Was taken here for birthday dinner recently, and we ate at the Bar Grill. The menu is very limited,…read morewith only a handful of options for starters or mains. Service was good, the young waiter particularly was attentive and friendly and sorted out a mistake on our bill straight away, apologising for his mistake. The service was pretty quick. We had the sharing platter to start, which was lovely. The pate was the highlight. The garlic mayo and chutney were delicious but the brown goo, which we later discovered when we asked was sesame and soy mayonnaise, is to be avoided - it was utterly fowl. I'd expect to be warned about nuts, too, though I don't recall seeing this detailed on the menu. The steaks were cooked just as we asked, and accompanied by a basket of tasty chips and onion rings. We had to ask for steak knives, they were not brought as standard, which seemed odd. For dessert, we tried 2 of the taster pots - chocolate and pannacotta - both were delicious and I found this to be a good way of trying a dessert without committing to the expense of a full sized portion. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here but at over £70 for 2 with only one drink each, I feel it's overpriced for what you get.

Both pink and red pakora sauce placed on your table when you arrive also. The food was excellent, I don't think I've ever had lamb that just fell apart like this did with just the slightest nudge of my fork. The staff were lovely, very attentive, friendly and great interaction with my 2yr old. Nothing was a bother to them. Children's menu with both Indian and European choices. We were sat near the phone and they are kept very busy with pick up take away orders with them having great rapore with customers on the phone. It seemed they knew everyone's name and at one point a caller was asked "what do you want for din dins" which made me and my partner Lol. They offered to pack up what was left which is a first, I normally have to ask!!! Will defo go back

The restaurant is large, the decor is attractive, the seating is comfortable and it appears very clean! A friend and I popped in out of the blue at about 6pm on a recent Thursday evening and we had no trouble getting a table. However, even although it was quite early it was pretty busy and getting busier by the mouthful - always a good sign I think! Our food was tender, very tasty and deliciously spicy without being so hot that it was at risk of blowing my head off! I do like to be able to enjoy the flavour as well as the heat although I do appreciate that some people do love incredibly flaming fodder! Im sure that The Bombay Dreams also cater for the latter preference. The service was friendly, good humoured and helpful. It was a lovely eating out experience and it did not break the bank (possibly broke a little more wind than usual a few hours later 'though!). As usual, my eyes were bigger than my tummy (thank God and at my age too!). Therefore, I enjoyed a nibble on the way home and polished my doggy bag off for supper, jammies on and a glass of wine in hand whilst watching the telly! GREAT! Thumbs up for The Bombay Dreams!

Catching up with my reviews - ate here on 14th September, in my bid to try out the new local…read moreplaces. Very busy restaurant and had to book in advance to try it out, following a takeaway option the week beforehand (which was very average). Extremely modern fresh interior and friendly enough welcome in. Was a noisy night as a live band was playing at the other end of the restaurant. Sat us down at the end of the restaurant in a booth and waited a few minutes before getting waiter back to ask for drinks. Ordered a bottle of wine and soft drinks. 25 minutes later... they appear back.. Not a good start already, given the waitress had taken our food order before the chap came back with 2 soft drinks and a bottle! Mum was the only one to order a starter of minestrone soup & as you can see from the photos - a tuscan bean soup would be a better description, not a minestrone soup of any shape or form. No one came over to ask how it was either. Mains arrived shortly after and I went for Milanese Chicken with pasta, mum had pasta with spicy sausage and Fi, pasta with prawns. Side order of focaccia bread. Simplest way to describe the food. Bland and tasteless. No seasoning in any of the dishes whatsoever. Pasta was dry and not fresh tasting in the slightest. Worst part - the bread. It wasn't cooked and dough was still raw all across the edges and the rock salt... OMG.. Anymore thrown on & I'd be in hospital! Not to worry... oh wait, thats right, no one came over again to ask how things were, or even acknowledged you at the table. Didn't eat much, but still opted to try desserts to get a better feel for the place on a review. Sticky Toffee and Tiramisu are always winners & they were okay - not stand out, but the better out of the 3 courses. Another thing that lets this place down, is the ambience or lack of. It's just so loud in here with the tunnel design and you can't hear yourself or talk without raising your voice. I was quite disappointed with Nonnas Kitchen, given the takeaway the week before wasn't great, but put that down to it being a takeaway. Clearly, things don't improve much eating in food or service wise. Popular down to nothing else is really in Kirky and it's big and modern. Not a winner with me or anyone that expects freshly cooked and lovingly prepared food/service. You Don't Gotta Eat Here... Sadly!
