We thought this was supposed to be a serious burlesque show but it was much more like a student show, like people trying out stripping in front of an audience to see how it would feel. But it had heart for sure. It was cute and funny at times and pretty raunchy at times also which wasn't our particular taste but that's ok. I like raunchy but most of the humor here was just a little too much on the cheap and sleezy side for my taste. I just wished for one act at least to wow me, which didn't happen. The whole thing just felt like we were in someone's living room being entertained by their fun, sweet, and silly friends. If I were them I'd bring in real dancers, a director and production designer that was familiar with cool old cinema or theatrical dance sequences - think Crazy Horse, Singing in the Rain, Victor Victoria. Put real stories in the acts and relationships and not just make it solely about stripping for the audience each time, get a real costumer that can make cool visual experiences- right now it all feels like the artists built their own costumes out of whatever they had at home. Make the humor a little more funny and intelligent, put in a better sound system so we can feel the music more- the music was way too soft, and find more ways to bring creativity and imagination to the show. It's burlesque, we should leave feeling enchanted, not embarrassed we made our friends sit through it. Hope that's helpful. read more

Biggest waste of money. The place was dirty. I paid extra for the VIP experience which got us nothing. The girls were gross.

I'm not sure where to begin. My wife and I were really looking forward to the October 14 burlesque show in Santa Monica, but this show was terrible and disappointing, the actors were inexperienced and the performer (the guy with the flower petals) was a complete mess who kept jumping around the theater and falling on one of the audience-- and of course, his performance/part has nothing to do with burlesque or the point of the show. The vampire and the zombie girl were the only parts of the show that we actually liked. This needs a lot of work to make it a show that is worth a $50 ticket, or don't refer to this as burlesque at all. read more

The Dollface Dames provide some of the best entertainment in LA, week after week, hands down. I'm glad Saint & Sinner (formerly Muddle & Twist) was wise enough to give them a well-deserved Residency, because I can't wait to see more. Dancers, singers, magicians, sideshow acts, glass walkers, fire performers, and more make the night unforgettable. They also boast some of the best emcees in the business, like Vita DeVoid, Krystal Kurio, Vixen DeVille and DeeDee Cupcake. Attended the Halloween show at magicopolis with a group of 9. The show was.... interesting. They had incorporated a horror theme in ways such as a sexy zombie strip tease, horrifying lap dances, sensual vampires, etc. overall the quality of the show was better than I had expected from reading these other reviews. Burlesque is something that can be hit or miss, I have seen shows in the area and sometimes well...it's just bad. But, every time I've gone to see The Dollface Dames I have always had an awesome time. The girls are gorgeous and super talented. In fact, this is probably the most talented group in L.A. They perform at a few different venues in Santa Monica and one in Hollywood, so I found out they perform a lot. They have a big monthly show as well at an 150 seat theater called Magicopolis. The Dollface Dames stand out to me because they aren't just sexy, they are entertaining and offer much more than just a strip show. With it being a classy, fun and non-sleazy night out, it's a been a great choice to bring a date to. Love the girls and am very impressed by the talent. read more

It is for sure very entertaining and fun. This girls have a little bit of everything. The shows are free or very affordable, they are actually very nice girls, down to earth and approachable, unlike some other performers. I have seen a few of their shows by now and I gotta say they keep getting better. I came to a show at a place called Skinny's lounge in North Hollywood where this girls were performing about two years ago for the first time. I thought they were OK. Recently I attended one of their shows and LOVED IT. Now, their costumes are better, the dances have improved a lot and they have added great variety. Since then I wanted to see more shows and bring a couple friends. Keep in mind that the free shows have less performers and sometimes they bring guest stars or they showcase new talent, and in certain venues they don't do cool stuff like fire or aerial i think because of restrictions, but still cool stuff like hoop and walking on glass etc, I got to say there are favorites also. So I feel like when certain performers are there the show is just better, but overall every show Ive seen recently has not disappointed, very NEAT. My favorite singer so far is this girl Star Light. She is great. My favorite dancer is Siren Noire, she is so sexy and classy at the same time. Most entertaining is Eva Eden. Dixie is great also and very nice girl. Host always have different styles so that just depends on the crowd. They also do Duets and group numbers some very cool. If you want to get a better idea of what these girls can bring go to their big stage monthly show at a theater in Santa Monica called Magicopolis. I think every month they have a different theme so check for that also. Some of the shows are more classy and traditional and others i've seen are like more modern like the rock show where they showcased a live band. that was pretty cool. read more

This was the first time I had seen The Dollface Dames and it certainly won't be the last! I decided to spend my birthday evening with them instead of doing the usual bar hopping thing and I'm so glad I did! It also just so happened that they were celebrating two birthdays of their own, so it was a really special night. They are all beautiful, talented, super entertaining and I was definitely sad when the show ended. Thank you again, Kira and all the Dames, for being so amazing and making me feel extremely special. I've been to a few burlesque shows in New York, but this is my first in L.A. and it was my favorite, by far! I watched the show at Magicopolis in Santa Monica. The theatre was small, so everyone had a good view. All the ladies were amazing performers. In other shows, the women are just slowly stripping to music and they play with props to extend the performance. In this show, the women are actually quite talented. They tapped; one girl performed ballet; a few of the girls could really sing; one girl played with fire. Legit, these ladies are talented. I think it must be L.A. Talent flocks to L.A. Anyway, I was genuinely impressed by their skills. I would definitely come again and I highly recommend. I only wish it didn't start quite so late. I live in Oxnard, so it's a drive for me. read more

So it really kills me to write this with such a low rating. I love burlesque, and I really don't want to feel like my poor review may be killing the genre, but honestly, this group just wasn't that great. They seemed a little awkward, both the dancers and the host. There were more than a couple of times that I felt like they had forgotten what they were going to do or say. Our of four dancers, one of them was fantastic, the other three were mediocre. The hostess was a bit annoying. She tried to do a little comedy and it just kind of failed. At the very most she made me do a pained grin and unsatisfied groan just so that she would shut up and bring the next girl out. I went to a show on the Sunset Strip (The Cutting Room) which was free, and drinks were affordable. Hence the four star when I feel the show deserves three. The girls came by with a hat to ask for donations a few times, which I felt was a little pushy, but I can understand where they're coming from. I'd happily give them a chance at a different venue though. Maybe their $7 show is better. read more

I've been following this troupe of lovely ladies for the better part of 1.5 years, now, and all I have to say is WOW! These ladies put on a great show and each one is different! Whether they are performing in a smaller venue or in a theater, the shows are amazing! Having a different show, not only each week but also per venue, always gives the show an added touch of anticipation. These ladies know how to thrill, dazzle and WOW you with just the right look, twirl or pose, not to mention the dances! The shows at Magicopolis are always entertaining. The shows are themed and a different one each and every month. The hosts keep it light-hearted, always ensuring to include the audience in the show with varying antics and games. There are fire acts, aerial performers, hilarious and sultry duets, group numbers that blow your socks off and, of course, sexy ladies doing sexy dances. The smaller venues do not diminish the shows, either. They only become more intimate as the ladies dance and perform in and amongst the audience. Many times including the audience in their acts by enlisting an audience member or two in the act, or even bringing them up on the stage for a very personal and memorable experience. The Magicopolis shows are great and affordable; I paid $15 online for my ticket. The other venues are usually free, but I always tip. read more

Well... Where do I begin. I am a real fan of Burlesque and was enticed when I saw that The Dollface Dames were offering a Groupon. I purchased a couple of VIP tickets and couldn't wait to see the performance. Prior to coming in, I had to cancel reservations a few times because of other commitments, however this time nothing was stopping me! The show was held at Magicopolis on 4th St. in Santa Monica, a small venue with stadium seating typically used for magic shows. When we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by 2 ladies, one sitting a table - checking in guests - the other dressed as Wonder Women - the night was looking up! After about an hour and a half wait, we were allowed to take our seats. To my surprise, the seats were in the front row and were reserved with my name on them - tastefully done! We took our seats and were ready for the show to begin - the hostess came out and opened the show by explaining that when "The Dames" perform at Magicopolis, they frequently change show themes and this time the show had a nerdy theme - comic book heroes, Anime, Star Wars, etc... I'm into Big Bang Theory, so thought it would be fun - I could not be more wrong! The acts were worse than bad talent show performances. The singing in between the acts was unnecessary and could have been better. There was nothing sensual, or Burlesque about any of the performances. We really tried giving the show a chance and stayed through intermission. We ended up leaving after the first act, of the second half of the show. I was extremely disappointed as I was REALLY looking forward to The Dames. If this night's performance is telling of what typically happens at a "Dames" show then I would highly recommend you go elsewhere. read more

I had a fantastic time! I saw this group perform in NoHo at Skinny's Lounge. What a blast! I'd never been to a Burlesque show and was a little afraid of what I might see. But it was totally fine, PG-13ish, I went with my husband and I'm not sure who had a better time him or me. The girls were great. All of their numbers have a theme like skit to them. My favourite was the Peanut Better and Jelly Skit a girl did...no words can explain it...all I can say is everyone was craving some sandwiches that night...you'll have to see them for yourself. I think they're the 3rd Saturday of the month at this location. They also had a live singer who was amazing and a host that made you play drinking games...so you were sure to losen up and have a good time. Just make sure you sit up towards the front of the Lounge, if you sit back by the bar area it 's a little hard to hear/see what's going on. Finally an adult place in the Valley that I can go to for great entertainment. read more

I'm in the LA area for my bday and wanted to see a live show without breaking the bank. Came across these ladies and decided to buy tickets. I've never been to a burlesque show before so I can't judge on that. However, I have seen plenty of dance shows and saw lots of mistakes from the ladies during the group numbers. I'm just going off of basics here, but from what I saw, their formations were off quite often and it looked like at least 1 of the girls was trying to catch off. They weren't in sync either so that was odd. However...I did enjoy some of the numbers and the emcee. She was pretty funny and did great at getting the crowd up and going the whole show. I also really enjoyed that they had ladies with different body types. In fact, the best dance number came from the full size lady. Her number wasn't just shaking her ass and twerking (which every girl did in their numbers; it was their go-to move actually), but actual dance and movement of her costume which was fantastic. And the whole audience went CRAZY for her. She got the most applause and cheers than all the other girls. All in all, it was an experience...the single acts were good, one was FANTASTIC, the group numbers needed a few tweaks, and the host was funny. read more

Honestly I did NOT think this was going to be my thing. I went with some friends just to be a good sport. I had been to one other burlesque show years ago and thought it was gross and skanky. Dollface Dames was the complete opposite. It was fun and classy. The ladies represented a variety of body types and all were incredibly beautiful, and extremely skilled and talented dancers. Wow! The best time you can have with your clothes on!! Well... Mostly on. I've been to several shows in the Santa Monica area recently. At The Britania it's so great, the girls dance right in the mix of everything. You are up close and personal. May even catch a bra or glove during the show! There's a variety of dancers and singers. Plus comedians. There are girls for every taste. Some are more of my taste than others ;) It's a cool party atmosphere so be prepared to feel like your hanging out with some friends and hot chicks!! read more

I saw The Doll Face Dames twice Magicopolis and it was fun and sexy. I bought tickets online and selected the VIP package which gave me a front row seat, interaction and teasing by the performers. It's easy to just enjoy the show without thinking about all the hard work of coordinating over a dozen girls... plus all the costumes... but clearly a lot of practice and thought goes into this show! read more

In all fairness, I only saw half the show. And for reference - I've seen some burlesque - at Voyeur and La Descarga, which is more like sexy dancing. Both were very good. But by a long shot - Harlow Gold was the standard of reference and there was no comparison. As my friend who was with me tonight - whom I had taken to see Harlow Gold at Harvelle's (no longer there!) it was the difference between cocaine and baking soda. This show I saw (half of) was so bad, so embarrassing, so amateurish - I wanted to kill myself. It was like burlesque in Hell. The bad part of Hell. It was torture (which was why I left). The announced in between the acts was annoying and crass (I'm no prude - trust me on this - but it's not funny, this stuff just comes off crass.) It was like High School Burlesque. In a small town. I think they might have taken their clothes off (there were ground rules - no titty licking, that sort of thing), but I was afraid they would take off their clothes. Which is why I left. Simply awful. This was at The Trip. Go see Harlow Gold - that is what you want Las Vegas to be like - and it isn't. It's drop dead fantastic. read more

I went to my first Dollface show at Karma Lounge last week and let me say, it was a lot of fun! The girls were funny, sexy & talented. I had a great time and enjoyed meeting the girls after the show. I LOVE this group! They never disappoint, I've seen them both at Skinny's Lounge in NoHo and The Trip Bar in SaMO. Their burlesque show is full of great acts, and each show is themed brilliantly. The gals sing and dance and weave comedy throughout each show. Each act is transitioned seamlessly by the hostess, she is hilarious and infectious! These girls definitely work hard, so make sure you give a donation or two when they come around with their tip "hats." read more

I saw their show last Sunday night Sultry Sunday "A Night Of Sin at the El Cid" and it was nothing short of amazing. I have seen them perform in the past at Trip Santa Monica and at Skinny's in NOHO but this one took them to a whole new level in my opinion. The sexy dancers were backed by a 6 piece band and their numbers were hot and a lot of fun. The stage was a bit small but it made the show all the more intimate with each performer who had a different appeal making the show extremely sexy for everyone. The group numbers were also fantastic and accentuated by great costumes that came off little by little. Totally loved the whole thing and definitely going again with a whole group next time they do this show! read more

I've been to several Dollface Dames shows and they've never failed to put on an exceptional show. I regularly attend burlesque shows all around LA and the Dames are consistently the best. They have the most beautiful and talented roster of performers as well as the most diverse. What other group can offer a mix where a group number can be followed by an opera singer then a performer doing a fire routine or walking on glass? I can't recommend them enough. read more

Our instructor was Vixen DeVille - she is incredibly great at what she does and at making sure we had fun, felt comfortable, and confident. WOW! Incredible! I went to The Dollface Dames "horror theme" show last night at Magicopolis on the recommendation of a friend. It was amazing! This was not your traditional "art of the tease" burlesque, but what it was, was a sexy, creative, comedic, theatrical burlesque stage show. All the performances had a theme and told a story. It was both sensual and vaudevillian. The co-hosts were hilarious, played off the audience well and got everyone involved. The songbirds' vocals were awe-inspiring. The choreography and creativity of the burlesque dances (both solo and group numbers) were amazing. You can tell these women truly enjoy their art form. Speaking with a few of the performers after the show, I was truly amazed and inspired. These beautiful ladies have a new fan! I will be back to see what the Dames have in store for their next show.
