into them being open late one evening on an area book night and got to spend some real time looking around. I'm more of a comic book collector, but their section of graphic novels was fun to dig around. The staff steered me towards the next area to find some comic adjacent products, and it just got better as the evening went on. Some further digging led to more finds, and even the person working the counter joining in to help find some more. Walked out with some great TPB's, GN's, and a hardcover I've been hoping to find in the wild for the better part of 20 years. My thanks to Max for all the help, the conversation, and the dedication to all things books that clearly showed in our short time in the store. Until next time!

Our whole crew- including a toddler and four year old was entertained by the variety of books on the shelves at this store. It's housed in an old warehouse alongside a gift shop, flower shop, kids clothing store and coffee shop (brilliant combination!). They offered everything from cookbooks and kid offerings to smutty romance books- a delightful mix displayed beautifully. Not to mention the charming warehouse setting and natural light.

My wife and I absolutely love The Vinyl Asylum. Hands down one of the coolest record stores I've…read moreever been to. My wife is from the Bay Area of California and says this place reminds her of the record stores back home. I'm from the other side of the mountain and there's nothing like this over there except for maybe in the Richmond area. Truly a unique shop for this part of the country. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service. They're great about special ordering or keeping an eye out for things you want. Wide array of genres and formats, and other cool items like pins, patches, video games, movies, memorabilia, shirts, etc. We're mainly into heavy/extreme metal and 70s rock and country and we always find gems here; some of the rarest records in our collection came from here! Pricing is generally on par with Discogs so I'm not sure why other reviewers are complaining. Even if you're paying a bit more you still get the brick and mortar experience and are supporting a local business. If you're local and haven't been here yet you're missing out. If you're passing through the area and are into record collecting this should be a mandatory stop.

Jane gave me the wifi, a delicious coffee, and even provides me with an extension cord if my seat is not near an outlet. Braithwaite is definitely a must-visit for those looking for a positive atmosphere, stunning art, and stellar service.
