Calliope my 2yr old, her eyes get wide and glassy as her Uncle takes her closer to the showcase. The employee was super friendly! My immediate thought was, this room is bright cheery and smells like Bakery Heaven...I could live here!! I tell her we want 6 Donuts and Calliope chooses first a Cake Donut with Pink Strawberry Icing with Pink & White Sprinkles, I choose 2 Glazed and A chocolate Nut Icing Glazed for my Hubby and my son Chooses a Glaze and for his 2nd a Blueberry Cake Glazed Donut! I was tempted to get a few cookies, whooping Pies and Cupcakes because everything looked so yummy and festive! But I did choose a Canoli and a piece of Baklava! In total it was $19.02 and I left her a tip of $3 in her tip glass! I definitely recommend if you are in the Athens area to swing by. They are topped with either a chocolate frosting or a vanilla frosting and are filled with another vanilla cream. Awesome!!! Those are my favorites. Everybody in the family has there favorites. You can't go wrong by stopping in if you're passing by. They make the days doughnuts early in the morning so the earlier you get there the better the selection. They do sell out of items throughout the day. Again, a great place that my family has made a lot of great memories while eating the Family Donut Shops doughnuts.

Interestingly, they do a baker's dozen (13 not 12) but the 13th donut is chosen from a separate case with options that are different than the regular donut options and at other places would cost more like cinnamon rolls, apple fritters, specialty long johns, etc. we found that fascinating, as I tried to get one as part of my dozen and they said those are the free ones instead. I don't usually eat sugar, so trying donuts on this vacation was a big stretch for me, but these were absolutely worth it!
